Why can't millennials can't find real jobs?

Maybe their parents are as inept as their children. Useless degrees.

>I just saw this on the local social media. (pic related)

Because they're lazy children who had everything handed to them and never had to work for anything like their parents had to. Pretty much worst gerne Ration ever

>BA in fine arts...

All the jobs are either dead ends, over seas, or full

Multimedia post-production editing/sfx/etc. is a perfectly fine job.

There's just a lot of fine arts degrees and not many such jobs!

It's not just that, the incentives to find full time work have more or less been removed.

Millennials are marrying much later/if at all, and I don't blame them.

To add to that: the creative industries are cut throat. Lots of people get art degrees or the like hoping to land these jobs, but to actually do so you have to have a massive work ethic, be good at networking, and be excellent at what you do. Art schools, however, are happy to take your shekels even if you display none of these qualities.

These are people who can't tell the difference between a hobby and a career. This person probably loved movies as a kid so the parents said make movies.

What does working full time have to do with marriage?

I know people with Physics degrees that live in their parents basements.

They're just lazy sons of a bitch that don't want to work and leech off of their parents until they die then live on welfare and inheritence. Pieces of shit like that should be drug outside tarred, feathered, and fucking exiled beyond the wall

>>not going into trade careers

Millennials believed the kikes running the colleges and schools but didn't pay attention to the real data in front of them.

Generally one person works full-time in a breadwinner position as has been the trend in marriages for the past several decades. There's less incentive to be the breadwinner, hence, less incentive to find full-time employment.

Most people my age that I know lived in share houses and split rent/utilities, with 5 - 6 occupants per house typically.

That's embarrassing.

> Why can't millennials can't find real jobs?

Because the job market has changed, the "real jobs" dried up.

Actually most existing real jobs are shit as well and where there was stability and accountability, you're now penalized for staying put and doing your job. The ones doing the best are the ones willing to jump ship time and again, head to wherever there's a crunch that requires them to give you an extra high salary, stay a couple of years and then use your previous salary as a negotiation tool for the next place. And so on.

It's a world where the most sly backstabber wins, on both sides of the table.

You're also dealing with an entire generation of purposeless people. Family is pushed back further and further, people don't marry, they don't take values seriously, promises seriously, they don't believe in much of anything.

Given what's happening to them, why should they? What are they working toward?

They can see their parents die in old folks homes and realize the futility of what we've built. Why save up so you can be a cripple waiting to die?
>implying you'll even get retirement when it's your turn

Urban living is a factor too. Housing prices are so high in the more popular cities that it's just not plausible to live any way other than that for many. Cities where housing prices are decently low but there's still a decent-sized decently educated young workforce, are currently experiencing temporary economic booms as companies and workers move there to take advantage, but this in turn drives up prices in those regions. Hopefully the housing prices will stabilize a bit over time and the market will even out the geographic divisions, as this amounts to an underutilization of resources in the cheaper cities and an economic strain on the lower economic classes nationwide.

>all my friends have useless degrees and are working in coffee shops or restaurants
>i skipped college and got a sweet job as a technician at a local ISP and will be able to afford to pay for college debt free when i finally go back
>also free 100/100 internet

feels good man

It's absolute financial suicide to live in the city unless you're supremely well-to-do. As for whether housing prices will stabilize, they're going to have to as people don't seem to be buying them anymore.

Holy fuck Swede you're based as shit. I really feel for you, there isn't much point typing my reply as that was it. I mean, both our nations have been fucked by globist capitalist cunts lining their own pocket at the expense of everyone. Maybe Brexit can save us, but I really, really doubt it.

That retirement point hit me hard when I figured it about 8 years ago, as both my fiancee and I realise the chance of retirement is slim. (30 btw)
>Those feels when you get jew'ed over in every aspect

what is the difference? people who go into stem fields and succeed usually have had some kind of passion their whole life too.

its one think to whine if you sculp penis statues out of feces for your grad school thesis, but this dude uses complex software and does skilled work. like everything else, post production has been crapified into the third world and shit like the avengers movies are produced by hordes of bong chongs for less.

i know plenty of cs grads that are also grinding it out with shitty internships and cant seem to find a good job. it can happen to anyone in any field

Because they don't look at the available jobs when choosing a degree. You think I wanted to be a fucking civil engineer? It's boring as shit. I knew it would be boring as shit. But I made over $100k my first year out of college, and even in an economic downturn I have more work than I want. No one to blame but themselves.

Boomers are working longer and not retiring, reducing the number of available jobs.

>Why can't millennials can't find real jobs?
as opposed to the members of this fine board?

Fuck you I'm at work right now, and it's 3.16am. Just because you're a Meet doesn't mean we all are.
>tfw left x3:xrm running and accumulating monies to go home to

Yeah, the problem is that the jobs are also in the city!

This is why companies are starting to set up shop where housing prices are lower in order to attract workers, though. e.g. Samsung's new Austin campus.

>Yeah, the problem is that the jobs are also in the city!
A solid point. When I was looking at job listings the other day, most of what I was in search of was in the city, which is about an hour commute, which I'd rather not do.

My primary job provides decent health insurance (with mediocre pay) but I'm able to make ends meet with a second job as a bartender at a very high end steak house. I've made the decision that the only future is to be my own boss and start my own company. I just haven't figured out what I want to do yet. Luckily I don't have any chemical addictions, kids, or debt so I have time to think it through.

>i know plenty of cs grads that are also grinding it out with shitty internships and cant seem to find a good job. it can happen to anyone in any field

I worked in the IT industry a long time and took classes to complete a BSCS, alongside teenagers.

None of these kids knew what software version control was, even seniors about to graduate with a BSCS. Few of them did computer stuff outside of class like write their own programs, contribute on Github etc.

Companies are desperate for good people right now, but most of these kids don't want to put the work in.

I did become friendly with one kid who went above and beyond all the time. Guess what? He has been consistently employed since school and just moved from a decent job to a higher paying job recently.

Meanwhile other kids didn't even do homeworks or study for quizzes. I don't even know why they were going to school at all. Why bother? If you're not going to study, save the time and money and stay home.

Not that companies don't fuck you over, but the reality is people don't make it in programming because

#1 they don't do the amount of work required

#2 they are really socially inept (I mean really, because a lot of programmers are a little off - they have to be near-crazy to not get work)

unless you go skilled trades. then they are EVERYWHERE!!! and pay well enough too. i jsut finished my 2 year tech degree in tool and die. shit nigga i got six job offers the last month of school. now i make 20$ hour and im likely going to get another 1.50 raise here pretty soon. most kids are too worried to get their hands dirty or skin their knees to get a fucking job.

Labor market is distorted in all kinds of ways. Immigrants and women being pushed into drive up supply and competition of workers. and free trade deals play a role in not only that but also removing demand of workers and moving it overseas.
Older people are not retiring for a number of reasons including their retirement savings was fucked by gov distortions including QE among others, so the entire top of the ladder is full with no room to climb up the ladder so everyone on lower rungs are stuck.
Quality of the education in university is so extremely watered down due to a number of reasons from government regulations pushing in too many idiots and AA in admissions to culture demanding everybody get participation trophies. Universities are full of idiots who dont even belong there and the courses have been extremely watered down to accommodate decreasing standards of education. Value of a degree is worthless since too many idiots have them and it's impossible for a employer to distinguish between the idiots and the people who are intelligent and educated because government has banned things like testing.
It's impossible for employers to discriminate idiots too because of government regulations on AA, civil rights, diversity, etc. Government regs which leads to too many examples of people who are qualified and competent and would be the best fit cant be hired because of the color of their skin.
Because of government regulations that make a job a "right" and make firing people much more difficult than getting a divorce. It makes businesses more risk-adverse in hiring because they may not be able to get rid of a person if they are a bad apple.
Burdensome gov regulations kick in at specific arbitrary number of employees prevent businesses that could use more employees from expanding beyond these artificial limits imposed by the gov.
Arbitrary minimum wage laws that prevent businesses from hiring unskilled labor that is not worth more than the minimum wage.

This. I can't stand my generation. The number of "I can't find a job," "useless college degree," and "debt/boomers are at fault" memes is absurd and I cannot relate one iota

I worked very hard. While everyone else was partying, drinking, and doing drugs I was studying like an idiot. I went to GATech and got my mech engineering degree and can ONLY get minimum wage jobs over the past 3 years. Right now I literally do engineering work (CAD/CAM/Hydraulic Fixture Design) for minimum wage. Then I see these same kids that did NOTHING but have fun get nice high paying jobs.

>his dad posts for his kid online while his mom fucks tyrone upstairs

It's more who you know than what you know.

costs of doing trade > cost of being neet > cost of career you enjoy

if you couldnt figure it out im not talking about money here

>I've made the decision that the only future is to be my own boss and start my own company.
This.

>now i make 20$ hour and im likely going to get another 1.50 raise here pretty soon

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA

>tool and die
What part of the country?

Yeah and it doesn't have to be hugely successful. I'm just trying to take care of myself and maybe a few kids I may have one day.

New thread, guys, come.

boomers still fill most jobs that they can, they didn't plan for retirement and living 30 years longer

HAHAHAHAHAH

I LITERALLY MAKE $18/hr PLUS $100-400 PER WEEK TIPS DELIVERING FUCKING SOFAS

Just don't be too charitable. I have my own business and I work with lots of failing businesses. Sometimes I catch myself trying to throw a bone to someone that it won't make any difference because they will fail anyway.

Thats about $45K a year. I don't know what part of the country he lives in but a starting salary of 45K is good in some areas and poverty level in others. Hard to judge without more info

I used to hate diversity quotas, but being a brown guy trying to break into an all-white field (mining), I get why they have those regulations.

If they didn't exist, they'd read my name and automatically 'next' me. At least now, I get a fair shake (an interview).

True in part, millennials are entitled lazy shits that have never experienced any hardship and are worse off for it; but their parents generation also had the luxury of middle income jobs that were able to support a wife, two kids and pay off a home and two cars in ten years.
Now a smile and a handshake will get you escorted out by security if you don't have a masters in civil engineering and 3-5 years relevant experience needed for that part time job at walmart.

Not anymore.

The economy is on fire. (In America). The dow is up 10% in 2 months.

Confidence is high, our illegals are being deported.

You can take a look at sat scores. They peaked in 2005 and have been on at steady decline since.

The sat is renormalized every year. They try to make 1000 the average. This means that not only are scores down, but the test is easier.

This year they are rebalancing it to remove vocabulary, make math about fewer topics, and make the reading "fact based" (this means instead of context and subtelty, they will ask only things verbatim in the passage).

They are all a lot worse than previous years, even as research get easier and academic standard's are relaxed.

I feel like the education system will just continue to get worse over time as more niggers and spics flood the system.

>Why can't millennials can't find real jobs?
They don't have real skills from ((((school))))).

And of course, the kikes, though jewish usury have printed enough money to trade amongst themselves to buy this country's hard assets, and now, under their control, they outsource labor and ship in HBN1 indentured slaves.

The kikery ends when you make it end, fellow goys.
