"Swedes" make up 85% of the swedish population, so it is not a huge shocker that they are responsible for the majority of crimes. There is a reason they don't put thing into proportion. Covering up the statistics is also the government’s modus operandi. 1996 was the last time gov statistics bureau compiled stats with the ethnicity of criminals as variable. It found that criminals from Middle East & Africa were massively overrepresented especially in sexual and violent crime.
In 2005, the bureau released a new follow-up study with broader definitions such as “people born in Sweden” and “people born abroad”. By doing so they’ve placed ethnic Norwegians, Finns, Somalis, and Iraqis in the same category thus making the overrepresentation seem less staggering than it really is.
Why are they not talking about grenade attacks in Sweden, which is, unironically, a huge problem since 2015?

They conveniently neglect to mention the fact that the study was released in 2005, based on data from 2001, when the demographics of the country were different. They also neglect to mention that the same study shows different numbers for people from the middle east and north africa (4 and 5 times respectively), and that these groups have been the bulk of the immigration the last 15 years. Another fact they conveniently ignore is that this is for all crimes, including crimes that newly arrived refugees are unlikely to commit (any car related crimes, financial crimes etc) and that the figures are different for crimes such as rape and murder. Of course on these crimes, we only have the figures for the entire "foreign background" population, including the relatively large (at least in 2001) groups of Nordic immigrants who had the same crime rates as native Swedes on the whole. If we assume that East Asians, Europeans and Americans have the same rates on rape as Swedes (which all evidence we have suggests) then we would find that Middle Easterners and North Africans have a ~10x higher likelihood to commit rape than native Swedes.
