Last time I was in France I caught a lot of shit for being American and not speaking French. Even though I go out of my way to be nice to people when I'm visiting other countries everyone basically treated me as shittily as possible the entire time I was there.

I've never experienced that with any other nation, every other country I've gone to people have been basically cool, with some countries being particularly welcoming and kind.
