One thing to keep in mind is that Milo uses the technical definition for pedophilia, meaning pre-pubescent children.
That's not what the law is, and he believes that, while the age of consent laws are "about right", there are still exceptions where relationships between "13 year olds who are sexually mature" and older men can be beneficial.
So by his definition of pedophilia, he wasn't defending it, but by the legal definition of pedophilia he was.
