Utah has one of the strongest economies in the US with affordable housing, quality schooling, and university tuition at BYU is some of the lowest in the US.
Joseph Smith was arrested dozens of times for swindling and ripping people off, he was also heavily into witchcraft and the occult before his "angel" friend came to speak to him.
Reformed Egyptian never existed.
Jeremiah Hughes
That's all very nice, but what evidence do you have that the Church's holy books are legit? The number one turn-off for people looking to join the church is that they all think the events surrounding Smith are sketchy as hell. I don't blame them, either.
Connor Nguyen
Unfortunately you keave out the fact that Mormonism has a control freak culture, demands inane amounts of your free time, is literally the most Zionist christian sect, has the most insane holy book of any mainstream religion, and had a murderous philandering pedo as its "prophet".
Landon Bailey
I've seriously considered joining because all of this. Also, that architecture, beats the hell out of all the cucked megachurches in the south.
Dominic Bennett
heretical scum
Robert Kelly
low level ones are so nice and seem to have good values but when you get to the upper levels they are just as bad as scientology.
Cooper Robinson
...
Thomas Allen
Yeah but don't you think it's kind of stupid to join if you don't actually believe in it?
Caleb Taylor
Nop, it is patriotic. Plenty of people do it.
Eli Scott
please start persecuting mormons again until we uncuck ourselves.
I feel like some good old hate will help us remember our roots and get back to them.
Not back to the whole polygamy thing, but back to at least being men. All mormon men are just numales pretending not to be these days.
Hunter James
Focus on the jews please. At least they deserve it. The average Mormon girl has 4 white kids. They almost all vote republican too.
Brayden Torres
I guess I just have a low tolerance for bullshit. It's one thing to say "I can deal with joining a phony religion" but it's quite another thing to actually spend the rest of your entire life going to services and meetings, teaching your kids about Mormonism, talking about Mormonism with your spouse, etc. I mean, don't you think wasting so much time on something you know is a sham is a bit pathetic? I'm not talking about people who believe Mormonism because they were born into it and it's all they know, I'm talking about people who join it despite knowing it's bullshit.
Jackson Roberts
My parents raised me as a mormon so I can't imagine leaving now. My girlfriend of 2 years is also mormon so it would just be a bad choice for me to abandon it.
Some of the stuff is a bit crazy but overall I believe in Jesus and a lot of what the church teaches.
Jackson Martin
As long as it serves as a good model to live from, does it really matter?
Christopher Nelson
Just gonna leave this here for you Mormons to talk about
This is my problem with Mormonism. I wish they were just plain old Christians but will all the high fertility and hatred of blacks retained.... what about Christian Identity?
Charles Peterson
Already exists. Amish, Hutterites, and Mennonites
There are quite a few modern mennonites who look like regular people.
Liam Parker
But what's their theology like? Isn't it heresy?
Aaron Reyes
Nope. Our theology is a correction of the heresy that came before it.
Zachary Lee
The bible is heresy? i will pray for you. good night sir.
Ian Garcia
Yes it matters, because there are ways to live a good life without having to constantly lie to yourself and to others. There have been volumes written on the philosophy of life, so it's not like Mormonism is the only solution.
Evan Thompson
Lol I've lived among the (((God's chosen))) for over 20 years, they act like niggers with money tbqhh
Julian Russell
Joseph smith was a fraud
Jason Bailey
You don't get it. Mormons will still keep having kid's if persecuted. They may even have more because of it. Modern Mormons are soft, they need to be toughened up to be returned to their based roots.
Sorry this is who you replied to, just on mobile so different id
Lucas Ramirez
Explain? Were you Mormon?
Elijah Flores
I've noticed that Mormons seem to be nice people, but anybody who builds outright fantasy medieval castles in the middle of a city is up to no good. I don't trust their heathen heresy any more than Muslims.
Bentley Diaz
I used to be Mormon and I wish I knew how I should relate to it now:
>born in the Church >family almost entirely from Utahn pioneer stock >became fedora during edgy teenage years >still remained rather "culturally Mormon" (heck I still do food storage) >post-redpilling, the rewards of Mormon living seem more appealing >every time I visit family in Utah I see good families, high white birth rates, functioning social structures, a sense of community
So part of me wants to reconnect with that culture and religion more actively, especially since it's inescapably my own ancestry. But on the other hand:
>severe Israel-worship >very cuckservative >socially the Church feels like it's starting to let itself be pulled off-course by the world >Church's intellectual/traditionalist/aesthetic roots are sparse and consciously severed from the centuries of prior continuity and tradition >temples and their grounds are beautiful, but ward buildings are utilitarian and ugly
Not sure what I should do. I'd probably go off and be a Traditionalist Catholic or something if it didn't seem like LARPing as something I have no connection to.
Hudson Perry
You could be like me and just be an agnostic mormon. Nobody knows. :)
I just live it because it's nice and I grew up doing this. Also hard to leave because I go like 4 gen back.
Zachary Lee
If I don't believe in any religion I might as well choose based on other factors.
Leo Nguyen
Genuine questions I want from some LDS / Mormon-knowing people:
I'm debating Bringham Young for law school. I am staunchly traditionalist - have been my whole life. I genuinely find even caffeine bad - let a lone premarital sex - and had no idea Bringham Young had rules in alignment with this before believing it for so long.
I want to be up front, though. I have problems with Mormonism's theology. I read the Bible and ask Mormons about certain conflicts, like how God can be Alpha and Omega yet be a 'man' in a previous life, and the only explanation I get consistently is that the Bible is imperfect because it was compiled by men. The arguments are not satisfactory to me.
When it comes to marriage in the temple, are Mormon women serious about this aspect? Will Mormon women even be OK with this? I know the faith doesn't disallow it, so I want to know whether it could be possible for me to meet my future wife in Mormon country while having a personal aversion to the strict theology.
Any advice is really appreciated. I'm looking at where to spend my life in these moments.
Jaxson Allen
kick out beck and evan and ill consider joining do you disavow?
Oliver Garcia
edit *marriage in the Temple, are Mormon women serious about needing marriages in the Temple?
**will Mormon women be OK not being able to marry in the Temple ?
Daniel Thomas
Most women are very serious about the church, they won't turn down a date most of the time though because they are pretty polite people.
Some of the answers are weird I agree, but overall Mormonism favours a traditional way of living rather than what exists outside of the church.
It is definitely possible to meet a Mormon spouse even with some disagreements, particularly the ones outside of Utah/Idaho.
But if you have strong objections to Mormonism I would try to avoid marrying one. Having such a huge disagreement or lie in your relationship will be pretty damning overall. If you want to be happy in your marriage you have to be honest.
Also, Mormons like to hire other Mormons so if you are going for law school it might be better for you to go elsewhere so you can network etc.
Nathan Lewis
Dont have a testimony m8 and whilst their structure is pretty good what you have to believe is maddness >but when you get to the upper levels they are just as bad as scientology.
Can you expand on this?
Chase Roberts
Thanks.
It's trying to be a young, conservative Christian who just wants to be the sole breadwinner for a traditional family.
It's very frustrating that I have trouble with the theology. I already live an honorable lifestyle, even in the Mormon light, and want to be surrounded by others like that. There really aren't any educated communities with this sort of profile, though, outside of Mormonism. It's a lonesome lifestyle.
Hudson Jones
Fuck you and fuck your cult.
Isaiah Hughes
>degeneracy is not tolerated
Oh shit that disqualifies everyone that might read this
Luke Peterson
There's quite a few girls like that out there. Even outside the Mormon faith. You should try volunteering at local communities. Especially in more rugged activities or even Church related ones. Just be upfront about your beliefs and don't try to hide it.
Gavin Bennett
You in southern alberta, leafbro?
I'm in deep mormon territory
Lucas Hughes
>tfw at BYU >tfw surrounded by beautiful Aryan virgins whose main goal in life is to be a loving wife and mother to several white children >tfw in high demand since good religious men are in short supply
Sup Forums please, I'm begging you, convert to Mormonism, don't turn down this opportunity.
Ian Robinson
Ahahahaa! Their cathedrals are cringe-tier. Honest to god, the Scientologists do them better. It's just a testament to the fantasy-land all these folks live in. These people are delusional.
Leo Adams
Nop, I'm in southern Ontario but I'm moving to Utah to study at BYU. I've just completed my mission. I might move to Alberta though, I really like the southern part of it. I'm just waiting for the NDP to be removed to see how Wildrose will do.
William Bennett
>be me growing up >non-mormon chad in a mormon town >lefty degenerate fedorafag >introduce a bunch of the girls to weed booze etc >deflower a bunch of them
I actually feel really bad about this after taking the redpill. What do
Ryder Lewis
Repent.
Nice, where'd you serve?
Jacob Price
Yeah def wait it out for the commies to get btfo. Should happen in the next election. Southern Alberta is def God's country.
I'm not religious but I'll never leave the bible belt.
Joshua Lopez
OP suffers from cognitive dissonance obviously. Too afraid to reply to dissenters on an anonymous board. Many such cases. Sad!
Luke King
Except I've said a lot of the stuff is crazy talk already but overall it is less degenerate.
Bentley Collins
I was chosen to go to Namibia, didn't successfully convert anyone though. I feel like a failure but I didn't try too hard. I mostly helped at a school.
This. I hate Ontario to be honest. I want to move west because things just seem to be a lot more interesting there. Also the people are based.
Brayden Wright
That's pretty cool though. Say "Namibia" and all the Provo girls will be all over you, guaranteed.
Jason Cox
Mormon here, didn't go to BYU but lots of friends did.
If you are traditionalist you will be surrounded by like-minded people.
Wrt to marriage, girls are usually very serious about the temple marriage. There are some who will marry without. And many will date you, but most will eventually want a temple marriage.
Chances of getting married to a good traditional woman would be very good tho.
Wrt theology. I'd advise read more. Talk to the Institute professors (who have degrees and are well read on this stuff). Bishops may have more knowledge for you as well. Your typical lay member will not have thought much about it. Tho you will find exceptions to that rule.
Doctrines of salvation and other similar mormon doctrine books might be helpful to you should you decide to explore that further.
If marriage is important to you I think you should go. Everyone there will also have marriage at a high priority.
Sebastian Gray
I went to BYU and graduated about 10 years ago.
Funnily enough, I had a sexual awakening there.
One of my girlfriends begged to be ass fucked to save her virginity. And my first time having sex was in a stairwell ass fucking this Babe because we couldn't fuck in her dorm room.
The other girl that was weird was a girl that literally came every time she sat on my lap. It was unreal.
But in general, Mormonism is a crock of shit controlled by corrupt morons.
But I would say to people here that if you can get past that, and fake it, you can find happiness with a tradition Mormon girl.
Kevin Rivera
>low level ones are so nice and seem to have good values >I've noticed that Mormons seem to be nice people
This is a recruiting tactic plain and simple. Mormons are taught from birth and retaught every week or so to "avoid even the appearance of evil" "When you are out in public you are the face of the church" and shit like that. I was born and raised mormon and let me tell you that whole friendly happy image is a sham. In private mormon families are just as if not more fucked up than any other. They just drill public Relations into each and every member constantly to keep up their "nice" image and help with recruitment.
Henry Hughes
It may be a PR tactic, but they buy their own bullshit. Which is why SLC is the pill-popping capital of America.
