My Father worked in the FBI for nearly 30 years and with the recent shed of light from Wikileaks #Vault7 .. I just felt like this was sharing.
Is everyone seriously just now figuring out the US Government spies on them? Whenever my Dad told me stories about his job he would inadvertently go over sensitive information. I remember back in the early 2000's he was telling me about turning phones on, activating microphones, cameras, etc etc. The internet was just becoming a thing at the time and was just starting to hit mobile phones. Terrorists, drug dealers, human traffickers etc quickly realized that an extremely fast, anonymous form of communication was through the internet. He told me many stories of arrests they made of tracking cellphones by 'pinging' their towers (at the cost of $500 a ping), obtaining confessions and key evidence through turning on phone mics remotely even in the most private of places the criminals thought they were safe.
So now I'm realizing that I knew about the government spying on it's own people before it was cool. Was I just retarded in not sharing this way sooner?

go back to your rate muh dick threads on Sup Forums you fuck
everyones already known the government spies on us, anyone who doesnt think thats missing half a lobe.
we have proof now, and very well organized and documented proof. thats why everyones excited.
Aiden Price
I'm not sure that everyone's really surprised.
The big revelations came out with Snowden, and the media eventually beat it down enough to make people think " this is something we just live with now" instead of getting angry.
I guess the surprise this time is to the extent of everything electronic is spying on you. TVs that are powered off or are at least supposed to be are now listening to you creeps out normies enough to shake their apathy a bit.
Matthew Myers
you miss the point. it's now out in the open, undeniable.
were you to make a such claim, pre-snowden, you'd have been labeled a conspiracy nut.
Christopher Miller
The change is that we have documented evidence. Claims alone only work on believers.
Carter Torres
this is hard evidence. even the very dumb or very ignorant left can not deny the obama administration spied on every man woman and child.

Reminder that Batman Begins came out in 2005 and nobody has a right to be surprised about any of this.
Tyler Ortiz
I meant Dark Knight and 2008, but who gives a shit.
Gavin Thomas
god-tier taste in anime right there, user. You deserved this you.
Aaron Thomas
No he doesn't, that shit's a major classic meme and him using it is no indication that he has taste in shit.
Fuck you for failing memeology.
Michael Miller
I liied the part where leaks said the cia can leave the fingerprint of.hackers which covers their footprints and and blames.other hackers.
Rememwnwr when they found russian fingerprints in the hacks not.so long ago ??? ;)
Aiden Baker
No everyone knew, especially after Snowden.
Charles Collins
> Sup Forums obviously copy pasta
Gavin Roberts
I honestly thought that this was all common knowledge. Are you Americans really that naive?
Julian Sullivan
these: We now have their shopping list
Juan Reed
Anyone who isnt completely retarded knew this all along.
Leo Young
What was your fathers name? Did you know that sharing work related secrets to family members is against the regulations and that your father may lose his pension?
Thomas Johnson
Its not about "knowing" its about having proof. Also we didnt know that they used russian tools, and purposely left traces behind to make it seem like it was used by them. Amidst all these accusations about russian hacking it is now revealed that CIA can hack someone and make it look like russians did it. And where did those accusations come from? Unnamed sources in CIA.
Josiah Howard
Every retard knew what they COULD do, never was there actual proof of their actual capability.
Julian Phillips
The CIA is nothing more than a glorified MAFIA organization, anything they do is corrupt.
Logan Perez
The supposed 'Russian hackers' who did the DNC hack used an older version of an easily available Ukrainian wordpress injection kit.
That's right, the malware in question is being sold. It was also an archaic version of it being used.
Call me jaded, but I don't think FSB or whoever state backed Russian hackers there are would use such low level shit to hack anything.
Kevin Nelson
why would the FSB dirty its own dainty hands, when the world is full of hackers? advertise a target and promise a goodly sum, in the right fora it's all it takes
Kevin Hill
I now understand what Anon5 meant about living inside the Truman Show......but the fact itself was not new....We have Echelon here at the coast. (where US internet comes via cables into Europe territory)
Dylan Nelson
That doesn't fit the narrative pushed by US alphabet spooks though.
even the cyber-attacks during the Georgian war were perpetrated by "patriotic Russian hackers", not by the Russian army or anything of the sort it's standard Russian MO at this point to deny involvement and use anything to do so, from the flimsiest of pretenses (little green men in Donbass) to the longest proxy chains ever (Hezbollah, really?) to suggest that they changed this MO, and that they changed it for an operation where stealth was critical, is beyond stupid
Xavier Nguyen
Again, that doesn't fit the narrative.
The CIA narrative is that archaic versions of Ukrainian wordpress injection malware anyone can grab a hold of is the "call sign of a Russian group of hackers we've given the codename GRIZZLY STEPPE".
Mind you, the exploits used in that archaic versions has been patched a long time before the "attack" took place.
Samuel Wilson
No you weren't. But if you didn't take actions to hide your own trail in the meantime then yeah, you were.
You are under no obligation to share shit with anybody.
Christian Diaz
I'm not sure it's the CIA narrative - it originates from that stupid "security" firm, whatsitsname anyway, it's impossible to attribute such attacks with any degree of certainty storytime: I once, a few years ago, came across your average, run of the mill, utterly boring spambot network happily selling counterfeit viagra and watches to dumbasses. except, for 24 hours, it was used in a spear phishing attack against a very short and very specific list of .mil and .edu targets
Lincoln Perry
a quiet, understated part of the narrative is that if they've thought about or even committed any level of 'hacking' using methods to obfuscate their origins, then it's on the table, period.
your flag says you're in france, or britain, or one of those european countries - not sure, you all look alike to me...and i'll bet you're not really there.
just like we can use proxies and tor, so can they mask their originating addresses. tacking code into their software as a false fingerprint just makes sense.
Wyatt Torres
Then you're back to the part where "the hack took place because we said so and it was done by X because we also said so".
Never trust a salesman whose very existence is based on making it clear to you that his services are of the utmost importance to your way of life.
Landon Mitchell
bump a rino
Robert Phillips
Almost everyone was aware of this, now we have concrete proof
Andrew Barnes
i disagree, i think we're back to the part where "a hack took place" and "nobody is really sure who did it or why".
and that's fine.
Jordan Watson
It's not that my most paranoid fear has just been confirmed true - but it's the fact that this technology used to tap into our phones, computers and cars has been leaked to unknown groups across the world for some time now. I knew the age of privacy was dead but this is on a whole other level of fucked up.
Nathan Garcia
Congrats, you just revealed your father's treason.
Hope he's already dead, so we don't have to hang him.
Lucas Rodriguez
I always were afraid of gov spying on me or relatives/people you care but time goes and you start to not care anymore because you don't have enough capital to fight them, it is inevitable: We are the dead.
Caleb Lewis
It seriously is. I have to fix all my old stuff cause i don't want to buy new things full of mics. Everything except my work computer(forced to use windows for business/education) and fire stick have custom OS. I try to tape up any mics or cameras but the firestick has a hidden mic in the remote that I cant cover or remove without destroying the remote. Now I just put it in a sound proof box that makes loud beeps when not using it to annoy whoever is listening.
