My history teacher showed this entire documentary in high school and presented it as a documentary on Hitler. Fucking teacher was amazing. He had a PhD and spoke fluent German with tenure. Nobody could touch him. The guy described history like a fucking old wise sage. 10/10 would sit in a high school class again.

Orwell Rolls in His Grave from 2003. Basically a documentary on the take over of media. This describes the beginning of the end of mainstream western media which began after 9/11 and coincided with a bunch of big buys and mergers in media as well. They pushed legit journalism to the fringes and the displaced reporters blazed the way for stuff like Druge and Breibart etc. Pretty interesting look at the media.

Start with History of South Africa Pt 1 of 12 Many Societies
This guy has a bunch of great videos that are on the whole balanced, though he tends to lie a tad by omission. If you want to understand the history of South Africa watch his videos with a grain of salt.

How do you remember the content from documentaries?
I find it difficult to retain ideas in their entirety articulated in documentaries, whereas it’s quite easy to do that with written text.
Could you still write a decent summary a week after watching a documentary?
I just watched an hour of Jordan Peterson’s documentary about playable and non-playable games, and I’m struggling to put all the pieces together even just 10 mins after having finished watching it.
I'm pretty sure everyone feels that way after watching Jordan Peterson.
The only way to understand peterson is to not think about what he is saying but what he is trying to say. It is like watching zizek.
Everything he says is an incoherent spastic mess, but if you reason with your instinct you will pull a few good inspirations out of it.
Agree with you. I think remembering it is repetition and a kind of common sense fill the gaps history aspect. The repetition is that a lot of the documentaries reinforce each other or aspects that build a world view.
