I only recenlty found out about him via "Metaphysic of Pepe" but after watching him on Joe Rogan, I am pretty sure he is legit /our guy/.

Any Canadabros got a more informed oppinion?

>/our guy/.
you're a faggot

JPs great listen to his lectures. He's solely taking on the modern atheist movement and he does a fantastic job at it.

pretty good

Physical incarnation of Kek.
Intellectual heavy weight.
Diagnosing and fighting the cancer that palgues the western world.

As based as based gets

I met him in person once, he's super nice

Great for destroying fedoras.

Sup Forums doesn't deserve him

>SORT

This is now a Peterson meme thread

>tfw want to sort myself out but don't know how

Insert meme text

...

...

pretty based desu, I never found my own lectures in university as entertaining and interesting as his

i wish i had a teacher like him instead of the commiefaggots i had to deal with back in school

...

I've been into Peterson for 4 months and I'm yet to find a flaw. he's the real deal. no meme. no fad.

i sorted my self out and now im happier then i've ever been, sorting myself out consisted of quitting alcohol, tobbaco, marijuana, pornography and masturbation. all in one week cold turkey, and started lifting, general fitness and running, been 2 months and ive never felt better, thanks jordan peterson!

>i wish i had a teacher like him instead of the commiefaggots i had to deal with back in school
This. Fucking hell

I'm pretty good physically and I'm on the way to quitting porn, been reading a lot lately.

My problem: 23 year old NEET from single mother household with social anxiety

This is his best lecture in my opinion:
youtube.com/watch?v=MLp7vWB0TeY

If anyone thinks they have a better one please post, I want the top-tier ones

>i wish i had a teacher like him
very much this, why does one man seem to have a monopoly on this kind of knowledge? he makes me feel like I know nothing about life

quitting masturbation will help a lot with the anxiety thing i think

What do you recommend listening to first? I've never heard his stuff

>tfw he explains adam and eve to you
Fucking blew my mind.
youtu.be/Gacjj2aCo7Q

He's alright, but he's literally just "Jungian Archetypes 101". Rene Girard is better.

Same age n situation minus the split parents
Instead old and dying (like soon)

How much coffee do you drink?
I'm not saying your anxiety is bullshit, but anytime someone mentions anxiety I always have to ask "how much caffeine do you drink?"

also, you needa sort out your general life plan and life goals, and start working towards them, this will also greatly reduce anxiety, the anxiety comes from not knowing how ur futures gonna pan out or something, subconciously

his maps and meanings lectures are pretty good for begginers, its outlines a lot of the basic stuff

youtube.com/watch?v=I8Xc2_FtpHI

first one here

I have my anxiety under pretty good control now. I don't get it much unless specific circumstance anymore.
but something like the idea of a job interview terrifies me to no end. Like literally mortifies me to my core.
even going to the shop can be anxiety causing. I want to start confronting the anxiety more but I'm not sure how to proceed

If you ever wanted to know what that stupid story was about.

Saw him on the Reality Calls youtube show. He said that since those on the alt right disagree with SJWs based on identity politics, it is a trap for them to use identity politics as well. He says they are being manipulated into it and they should not allow themselves to be.

But I think that identity politics is merely a tool (or perhaps a technique). The political ideology behind it is something else, and not necessarily dependent on the tool chosen. Meanwhile, from a purely realpolitik standpoint, one cannot argue with results. The SJWs are politically powerful because of their use of identity politics, as are other various leftists. If they were not, they would stop. Why should those on the right cede a powerful tool to the enemy and not take it up if it is effective?

In any event, he strongly disavows what he calls the far right. He is an academic after all. I think that he is a typical lefty who just never adapted to the cultural Marxist takeover over the past few decades.

i wonder how bad the current world/prospective future looks to jordan

how do you come in terms with the fact that he uses the holocaust as a prime example of evil

The prophet of our age. I love this man. A hero.

I genuinely want him to shit in my mouth then overflow the rest of it with hot piss

dude he shits on Stalin and the soviets 10x more than the Nazis

well he thinks that 60 million or something russians died in the gulags, that is just as retarded as not questioning the holocaust disrepancies
I mean 60 mil is like half the russian population, there is no evidence that shows a population drop of that rate, even in a half century span

>JPs great listen to his lectures. He's solely taking on the modern atheist movement and he does a fantastic job at it.
I don't think any modern atheists would disagree with a lot of what he's said, he talks about religion in a much more Darwinian sense in the sorts of stories that were passed down about humans. It really has nothing to do with "god" in the traditional sense.

Hero

JUST

He is so hot. That is my thought. I think he's prob one of the sexiest dudes alllliiiiverrrr love me some doc Peterson

>not wearing a Canadian tuxedo
slightly degenerate but I can look past it

He has strange ideas about what would constitute the perfect state that seem to sound like he's advocating a theocratic republic of some form. He plays off religion a lot in his political thoughts and makes it appear that he thinks of religion as central and mission critical to society. Maybe this is due to his belief that the divine individual represents an active goal that less ambitious citizens who compose the majority of the populace could strive to be, who walks the line of "order and chaos". However besides this theocratic yet entirely secular wet dream he has extremely compelling thoughts on the human condition, the human soul and the troublesome track of human society at the moment

Religion is essential to the function of a healthy society.

>seem to sound like he's advocating a theocratic republic of some form
READ DOSTOYEVSKY

I agree but how are you going to make a theocratic society which does not impugn on the rights of the people? As we've seen corruption in religiously lead governments is even worse as people have a much larger bullshit tolerance for those they consider religious authority

>which does not impugn on the rights of the people?

By recognizing that "rights" are meaningless constructs. And as Demaistre pointed out, theocratic monarchies had far fewer laws that restricted the individual than did modern republics.

22 year old NEET with SA too. Listening to maps of meaning lectures can get real depressing when he talks about child psychology.

>corruption in religiously lead governments is even worse

That is an extremely debatable statement, especially since the modern, secular citizen is more gullible and apathetic than ever before.

>rights are meaningless constructs
Rights are not constructs they are the inheritance of all of mankind, the role of government is to safeguard both the nation and your rights from those who would trespass them. They are not a construct. The government does not give you rights.

Crime and punishment is an eye opener. Mandatory.

>inheritance of all of mankind

From who? How do you quantify a statement like that based on ideology alone?

That is theocratic. The transcendence of 'rights' is a religious artifact.

dead.

He can't.

1. Liberalism is an ideology.

2. Rights are privileges.

Are you legitimately arguing that all humans are not born with basic rights given to them by merit of existence? Every human is born with inalienable rights. I think our governments founding documents lay them out pretty solidly. If you staunchly disagree on this I'm not sure there's much we will agree on at all

I don't think he's arguing against human rights as a very real thing to protect. But to consider that it is 'natural' and self evident that that's the purpose of government, is entirely niave.

The US is a theocratic nation, it doesn't honor any specific christian religion, but it does honor christian beliefs. The entire structure of the 'inalienable rights' granted by our creator is theocratic. And cannot exist without the understanding of a transcendent law. Law that exists outside of our control. That is the law of Gd.

He explicitly states multiple times that his view affirms the existence of the traditional god. He puts a theory behind the connection and destroys criticisms of religion, he doesn't touch on religion itself so very often.

Kek isn't real. Peterson's Metaphysics of Kek video is proof of his insanity.

>affirming the existance of a being that if existed created a world where its existance would be paradoxical

>He explicitly states multiple times that his view affirms the existence of the traditional god.
Source please.

Jordan would say that identity politics is a bad choice because the tool will change you when you use it, and you may not wish to be the person who results.

God created the existence of humans. Gave humans free will. If they choose to witness him they are rewarded. If they choose to turn a blind eye to him they are punished.

That's observably true and can be explained in a pragmatic or Darwinian sense. But you can't just make up your own god and have it work. Islam tried that. It doesn't work to follow false gods. You can't be dishonest or manipulative in your observations of the nature of humans, like in Islam or Judaism. You can't lie to goyim or kaffirs about the truth and expect your life is going to be filled with purpose and meaning. There's a reason these people suffer. They follow a fake god. That was created to manipulate others. That is objectively bad. It creates a low trust society filled with crime and chaos.

If you ignore religion, you suffer. Every attempt to figure out the best way to live your life that helps yourself, your neighbors, your community, etc... 5 years, 10 years, 20 years into the future, all circle back to religion. It has to be based on honest observations and on truth. You can't cheat your way to a better world, or to heaven.

Religion evolves because we witness more of its truth. This started a very long time ago.

But if I'm okay with the results then it is acceptable?

Worst case scenario is what, we have a 4th reich and gas the SJWs?

Explain to me why that's so bad, all things considered.

/our shaman/

Why do you imagine your life would go In a positive direction if you put your efforts into harming your neighbors? Better to speak the true word and offer peace.

On a separate note, jp has me considering religion again, I'm a lapsed catholic and view the Catholic church as intolerably corrupt. I'm considering orthodoxy, but I know little of it and the only communities around that I know of are all Russian orthodox. I'm not russian. Any tips on finding a church that is high quality and serious?

Premise 1: Others seek to harm me
Premise 2: The best defense is a good offense
Conclusion 1: Harming those who seek to harm me is the best way to prevent myself from coming to harm.

Premise 3: Preventing myself from coming to harm is a positive direction for my life.
Conclusion 2: Harming others is a positive direction for my life.

As for Orthodoxy look up Brother Nathaneal. He's pretty Sup Forums.

Are you saying one religion (is suppose you mean christianity since murica) cause thats just hypocritical.
>Religion evolves because we witness more of its truth
in islam for example that would'nt work, because the qur'an is the literal word of God to them. Since multiple understandings of the qur'an exist that would mean either that god failed at sending a massage to humans (so he isnt almighty) or the qur'an isn't the massage of God. Christianity has the same issues.
The paradox that the existance of God creates is that he knows whether you will be judged as good or bad in heavens court. He knows your future which makes free will impossible.
There is no free will if things are determined. Things are determined if a set future exists (which does according to religion since God knows it). All of this can be boiled down to the question: can God create a rock which he himself cannot lift?
Infinity as a concept (on which the idea of God highly relies upon) is completely impossible in this reality.

I've been talking to Mormons, since most Catholics are corrupt and hold God as a social construct. Which to me is obviously incorrect.

And honestly, Mormons pass the pragmatic and Darwinian tests. They build strong communities and make you want to participate in them, they bring meaning to your life. It's rather spectacular. Now, I haven't converted, but just hanging out with them has been a very positive experience. I have to sort myself out first, build good habits, get rid of bad habits. But the two Mormons I hang out with are my gym partners and they're motivating to be around. They have a rock solid foundation.

I would say skip the russian and serbian orthodox churches. Just a pile of money grabbing shitfucks.

He belongs to reddit

In Islam it has certainly worked. Islam isn't the same now as it was when the mongols sacked baghdad

Mormons don't seem bad as people the little i've spoken to them. But you'll have to follow a religion based on religious texts written like 200 years ago

Then you haven't listened to anything Jordan Peterson has said.

God is omnipotent, omnipresent, he is everything. So what is it that God lacks? restraint, limits.

So how does God come to terms with that? Well imagine when you play a game, do you want to have the ability to control every aspect of the game? No, you create rules, or others create rules and you choose to follow them. There's no fun if you don't. That's what god has done. He has created rules by which he chooses to follow.

And he has created rules by which we must follow. Literally speaking. But we have to observe things, keep our eyes open. Pay attention. That's how you witness the rules so we don't keep failing.

That's basicly why I mentioned that, the Russians around here use thier chrch as a tax fraud scheme basicly. Good for them in a way, it means that thier children get houses and the community is strong, but not for people like me I don't think.
No Mormons in the east. Your right about the strong community though. Mormons are reportably the happiest group of people in america.

New York Times called him an Anti-trans white supremacist. Clearly /ourguy/.

Islam sucks as an idea. The little difference they bring to the table as opposed to christians is just a bunch of outdated, region-specific ideas that just dont work with normal forward thinking people.

At least he is a western supremacist.
Didnt know the nyt was even aware of him.

Did you have Mormon missionaries knock on your door?

you need to sort your anxiety out

be very honest with yourself about what makes you anxious, write it down don't just think about it, write about why these things make you anxious

understand that anxiety is simply an expression of the fear of the unknown or unfamiliar

as pinocchio you need to face monstro, go deep into its gut and rescue your father
as user you need to face your anxiety, challenge it, go to the deepest roots of it and rip it out of you, it's a parasite that's lodged itself inside you, you will never fix it by avoiding it it will only get bigger and bigger as it sucks on your lifeblood
go into the depths of your personal hell and face reality, you will know what to do when you're there, the things you're most afraid of doing are the things that you need to do to achieve your happiness

that journey is what will harden you and make you tough, you'll be able to face reality over and over and over again without stumbling over your own anxiety anymore

No actually, met them on the street. They were on a trip or something. Talk with them for a while. The y were pretty chill

Yeah, I've listened to basically all of his stuff and he's said that God is basically an anthropomorphized representation of the dominance hierarchy, and the idea of sacrificing to God is basically just making a bargain with society.

When he calls himself a Christian, I think there's always a colossal asterisk next to it that would take about 40 hours to explain

Kek. Are you me?

Yes, but the foundation is based on very old stories. He didn't just pull these archetypes out of his ass.

If something is so beneficial that it saves your people from nihilism or tyranny, which are the two most prominent directions atheists turn towards. Then that's an absolute truth.

It's OK to refresh religion from time to time. All religion is dead in a sense, it's written by dead people and its bond to the current society starts to decay. It needs to be refreshed to more accurately match the generation. This requires refreshing the small dominance hierarchy aspect of religion, such as the imagery or names/places used. The hyper dominance hierarchy, where god absolutely made for all humans fall under, is still preserved at its foundation.

That's why you can see how carefully he avoids getting into it. Would be cool to witness his theological power level though.

He's highly memeable which is good for people like me that don't give a fuck about ((((academia)))) or philosophy

But God also knows all. As you said he is omnipotent. Which means he knows everything that was, that is and that will be. He also created us all (including you and me), but since he knows the future he also knew whether you would lead a good life and end up in heaven or an evil one and end up on hell. Before you were even born. That would mean he created certain people to enjoy heaven and others to burn for an eternity in hell. And then they say God is good and just.

In the us it's even more dead than could be normally expected because many of our parents who grew up with the benefits of thier religious community didn't value it and presented it to thier children in a negative light.
So it's 2 gen dead instead of 1 essentially.

Unis are bullshit. Learn a trade.

I think he's overrated.
He's deploying psychological tactics that is making you like him.

Look past his serious demeanor and you'll find a worthless father with 2 millennial children that will never acquire a higher position of power than him.

He's a loser and a has been. I'm officially off the meme train.

I swear there was one pic like that where the caption was "When you say "that's that" but the marxist keep talking". Which is much funnier than what you posted.

Liberals here hate him, good enough for me.

You have a strange sense of what is valuable.
You would take him seriously if he was WINNING I take it?

Yes but that is because atheism has become somewhat of a trend. It almost became cool to be atheist at one point and trends tend to bring the wrong kind of people into things. Nihilists are just stupid. Tyranny i don't know where you got from.

You have to realize that God transcends our understanding. We can never know god because knowing God would mean knowing everything, the past present and future.

So when you say he's good or just. I'm just saying I appreciate him. Now, was I designed to appreciate him? and you designed to question him? I don't know. But I'm not about to see where your thinking takes me, since it has observable lead to very hellish places. People who show resentment towards god do not exist in pleasant place nor are pleasant to be around. The hell that exists in their hearts seep out and people can absolutely sense that.

Oh well, that's a lesson many people these days desperately need. A big problem with Wetsern Cuckoldry is the base assumption that the whole world shares our values, or at least will share them once they are brought here.

They don't appreciate the cultural archetypes that form the foundation for their secular humanist philosophy. They believe it comes from a place of pure objective absractiom instead of a history of unique and very powerful memes based around Christian archetypes.

That's a good thing to bring up. Coffe doesn't give me anxiety in low doses but if I have more than too cups it can amplify anxiety.

Does Sup Forums zone out when he starts talking about the horrors of the holocaust?
