After it separates, it actually boosts downward, and somehow (iirc) 6 sonic booms are made.
If you observe from Port canaveral 6 mi away, they all arrive at roughly the same time and it sounds like a yuge firework finale.

It's not just that, it's also the mass of the satellite. This is a GTO launch. They routinely do recovery on GTO launches, but this satellite is a little too big.
