My mum was a Prison Officers, needs more guards and Prison Officers to need to able to act more aggressively towards inmates.
When did you Mum leave that job? It seems really bad at the moment due to Spice, I wonder if it's always been this bad but just more publicised recently...

Here's the thing UK bro you need to run Prisons with just enough force. To much you get riots out the ass to little and the inmates tear each other apart. or in the case of ADX florence you just lock em in a cell for years at a time.
some of our prisons in the UK have a high Muslim population and if you get nicked for something 'Islamaphobic' our government will send you to one of these prisons.

This is what happened here.
The court ruled that guards couldn't do shit to the inmates anymore. So now 80% of the prisons are dominated by the criminals, they do whatever they want. And it became a school of crime.
That included, but the army's prison service could only provide a token amount to help the shortage.

considering the normal tactics for handling prisoners is either, locking them in the cell or 5-10 guards jumping on them. You wouldn't caught me doing for the lack of benefits you get from it.

Due to budget cuts by the government, there are less guards and more prisoners than ever before. The prisoners are in such a majority that riots have been breaking out all over the country and realistically the guards can't do shit about it. I watched a documentary the other night and there was one prison guard on a wing with 30 prisoners. He was supposed to be making sure the prisoners were behaving but basically he was just a wandering lone cuck in a uniform with absolutely zero authority.
I dunno. Our news almost never mention our prisons or the state they're in.
Not every country has an enormous criminal rate, you know.
maybe petty crimes go to prison but we invest in a prison island somewhere for the seriously serious crimes.
this way we free up a large amount of space here at home and set a cap on population to guard ratio.

Maybe in England. I spent some time at HMP Edinburgh and HMP Addiewell and it was like a camp.There was only one fight I witnessed and it wasn't even bad. We had two lifers in our wing and they were pretty chill.

My friend in the military when stationed in Ireland became a prison guard, so many threats against his wife and children and the prisoners knew who he was where he lived and everything. Scary really part of the reason he moved base to Germany and teaches fitness to new recruits.

The legal highs got prohibited. Illegal drugs get smuggled in by gangs.
It's not that bad I did a year in 2015-2016 it's only bad because of how soft they are on inmates. Like I could go up and punch someone in the face in there and get 2 weeks basic regime but could still go to work 5 days a week and basically be out my cell 5 hours a day. They need to start giving out solitary confinement for any misbehaviour. I only got 2 days solitary for smashing my cell up.
