It only takes a spark to blow a powder keg. America, if properly primed, can become that powder keg.

Here's how it can happen:
>Step 1): Autoradicalization. In response to consistently losing their political objectives, people far left "autoradicalize" as a response. Autoradicalization is effectively overcompensating for political defeat by cranking your beliefs up to 11.

>Step 2): Having a willingness to protect your political objectives: Once autoradicalized groups begin forming (this step has already happened- just look around), they'll begin acting tp protect their objectives. Moderate beliefs do not presuppose action. This is why the "radical centrist" meme exists- it doesn't actually happen in real life. But on polar sides? Absolutely. Autoradicalized groups will now seek to protect their political objectives from being dismantled. THIS is the dangerous part. It is now no longer about trying to achieve something- like marching for gay marriage. It's about protecting what they have already achieved. This is why it's so dangerous- the reality exists so most people can tangibly experience it, rather than a vision for people to try to reach for. As a general rule of thumb, people are far more willing to try to keep what they have than try to achieve something new. What's especially dangerous is the fact that America is in a superposed state- two different realities are existing at the same time. One is the progressive America that the Left is trying to both foster and protect, and the second is the Traditional America that the Right is trying to foster and protect. America was effectively halted mid-transition with the election of Trump.

The difference between a protest and a riot is how fast people are moving. With motivated-enough instigators, the vast protests that will inevitably become a fixture of life under President Trump will inevitably include multiple riots as well. The sense of law and order in the US will begin to break down. Furthermore, in order to demonstrate their commitment to their political goals, autoradicalized groups will turn to radical activity in addition to riot-protesting. Attacks, bombings, kidnappings, etc.

>Step 3): Autoreactionary groups. Groups begin forming to counter Autoradicalized groups, such as the "Vanguard of Liberty" and "Anticom". These groups will inevitably clash as they contain equally passionate people with beliefs that couldn't be more different, and both are predisposed to action rather than sitting on one's ass.

>Step 4): The political poles begin skirmishing- the far right and the far left. The autoradicals and the autoreactionaries go declare war on each other. These are effectively very, very marginal groups, comprising a small portion of the population. Let's say, 100,000 people at the absolute most (0.0003% of the US population). But their engagements, along with the inevitable media coverage, cause the sense of law and order in the US to completely unravel. JUST SO WE'RE CLEAR: The sense of law and order is the only thing holding the US, ultimately.

>Step 5):As the sense of law and order begins to break down, the factors disincentivizing civil war and keeping people complacent/peaceful, such as the desire to keep things quiet and normal, begin to completely disappear. America is no longer quiet and peaceful- it is becoming chaotic and loud. Less passionate and motivated people, but still politically very passionate, begin joining the Autoradical and Autoreaction groups from the sidelines, beefing their numbers and drawing more and more Americans into the conflict.

What's to stop mass arrest of autoradicalized groups? Rooting out terror cells is pretty easy for a surveillance state.

Do you see Antifa or BLM being listed as terrorist groups yet?

If they ever became more than an annoyance they would be.

The problem is that America is a very, very big place. Even with a surveillance state as big as ours, so much can go missing.

Cell phones give the government a consistent pattern of where you are at any given point during the day. They know when you deviate from that pattern. They know who you meet during the day from your phone. They know who your friends and family are from facebook. They know when you don't meet people that you usually do, and when you do meet people that you usually don't. They notice when you forget to bring your cell phone, or when you turn it off, travel, and then turn it back on. Cell phones are a weapon of mass surveillance.

And that's just one tool of many.

I think BLM and Antifa have become a little more than annoyances. The problem is they are sheltered and protected by leftist colleges and leftist media because they claim to be something their not. So by simply claiming they are something the media and college campuses will now allow them to do ANYTHING because its done in the name of that something. That something happens to be social justice, btw. So basically the press will not condemn these groups and campuses will allow them halt the progress of free speech. But now that Trump has won his administration will do its very best to crack down on these groups and return law and order to power. We only need to replace the press and the college hierarchy to make sure these groups are dealth with effectively.

I'd be curious to know how many FBI informants are in BLM and Antifa. I'd guess a lot.

The problem with BLM and Antifa is that they're effectively headless organizations. They don't have a lot of structure but can rapidly organize activists in urban environments.

If leftist groups become a real problem and are shielded by schools expect Trump to pull federal funding. He publicly threatened to pull Berkley's funding after the Milo incident.

Most colleges are leftists. Trump pulling federal funding from 3/4 (at LEAST) of the colleges in the country would cause tuition to skyrocketing, which would cue massive student protests. No risk of escalation there, right?

When these groups start committing violent actions, they will be declared terror groups. Not one second before.

With a normal Republican President, it would take a mass killing or something of that nature. Look at Black Panthers, they were never declared a terror group. But with Trump, all antifa needs to do is kill one Trump supporter.

Plausible. I can't say I like the thought, but I can see it happening. Your posts mirror my impressions; a few key decisions at a few key points and the whole thing can come tumbling down. This is especially highlighted by the deep divides, both political, racial, social and economic in the USA right now.

The big problem with any civil war, as says, is outside intervention. Right now the USA is at the top of the world order, in direct opposition to anyone else who'd want to be at the top. So there'd be a fucking *lot* of states and organizations interested in not only prolonging a Balkanized america, but also in making it happen in the first place.

Honestly any civil war in the US will probably end up resembling the Troubles in Ireland at most. Americans by and large are a disinterested bunch and once something is common place (terrorist attacks, school shootings, freak weather ) we stop caring. Look at the coverage from Katerina and then the coverage from Hurricane Sandy or the coverage of Columbine and then Virgina Tech. We pretend to care about that shit but eventually you can tell we don't.

So while the interested groups of hard core liberals and conservatives will probably continue to fight in some areas and the US government will respond and try to act like peace keepers the majority of the population will not be involved. Nor will it become an all out war like the first civil war or even close to something like the Russian revolution. For something to happen in that scale you need people to be freezing and starving.

i mean your not wrong.

i dont know much about ANTICOM but VoL wants to avoid starting a fight. not that it will dodge one if it comes to it, which has dangerous tendencies ill admit.

hardly can say though, being part of the group, that either is in a position yet to actually do much at any protest, so i cant see it mattering much as an example just yet. theres better ones id say, considering there have been groups to stand up to ANTIFA in person before.
