This is why the F-22 and F-35 are a waste of Tax payers money.

The F-15 only needs radar improvements...the Russians are updating their old models too which is far cheaper

drones are the future

F-22 was a waste of taxpayers money

F-35 was just too much money, budget went too far overboard.

The f-35 is a very nice aircraft if you iron out all of the probelms it has..

For its price its very decent 120mill per aircraft, this aircraft is supposed to replace all aircraft except for strategic bombers, if you ask me, a aircraft that replaces most other aircraft with 5th gen tech and "stealth", its decent

The f-35 can't even beat an F-16 in a mock dogfight though...the design is flawed. It isn't manoeuvrable enough and can't carry a heavy loadout either.

Modern jets don't need to dogfight

F-35 isnt supposed to go in a head to head dogfight (as in when you use guns on the aircraft) Thats a last resort, F-87 Sabre from cold war could outperform a F-15 in a mock dogfight, yet do you class that as superior?

The advntage that lies in a F-35 is the fact that it can spot and launch a missle to the enemy without them even know they are there, And if its under a heavy loadout eg: land strike it isnt suppose to turn like hell

> the Russians are updating their old models too which is far cheaper
They're doing it only specifically because it's cheaper, they have no money
> The F-22 and F-35 have been completely declassified
They're probably incredible beyond what we can see. The F-22 is superior to the F-35 as a fighter obviously, they're both going to be incredibly capable, maneuverable, versatile, great in direct combat, are probably the stealthiest aircraft ever, etc. That being said they are probably wastes of money considering just how much money has been spent on them.
This is probably true in large part, possibly not entirely though.

F-22 was overpriced bullishit and has 4th or 3rd gen tech,

F-35 is cheaper and with latest and great tech, if you read on its tech, its very very cool

The F-22 is the greatest combat jet in the history of the world. It can destroy pretty much everything on the air, ground and sea.

educate yourself: youtube.com/watch?v=Qwh-1jRGuDc

Except when it gets BTFo by a Russian S-400...

They should've went with the YF-23.

Latest tech is not always good tech.
And certainly not cheaper.

DJT seemed to support the production of the f-35. Why is he so into bloated pieces of high tech crap?

F22 is WAY superior. Better Stealth, better performance.

Btw OP if you actually want to talk about stealth obsolescence learn about Vortice Detection technology which can detect turbulent and odd-shaped airflow over a great distance. It can detect any airplane and isn't affected by stealth technologies and the Russians and Chinese are already looking into it heavily. I think Australian researchers have done some pioneering work in the field. Basically if it ends up working out radar-detection will be completely useless.

I always found it strange as to how these different stealth fighters are supposed to combat if they can't even detect each other on their radars.

I'll look this up...this technology was bound to be developed anyway

yeah, thats why f4 is failure

...

Here's a good explanation for you.
f-16.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20005

>The f-35 is a very nice aircraft

It's chubby, underpowered and not good at anything. Even if stealth worked perfectly once the f-35 has shot off it's limited loadout and shows it's engines to the enemy it's a sitting duck.

It really should have been optimized for VTOL/CAS and a different aircraft be used for everything else.

The F-35 had a 15:1 kill ratio in Red Flag this year.

>Drones do everything fighters and bombers but cheaper.

Wars cost money goy.

Once you open that box it causes a lot of problems though. Suddenly cutting edge warfare isn't just for 1st world governments anymore.

Like when they used a robot to blow up that asshole a few months back. They're going to regret doing that in the long run.

stealth is bullshit, let me explain why:

radars operate from 8Ghz to 12Gz, it means the wave length is about 2.5 CM to 3.2 CM if my math is correct. that means modren radar (that was have been using since WW2) is capabale of detecting objects that are only 2.5 to 3.2 CM, this can be edges, it can be rounded surfaces, what ever, you will alawys have signal bounce back. the next thing a radar requires to detect these tiny responses is simply a decent sensitve antenna, it will look like on the radar, something tiny and about the size of a bird however it would be going way to fast for any bird to go, and because of that, filters that process the trace data from the returns will flag it as a plain, secondary survalience radar will then try to identify it, if it can then what ever, if it cant then its a UFO.

things on stealth jets that have surfaces 2.5 CM to 3.2 CM are things like fuel pods, armniments, sensors, camera lenses on cameras

just like there is no such thing as a bullet PROOF vest

there is no radar PROOF jet

its only bullet resistant vest, and radar resistant jet.

stealth is a buzz word to fool officials.

(RADAR tech by trade)

Stealth aircraft don't work in the sense that they're invisible ninjas but it's not entirely worthless either. They type of radar that can detect stealth aircraft is large and ground-based so it can't currently physically fit into a fighter.

In complete isolation a stealth aircraft has the advantage of being able to shoot first but complete isolation is an outdated concept. The ground stations tell the conventional aircraft where the stealth aircraft is and where to fire, the cutting edge missiles do the rest.

sorry for shit english, its not first language

also another thing to note: there will be huge advances in RADAR tech coming extrememly soon, also there is some interesting developments coming from heat displacement detection that can see the exhaust from any jet, stealth or no stealth (pretty much a fancy thermal camera that is 360 view) however it cant detect range, yet

this is ture, it would be very difficult to achieve this with on a jet. however there are mobile ground based radar such as an/mpn 25. they have far limited range but can be dropped and set up anywhere, complete isolation in a stragic area would be hard to find

This

could be slightly biased in favor of russian jet

>there will be huge advances in RADAR tech coming extrememly soon

IMO the ruskies won this round by not pissing away money on ridiculously expensive jets that were inevitably going to lose their "untouchable" status sooner rather than later.

The f-35 is arguably already obsolete. I find it hard to believe the americans didn't see this coming and the whole thing was a big moneymaking scam for the MIC.

Drones will continue to be great for killing goatfuckers who have no chance of developing counters but I doubt they'd be useful for long against an adversary like russia or china.

Probably only true up until the near future. The Air Force already has AI programs in testing that can beat most pilots in dogfights in testing. If they can dogfight well they'd be able to do pretty much anything an effective pilot would be asked of most likely.

Isn't the pak fa not even finished? I remember headlines about the engine having serious issues and being incomplete. The f-22 is already OOP at this point anyway

AI removes the vulnerability of remote control but there's still sensor warfare.

Computers are still fairly poor at using their "eyes" in the visual spectrum to identify what's going on around them.

This is why you're filling out capchas for google. they're basically harnessing millions of us to work for free helping them to develop ais that can locate, identify and read a street sign.

8 prototypes were built and undergoing testing
not an expert though

>only needs radar improvments
>Russia models far superior
Self contradictory.
