Factory work can be difficult. Depends on what sort of factory, what product you're making, whether you are allowed breaks, how old the machines are (older machines will be harder to keep running), and many other factors.

I used to work in factories quite a bit (and got paid a pretty good wage for it) and if it was as easy as pushing a button and getting free money everyone would do it. This is an absurd statement. Like I said, I used to do it myself. Most of the factory guys I know work hard and hate socialism, some of them do drink a bit too much, but some are fitness fanatics. None of them are alcoholics. You can't operate dangerous machinery while you're drunk or you're at serious risk of death. This is obvious. A lot of factories regularly do drug tests, etc. for that reason.

Yeah, I don't get it either, and I come from a not very rich family where both my parents were involved in trying to use their respective unions to improve their situation. To my mind, the whole point of organized labor is to be able to exert a collective force against the collective of the corporation in order to get a deal that is beneficial to both sides.

Same as how a political party works. The president of my union, in America, backed me. But the legal process did not allow him to overrule the person above me without risking political suicide. It is entirely political in America. My boss wanted to make nice with someone who regularly violated labor laws, including some like having someone with the flu handling raw meat and a manager sexually harassing female coworkers. I can grieve these. Obviously they are wrong. If I go to a government agency on my own though, I will be fired. So if my union boss disagrees with me, nothing happens. Even if it is someone with the literal flu handling meat. Entirely illegal, but if my boss rejects it my only option is to go to the government, get kicked out of the union, and get fired. Now, normally you would assume you can sue and get your job back. I could do so, but NOT my union membership, which is needed for both the job and for any action on said act.
