Even if you disregard the harsh sanctions put on us by our top trading partners like the US and Japan, If we continued to have apartheid, I really think we would've eventually gone into a civil war. People were increasingly rioting and being more violent every year. I just don't think the white minority would've been able to control the situation for much longer.
Not to mention, other African countries were getting more hostile and thinking about invading South Africa.
If all black Africans started fighting whites, there would either be white genocide or the apartheid regime would resort to using their nukes and I can't imagine how the world would've responded to that.

Aside from the natural beauty, I can understand why Afrikaners wouldn't want to leave South Africa. Their ancestors have been living on the continent since the 1600's. Their culture was developed there. Their language was developed there. Africa is their home and they deserve their own sovereign state.
