Without memes and shitposting, can anyone explain what's happening with the GOP Healthcare bill? All these shitty threads with little to no information and I'm having a hard time consolidating what news there is.
I know it failed from not enough votes but I need more info.

Trump pulled it because the freedom Caucus wouldn't support it unless it was a clean repeal

The bill's dead. They'll move on to other things until they can get a new bill crafted.

>Ryan couldnt get enough republicans to back his replacement for Obama care
>Trump said he was done if it didnt pass today

Most likely wont be having a replacement for it when it gets repealed now and will go back to how it was before it existed.

>House bill dumped because it didn't have enough votes
>Trump and Ryan saying Obamacare is here to stay for the foreseeable future

Oh well. Maybe he'll pass a trillion dollar infrastructure plan next....LOL

GOP will "move on from healthcare" until at least 2018.

>AHCA was a direct threat to ACA, so obviously no dems would vote for it.

>a small, but significant minority of republicans in the freedom caucus thought the AHCA was too similar to ACA and wanted more power to the states when determining their own health care plan.

thats the gist of it.

Trump and Ryan couldn't organize a majority in both the House (and Senate) into a conservative bill. One wing has a problem with any government assistance. The other doesn't want to watch their districts lose that much healthcare.

End result is that Obamacare is still in place, and the President and Republicans look like fools.

If only they'd had like 7 or so years to come up with a workable plan for healthcare.

It was a piece of shit that most of pol even recognized as being a piece of shit and the system actually worked as intended for once. I was hoping they would have tried to improve the parts that made it a piece of shit, but they didn't and that's why it didn't pass. It would have been worse for trump if it did anyway. Temporary embarrassment is better than owning a shitty healthcare bill for the next eight years.

Thanks Sup Forums.
Love ya.

There is no workable "conservative" plan.

Why don't you go to an actual news site instead of an imageboard that specializes in shitposting?

Infrastructure will happen because he will have many dems voting with him which will counter out the libertarian cucks.

this.

I think Trump doesn't really care about it that much. He tries to push things trough congress and if it gets rejected he just moves on to the next.

There is. Go all private.

Either go full private or single payer. Everything in the middle is bound to be shit.

...

Are you implying that mainstream news sites are going to have an unbiased perspective? Every headline is going to be

>IT'S OVER FOR DRUMPF

With a mountain of spin

There aren't enough upvotes to pass the new bill. Trump is going to enact "Operation I Told You So" and allow it the ACA to continue to exist - but under Obama's name. If people eventually get pissed off enough to vote for a change, then Trump can say "I told you Obamacare was a bad idea" and change it.

That is still doomed to failure but for different reasons, and boasts a somewhat longer gap between implementation and inevitable failure.

Obamacare will stay for the foreseeable future. They might take a pass at it in 2018, but Trump will want to distance himself as much as possible from this "loser" of a bill.

Reddit is down the hall and to the right

Trump probably didn't have a clue about what he was doing but he pretty much destroyed paul ryan's carreer.

Trump looks good jerking Ryan with his bill. They both know it won't pass. Just more publicity for failed govt involvement in healthcare. Hopefully Rand gets his bill felated a little bit soon. Meanwhile Gorsuch, taxes, muzzies and illegals get fondled.

>There aren't enough upvotes

Ryan and the GOP had the entirety of Obama's run to think up an alternative but it was clear that their alternative was just Obamacare-lite, in some ways it was actually even worse.

I want that bastard to resign.

Anything Paul Ryan associates himself with is mediocre.

Trump was a fool to ever ally himself with this fairweather faggot. Even if this is 4D chess and Trump wanted to make Ryan look like an idiot, it is still a colossal failure because in the process it makes Trump look like an idiot and it wasted everyone's time. Obamacare is going to fail, and knowing how fucking childish politicians are the GOP will sit around jerking each other off waiting for it to happen to make Democrats look bad. As if they don't make themselves look bad on their own.

Please

Full private works for some thing, but medicine is not one of them. Too many emotions tied up in it. Single payer is the way to go.

I work in healthcare. There is no way to go full private, because full privatization makes the assumption that you can cut services or shape your business as you like.

Doctors are held to too many standards by the government to do so.

>I can't drop a patient receiving care from me
>ERs have to serve any patient who comes in, regardless of ability to pay
>Mistakes I make/patients I piss off can lead to me losing my entire ability to practice. I can't go on strike without being a horrible human. I am expected to be perfect... or nearly at all times.

Insurance companies also have no incentive to insure people they think will lose them money.

In the end? Too much is stacked against medicine going full private.

It was a piece of shit bill, but what we have right now is also a piece of shit, just not worse so that's what we have for now. It definitely needs to get replaced but by an actually good measure.

>I want that bastard to resign.

this tbqh

Paul Ryan is a shit stain for the GOP.

Yes. That's my point. If this passed and were signed, we'd just have another piece of shit for another eight years.

>implying Trump's best move wasnt to show party loyalty and prove the GOP congress leadership is fucking retarded

The reddit spacing strikes again

this. I wont be surprised Trump intentionally let it blow up because he knew the replacement was worse but now he can blame others that his election promise didn't go through.

that's because republicans are completely out of their depth, they don't have a clue about how the economy works in the 21st century, they couldn't work out the problem that is the U.S. healthcare system if their lives depended on it, they couldn't even properly project ryancare's impacts, dems had to do it for them

they think they can keep parroting "there's no need for gubiment fellas just learn a trade and you'll be set for life" while shilling for their corporate overlords without no one being the wiser

they are the scum of the earth, they are delusional, the only way moving forward for conservatism in america is national socialism

lol republican'ts

Trump couldn't corral Congress into making it pass. Too many people with their hands in their pockets looking at the floor. Went too far for some, not far enough for others.

Yuge blow to WH and GOP leadership that they weren't seeing eye-to-eye on this with the the rest of the GOP. Especially WH, given how early and big this was. A massive test failed.

I get my news from Sup Forums

Why waste time proving something everyone already knows? And like I said, this hurts Trump as well.

If Trump were smart he'd put "None of the above" as an option on ballots for the future, he has the power to do so. I guarantee you Paul Ryan would be one of the guys to have "None of the above" picked over him. Complete political hack and a fairweather faggot. The second the waters looked rough he jumped ship every time, don't expect this time to be any different.

This is a thread for adults who want to engage in serious discussion. Go back to the cuck threads, little one.

Republicans get elected on the idea government sucks, then get elected and prove it

actually governing and making compromise instead of saying no to everything is hard breh

It was shit from the ass of Paul Ryan, and didn't repeal Obamacare. It's a good thing that it's been abandoned. We need something that'll nuke what's currently in place.

kek, indeed. 99percent of the people on Sup Forums are manbabies. that's why we're here.

So is Trump not directly dealing with the repeal? Wasn't repealing it fully one thing that needed to be done quickly?

This is the better option than it being passed. If this even happens.

It worked just fine until King Nigger became president.

Why don't we just steamroll Obamacare and leave it to what it was before his presidency?

Are you implying we were full private before Pingponga?

It wasn't great then either, hence why Obama was ever able to get traction for his plan.

Staffer here.

basically, The Freedom Caucus and part of the Tuesday group were against the bill. Having this many members against it would mean it would die on the House floor during a vote. So they decided to pull the bill last minute after delaying it. Freedom Caucus wanted a full repeal, the AHCA is not a full repeal but rather a glorified amendment to the ACA.

Man I miss Jeb. He's a real life cartoon.

Paul Ryan got Cucked

Yes there is. Conservatives had a few specific demands. But Ryan and the establishment NEVER makes the moderates cave. Nope. Always the conservatives. They're always the ones who have to surrender. Meanwhile the moderates who campaign against obamacare and then work in secret to keep it preserved get their dicks sucked.

Fuck them. They won't receive any criticism for refusing to compromise, yet they provided just as much obstruction.

Really doubt dems will vote for anything that Trump wants, their base just hates him more than anything. Republicans also seem to hate infrastructure so Trump is fucked anyway.

I'm so tired, haven't slept well all week. You must be tired too, so much to worry about. Let's get some rest, close our eyes and sleep.

The bill sucks, and it failed.
What's hard to understand?

It basically fucks over people. More than Obamacare did.

>Moderates, you need to compromise by giving us literally everything we want with nothing in return
Do you not get why that's a retarded idea and will never work?

But Kaga I don't wanna

I could but i don't want to explode your brain.

We are finally loosing again.

Rejoice!

The sooner it's gone the better, yes. The problem is that establishment republicans don't want to get rid of it, or are afraid to try because they think it'll jeopardize their careers to repeal healthcare anything, even though they were happy to submit full repeal bills for years when they knew they didn't have enough votes to actually pass them during Obama's tenure.
