I meant what I said literally; I've just never heard that argument before. I'm just unsure how valid it is considering this is the only source I've ever seen saying this.

Lifting weights not only builds strength but also cuts fat. Seriously give it a try for a few months at least. For years all I did was run and do body weight stuff like pulls and push-ups. Still looked like a skinny nu male at 6', 160 lbs. When I started lifting weights with good diet and creatine (did stronglifts 5x5) I got up to 185 and muscular in a matter of months. After a year i was in the 190s range with big arms, shoulders, and good abs. Completely transformed myself. Women started hitting on me in public, at the doctor's office, whatever. I didn't become some insane chick magnet but women coming onto you semi regularly does wonders for confidence.

I started with going to gym twice a week. Want to build up to 3visits/week and more.

for the "too anxious to start" one easy trick is to tell yourself you're going to work for just 2 minutes, the same way you can tell yourself you're going to spend only 2 more minutes on Sup Forums. It helped me since you end up doing more than 2 minutes work hopefully. Give yourself some objectives (short and long term), remember why you are doing what you are doing(you have an ambition? it can be doing some good in the world or just being able to get a certain job) write it down, think about it everyday. I'm still struggling a bit with that, but as long as everyday you fight to work a bit more than the day before you're on the good road. Good luck !

Looking for some advice from anons

I've been battling my way back from depression and suicidal ideation for the past ~2 years, and am currently/continuously trying to root out self-destructive thought patterns and beliefs which hold me back from achieving my goals. I have a tendency to set goals, and then immediately after, start to doubt whether those are the goals I really want, and end up running in one place. I'm not suicidal anymore (thankfully) but I'm getting frustrated that I can't seem to 'lock on' to one goal and just work towards it.
Right now my goal is to set my life up in such a way that I am able to have as many transcendental experiences as possible like love, beauty, truth, joy, oneness etc. My vehicle to secure the conditions necessary to achieve my goal was/is to pursue a career in reconstructive (not cosmetic) plastic surgery, and have six white children who I would home school to help reclaim the West, and therefore increase the amount of love, joy, and beauty in the world. I've also at various times thought about getting into politics, writing a book, learning how to play classical music, take up boxing, public speaking, cooking, yoga, and history.

As of this point, I'm going to the gym about 3x/week to do compound body exercises, have completely cut out alcohol, drugs, excess sugar, TV, video games, and fast food, am currently in my second year of university, moved back home to reconcile with my parents/save money, I have my own vehicle which I paid for, a part-time job, and a group of friends that I am slowly becoming more and more distant from as I have taken the redpill. I've also been spending way too much time on Sup Forums, and my sleeping schedule is currently fucked up because I've been stressing about the global situation, trying to understand the larger trends/forces at play so that I can plan effectively for the future.
