I am at possibly one of the most left wing campuses in the U.K. It has a labour society but not a conservative society. The lgbt society is integrated with the student union. It's a PC nightmare, and it opened my eyes to how toxic the left is. I think at the point where the general left overtakes you and calls you a fascist, you only have the option of going right.

Im not OP but for me honestly it was Ukraine in 2014. After seeing a video of Svoboda agents (working for the revolutionary govt) attacking a TV reporter. Overall I am very anti what America did in Ukraine. My friends denied the video had any relevance and claimed I had some blind love of Russia. From then on there was a split between my friends and me. For a while I read a lot about Ukraine and Syria and soon felt like a bit of foolish conspiracy nut. But then Brexit. Something real. For a while I was like haha Nigel Farage what a good meme, a pity it won't last. But then it did. The feeling of elation I have felt with this and the Trump election is so confusing, its like suddenly there is solid proof that there others of us out there.

Gamergate was also a huge awakening since it revealed up to many people around the globe how utterly full of shit the mainstream media is, and that they rather push a certain narrative than to really show the truth if it goes against said narrative.

What is to ask? We live in the same media bubble. Lefties lost their minds under the influence of corporatist propaganda.
