Though honestly, i'd probably sperg out over "road to Wigan pier" by George Orwell. It's sad to see how everyone flocks to 1984 whenever Orwell is mentioned, but fails to bother thinking about his actual work as a correspondent and investigator of how things actually were in 1930's England.
It's a really good book, if you haven't read it yet, and details a lot of the plight and circumstances that are still prevalent today, such as unemployment, government assistance and class structures.
I never thought i'd like it because Orwell is a little too idealistic and socialist for my tastes, but it's a really interesting and objective work.
