Can we talk about the wall?

Can we talk about the wall?

The problem is a wall is a terrible "investment." He could do so much more by providing more funds to ICE than building a wall. Even if you believe Mexico will pay for the wall, it would be better to get Mexico to help pay for ICE.

The wall is basically a giant middle finger to Mexico. We might as well just build giant middle finger statues on major roads that cross the border. It'd be cheaper and more effective.

>We might as well just build giant middle finger statues on major roads that cross the border. It'd be cheaper and more effective.

Unless all of the fingers were rocket launchers that is Hyper fake news

Mexico is paying for it ratboy. Take your tay-sachs and cousin inbreeding somewhere else.

Why not get Mexico to pay for ICE instead?

I'm concerned more about why we want a wall rather than who will be paying for it.

i'd rather go to live to canada now that i dont need visa than paying for something who i dont need.

At this point the wall is primarily an object lesson for rich white liberals. Delay and slander people for wanting immigration controls all you want, eventually they WILL do something about it... so just be reasonable in the first place, or you end up with camps and walls.

Anyone who watched Pacific Rim knows that ICE and border patrol investment is the way to go.

fucking lol'd
you're a faggot

checked

The cartel will start using narco subs and drones to transport drugs. The wall will work, in the sense it will stop most people, but it will not stop drugs. The cartels need to be destroyed, but this is a monumental task.

He said in his campaign he would build a wall. So we're building a wall.

He said a lot of dumb shit in his campaign that he has wisely back off from. The wall would be a good one to take this tact on. Increasing the CBP and ICE would actually make us more secure where a physical wall will not.

Mexico will never pay for it. Americans will pay for it with a border adjustment tax. Trump is changing the way imports are counted because he needs the popular support to get it through Congress. Before, if you import something like bolts and then use the bolts in a crane and sell the crane to China, the bolts weren't counted as imports. Now the import of bolts will count but the export won't so it'll look like we are importing a lot more. Then trump will claim we are getting ripped off and getting taken advantage of.

>giant middle finger statue to Mexico

Sounds like a fucking Kek idea to place in top of the wall.

We lose an average of 74 thousand dollars in the first 5 years of welfare for each illegal just blocking 9% of immigrants would pay for the wall.
Which is a vast underestimate looking at other border walls

Plus we give mexico far more than the wall costs in foreign aid on an annual basis

Their are so many ways to make mexico pay for this that the real question is how much can we profit from the wall.

The ironic thing about the border adjustment tax is that it will hurt regular Americans the most. The rich liberal elites will see a increase in their whole foods bill but it won't matter much because they can most easily absorb cost increases.

Farmers export alot because American beef and produce are the best in the world. They'll be hurt by retaliatory tariffs from the countries we put border adjustment on. Plus the strong dollar trump is creating will hurt them. You can't instantly flip over manufacturing back to America as easily as you can implement the tax. Ironic that fly over country is going to get hit the hardest while they switch manufacturing back, if they switch manufacturing back.

It's a strange world we live in when conservatives are advocating for such an incredible tax increase.

It's not a bad investment at all, considering it's just a way for Trump to take bids from desperate mafia-construction cartels over who should get those juicy free money government building contracts. The wall will never even get built.

>build wall
>when the next democrat administration gets in, they would have to justify taking down the wall and spending millions to do it
or
>give extra funds to ICE
>when the next democrat administration gets in they just defund ICE without telling anyone and the plebs don't ever hear about it

It is a symbol that says:
> Sort your own shit out instead of sending people that then join groups like "La Raza" over here to leech off the economy.

>We lose an average of 74 thousand dollars in the first 5 years of welfare
That's a made up number extrapolated from a Heritage foundation report from '93. The numbers in that report are fake news backed by this basic line of logic: illegal immigrant families have households headed by a person that didn't graduate high school. Those types of households typically use more welfare and social services that cost x. x * illegal households = y. Illegals cost y. It makes no mention of the economic benefits of having a group of people that have no rights in the court system, whose employers are not required to provide healthcare benefits and can break overtime rules which makes products cheaper for Americans to buy.

Want to solve the illegal immigration problem? Make employers pay taxes, back wages, health insurance and allow illegals to sue employers in the US court system. Make the illegal as expensive as an American and there would be no theoretical reason why an employer would higher an illegal.

On top of that, make illegals pay taxes. The reason the powers that be would never want this to happen is that they need an enemy to hate to bind them together. For liberals it's trump. For Trump its the media. For conservatives for a long time the enemy have been illegals. And yet the powers that be hire them to take care of their kids and clean their houses.
>Rosa is the best, but she's an exception to rule. The rest are scum.

PLOT TWIST: TRUMP IS ACTUALLY THE COOL-AID MAN IN DISGUISE

or how about they round up illegals, then deport them
