I wouldn't worry too much about the birth rate. The difference between 2 and 2.5 (which is huge) is only like 25% increase in 30 years, so about 0.75% per year, and it declines rapidly with each generation. Direct immigration is much more influential, in Sweden it's over 1% total population increase per year, which is ~7% immigrant population increase per year, 10 times higher than a 2.5 vs 2.0 birth rate difference.

why would Europeans want to increase their population? Europeans conquered the world by superior technology and organisation, not by being numerous. Kenya has not become a superpower by doubling its population since the 1990s, and it isn't going to become one just by its people shitting out babies.
