Don't know where the concept came from, but I have seen an idea proposed that waifu-bots are part of a cycle. See, as with all things, supply and demand is in effect. If there is a low supply of high quality women, the "cost" would do up. So, with the advent of Waifu-bots, the cycle is shifted to the male side. Women now have to compete against something that could become arguably better.
But that's not actually true. Most estimates suggests that sexbots will be common place by 2025, and more than 3/4s of births through artifical wombs by 2070.
Neither is actually very far off. But that's not the point, the point is more to discuss the impact regardless.
