Gen X here, I work with many millenials and they are goddamn disaster. Very self-centered, entitled, demanding, and the sad result of helicopter parenting and too many video games and chicken "tendies". They got awards and congratulations throughout life for just breathing because mom/dad didn't want their baby's ego being brused. Anyway, I digress. Gen X here. Millennials grew up in a shitty time where every problem is expected to have an easily googleable workaround. When they come up with a problem they can't work around (i.e. how to become a musician without practicing, how to change genders) they fall to absolute pieces and demand free antidepressants.

There is no cure for them except time, and they will die among their cats and empty hormone boxes largely unmourned. Gen Z seems pretty based, though. I expect a lot of Gen X -> Gen Z couples in 5-10 years.

I got a decent job starting making 35k a year base with up to 15k in bonuses, a top income at my position after 5 years of 60k, and the ability to advance that could end in six figure positions. My shop is literally hiring positions like mine by the ass load, as are all the shops I am aware of. I had 5 offers when I took this one. There's also at least 4 new ones opening. Plumbers, electricians, all are also viable options. Sales positions are everywhere as well.

Well, the workforce did just about double, so yeah it's a bit problematic. When you add in the fact that kids often are raised by daycares and the home is left without a warm soul to take care of it and keep things in order, or to support the hard working husband when he gets home (because she gets to complain too since she worked soo hard also!) things are all fucked. Gen X is more based? I don't buy this since everyone is an individual, not a collective. Different areas of the US are very much different and kids are effectively growing up in different "generations" depending on where they live, the values they grew up with, etc. Labeling everyone as one group is silly in regards to individual things. More resources? Maybe some of them. Plenty of Gen-Y have a nice savings as well though, so keep that in mind. I own my house and have thousands in savings and a decade+ of good work experience. Also I'm young and fertile without being too young, while your generation is getting over the hill. Remember, sperm actually gets old and chances of defects go up around 40.
