The image of the broken chair is from a news article a few years ago where a cheap chinese pneumatic chair exploded and killed the person sitting on it. It is not Boogie's chair.

It exploded due to poor construction and some sort of contamination of the lubricant or seals, I can't quite remember. Essentially the piston was under pressure and suddenly vented directly upwards, through the seat of the chair, into the person.
