Now, it's embedded to deep in our cultures and there is nothing wrong with that. Binge drinking is gross but there is nothing wrong with using a couple of drinks as social lubricant, especially in northern Europe where people are all introverts.

As an American, it's so ingrained in our culture that people think you're weird if you choose not to drink in certain situations.
I've heard this is even more so the case in other Western countries and far eastern countries like South Korea and Japan.
It will be a long time before alcohol is banned in these countries.
