Musically speaking I like the French "Marseillaise" and the Russian national anthem. For lyrics and history though, the Star Spangled Banner is about a battle and war with the Flag standing triumphant and defiant. Can't beat that.

I remember my constitutional law professor told us that parliament made Norges Skaal our official anthem, and that it has not really been changed.
