Your ISP Will Start Selling Your Browsing History on December 4
Unless you use a VPN, your ISP will know every site you visit and sell that off to whoever they want. Only Trump can veto it. It starts December 4, 2017.
If you have a decent ISP that won't fuck you over, you're fine. For example, this Sonic ISP won't sell your data. They're known for having good privacy. twitter.com/dane/status/844637278509064192 ------------
The US Senate yesterday voted to eliminate privacy rules that would have forced ISPs to get your consent before selling Web browsing history and app usage history to advertisers. Within a week, the House of Representatives could follow suit, and the rules approved by the Federal Communications Commission last year would be eliminated by Congress.
The vote was along party lines, with 50 Republicans approving the measure and 48 Democrats rejecting it. The two remaining Republicans in the Senate were absent and did not cast a vote.
ISPs “want to be the advertising powerhouse.” When AT&T charged extra for privacy Starting in 2013, AT&T charged fiber Internet customers at least $29 extra each month unless they opted in to a system that scanned customers' Internet traffic in order to deliver personalized ads.
ISPs “want to be the advertising powerhouse, which is why they fought so hard against these rules,” Harris said. “They want to compete with Google and Facebook and other edge providers in the advertising space. This is going to be their new frontier, a new way for them to increase their profits.”
The NSA and CIA already have all of our info so who gives a fuck
Asher Reyes
They will know Sup Forumsacks are the only ones who visit BLACKED
Cameron Harris
Private companies are different than the NSA.
That means me as a private affiliate can buy your information from your ISP.
Christopher Richardson
>The two remaining Republicans in the Senate were absent and did not cast a vote. why is this allowed?
Ryder White
I do, sometimes. >The production value is really high. >Free HD videos everywhere >Girls fake orgasm even harder than before >Cute girls If you really care about the guy in a porn movie, you're gay.
Justin Moore
Or perhaps you're just rationalizing your nigger fetish you fucking leafcuck
Jayden Williams
>Private companies are different than the NSA. No shit, and a lot less of a threat.
>That means me as a private affiliate can buy your information from your ISP. Literally already happening no matter what mainstream browser you were using.
Luke Jenkins
bump for relevance
Grayson Lewis
Well i hope they like futanari hentai...
Eli Young
> They will know Sup Forumsacks are the only ones who visit BLACKED
They'll wonder why the CIA is always posting BLACKED threads on a Nepalese under water anime board.
Dominic Morris
>I'm not a cuck I just watch niggers with black as night horsecocks plowing skinny white girls in ritualized manner for the aesthetic enjoyment Off yourself, cuk
Jacob Howard
Lol trump veto something his constituents care about ya right lmfao
Anthony Baker
Not really, I barely watch any porn with niggers. I am simply stating it's really well made and if you really care about the guy, you're gay. Or maybe you're just upset "your" women are getting fucked by men from another race.
Bentley Johnson
You might be fine with mass surveillance on every site and keyword you search, but a lot of people aren't.
The 4th amendment should matter to more people. --- The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Juan Thompson
>VPN Or just use https
Brayden Rivera
There's a lot of them that are your usual porn cliché. >Dumb plot as to why the girl is with the guy alone in a house >Girl is horny as fuck >Guy there >They fuck There's no ritual and they have regular sized dicks (for porn standarts)
Ryan Perez
>ALL republican senators voted yes >ALL democrat senators voted no >Even Rand friggin Paul voted yes
B-but I thought Republicans were the good guys? Help
Julian Myers
>Trump shit -- everyanon jumps in. >Real shit, crickets
Sup Forums is just teenage boys, fat white supremacists, and Russian shillbots at this point.
No fun anymore.
Bentley Hughes
I'm going to start using a vpn, probably any other software that I can find
Luis Collins
GOTTA GO FAST
Thomas Wright
>thought Republicans were the good guys? Help They are on a lot of stuff. Then they suck balls on privacy, police state, net neutrality and a few other things.
Thomas Cox
Yesterday I bought a droplet from DigitalOcean and followed the guide to install OpenVPN on it so I have my own VPN now. You can't post from Sup Forums on it though because DO is blocked as an ISP due to "abuse" but it still works for everything else if you need IPsec. The droplet is $5/month btw. I'm not shilling here, this is literally what I did. I don't know if there are better options out there but it's an option if you don't want to pay out the wazoo to some shitty VPN service
Julian Collins
>just use https It still shows the site you connected to, just not the path. So Sup Forums.org would show, but not Sup Forums.org/pol/
Hudson Clark
Didn't the UK make it so political parties couldn't have their data sold, but the citizens' data could?
Gabriel Lee
Amazon EC2 is free and you can install the same thing on it. It won't work here of course.
Dylan Reyes
That's why I use my neighbors wifi. Mine is for work only and clean as a whistle.
Cameron Howard
ISPs start using privacy as selling point, free market in action bois
Isaiah Myers
use external dns servers or setup your own. >Deadwood is a program that allows one to have a recursive DNS cache on their Windows system. then vpn & or else.
Camden Evans
I hope when they buy my info they get a redpill and lose control.
Luke Turner
how do we use this to our advantage? can we bring a product back on the shelf with sheer meme magic?
Carson Clark
>Land of the free
John Roberts
Fucking ip range ban for leafs when?
Ryan Price
>watching porn with other men fucking women not only are you gay, but you're a gay cuck
Adam Green
if this passes I will probably just log off the internet for good
Ian Rivera
>No shit, and a lot less of a threat The other thing is the FBI can't bulk collect like the NSA, but they can buy American's data from private companies.
So this just lets the FBI buy all your private browsing data from your ISP, since they can't legally collect it themselves.
Elijah Price
Because nothing stops a company like google to buy your browsing history and try those "altright deradicalization program". Or maybe a leftist group that will try to identify "racist islamophobic trump supporters" and then send that info to your boss or spread leaflets in your university.
Jose Perry
nigger this shit literally just happened today, there was just a thread that hit bump limit about this
Owen Moore
Can I still torrent movies?
Luis Hill
Somebody type up five sample letters for anons to send to the WH Put in on pastebin
Nathan Lewis
Jesus Christ America, not even the European Union is THIS cucked.
Isaiah Miller
Fuck this, I'm not moving out of the internet. I'd rather pollute their logs with even more midget and preggo porn, sharing my internet connection with all of you in a p2p-like internet where I don't even know who is requesting what page. Technology will make this happen, we have to keep fighting.
Jayden Jenkins
ITT: Shilling for certain ISPs.
How much do you make per post, OP?
Austin Morris
>alot less of a threat
No it's alot more of a threat since china can buy your info and extort you.
Jack Bailey
There's good ISPs out there. If these guys get more business, that's a good thing.
Luis Sanders
Ffs man, ISP here don't even link a name/customer to an IP-adress without a warrant, and the courts reject about 95% of request because privacy>profit/easy investigating.
But in the land of the free a COMPANY can just buy your history IN BULK.
What the fuck
Owen Hughes
Check Sonic's services. 20mb internet in my area for $40... I get 200MB from Time Warner For $50... sooooo that's not gonna happen.
Ayden Richardson
Back to rollodexes and actually knowing people after I disconnect from the Internet. Probably a lot more drinking involved, too. >boop beep boop boop boop beep boop >yeah, is this amazon? I need to order some stuff. That'll turn them on their heads alone.
Daniel Anderson
You guys have limits on your ISP use? Not just for the mobile internet contracts?
Also, 50$ for 200MB?! WHAT
James Lee
Why the fuck is everybody here talking about porn like it's the most important part here? This is a huge violation of privacy that could potentially be used for extortion or blackmail. Stalkers could pay to find out details about you or your loved ones. This is not okay, but porn is like the 45th most important reason why.
Christopher Murphy
Google already uses my history to shove ads in my face. That literally the same thing.
The fact Liberals are so clearly opposed to this means its wrestled some for of control out of their hands. I'll wait and see
William Diaz
>time warner comcast runs monopoly, slows down other providers and opposes torrents and free internet and fiber internet >better give them more control over our data so we can be targetted by any corporation with the cash!
Fuck this shit, Comcast and atime Warner need to feel the fire
Michael Phillips
I am my own isp. Feels good.
Nolan Davis
I might add- way to go you fucking trumptards. THIS is what deregulation looks like.
Bentley Gonzalez
Fucking dumbass libshits and their authoritarian bullshit needs to end. Didn't we wipe them out? How did they pass this?
Connor Nguyen
MB per second, not total. And yeah they do have caps on comcast at around 200Gigs and others start capping your speed after 250G. I do 1TB a month and sometimes gets slow(work from home).
Owen Edwards
BUMP
PURGE THE MEGAISP CONGLOMERATES
Lmfao you are a fucking retard. Sup Forums would easily be shut down and every public frontend to spread info stopped. Good luck changing global dynamics when we are confined to secret chatrooms run on indie microwaves. You are a fucking ideological slave cuck.
Austin Wood
I work from home, 20Meg just won't cut it. It's not a person preference to have 200meg.
William Murphy
I use Google Chrome, the Jews already have my data.
Lincoln Phillips
Checked But don't be retarded, Republicans are not a functional party. The average Republican voter is the definition of why good social practice always has to get wrapped up in tales and stories. They are the only group of people on Earth that could make leftists look good. The conservatives of any western nation exist to contain and direct those people who are not on board with divisive and destructive social policy by getting them to support the financial base of the elite. That is what these parties exist to do. One makes it impossible for the people of any country to have the capacity and wherewithall to gang up and purge the elite, and the other supports the elite's goons who further their machinations. In the process the supporters of these parties composed of elite henchmen pretend to fight each other, and the system in turn pretends it's being vanquished. That is the purpose of the charade. The right makes the elite rich and the left makes the citizens disrupted, stupid and useless.
Ian Hernandez
time warner buys all cable lines, and owns the substreet pathways runs all ad networks, in bed with ISPs and Soros
"But their internet is better"
No fucking shit! That is what I just explained! Limiting competition by enabling monopolies to work with globalists is the opposite of why I voted for Trump.
Landon Fisher
hi shareblue /demoralize/
Cooper Murphy
but the cia/fbi/nsa already knows all the shit i post. and i have adblocker so i'm not going to see any of the shit geared towards me.
regardless i don't want this to happen and i have an idea on how to fight this. once the bill passes we pool our money and buy some politicians browsing history. then put that shit on blast posting it on their facebook/twitter/e-mailing and mailing it to them.
this could also work on the pedo politicians
Camden Roberts
So you are telling me that this current bill would give the shadow govt the ability to shut down Sup Forums, as well as any other dissenting websites to the global narrative.
And the liberals are staunchly opposing it? I don't buy it. If that was even remotely the case, Bannon would probably warn Trump to veto it.
Dominic Young
Nice job trumpets, you get the man you want as President, but it comes with a cost.
Liam Wilson
bump
Jeremiah Diaz
Der ewige leaf
Nolan Morales
>tfw you can never do something that will put you in the public spotlight because someone will bring up your internet history against you
Connor Myers
Good job, Trumpfags!
Owen Sullivan
I like mature fat women. Oh and black girls. Come get me
Jose Gomez
You think Google and Facebook haven't been selling your data for years are you fucking retarded?
Brandon Ramirez
Nice.
Aaron Scott
>implying they haven't been doing this under the table for decades >implying the NSA and CIA haven't already been doing this for decades
David Flores
>we pool our money and buy some politicians browsing history
>still live with parents >look at retarded cartoon porn >they will now get dragon dildo ads on their YouTube
God fucking damn it. AT&T would so fucking use it to the full extent, too. I can only hope they have an opt-out, the internet is in my name and I flip the bill.
Austin Johnson
Liberals WANT regulation. More regulation = more protection under the law. This is "the free market" at work. You have no one to blame but republican leaders for tricking you and other dumb asses like yourself who have shit completely backwards.
Colton Adams
You are literally a republican while bush was in office. I know. I was the same way
Connor Lopez
And? So now we allow ISPs to sell data OUTSIDE OF GOOGLE AND SOCIAL MEDIA?? What the fuck are you smoking...
Brody Scott
>> politicians browsing history
Thats why/how the deep state owns all politicians
Nolan Brooks
>Liberals WANT regulation. More regulation = more protection under the law.
More regulation = less freedom. Liberals want this shit because they want to hunt down their opponents and control us. This is classic cultural Marxism and the war cannot come fast enough.
Gavin Gomez
This shit is why I really fucking hate cuckservatives. They cling to principles like "muh free market, no matter what!" and don't actually bother taking anything on a case-by-case basis and ask whether this particular thing would be good or bad for people. They just say "well all deregulation is always good! gotta stick to muh free market principles!" and that's that.
How does anyone at all benefit from this?
Noah Scott
So if the law goes into effect would the companies only be able to sell your history from after the moment it passes, or for the past 10years?
Andrew Ross
This is fake news. The point is to take power away from the FCC and give it to the FTC. This is to ensure FCC censorship powers are never an issue with the net.
shilly, but this explains it fairly well. They're just moving power from the FCC that Obama implemented during the net neutrality false dilemma psyop to the FTC -- which means content is not to be censored (which is the power of the FCC)
This is regarding the vote today in the senate to "allow" ISPs to sell net histories to 3rd parties. It's just repealing Obama's bullshit in order to shift power to a non censoring entity (FTC).
Robert Nguyen
>Thats why/how the deep state owns all politicians
I bet they have much more shit on them than their browsing history.
Ayden Cox
Chelsea Clinton is not a politician ;)
Jaxon Sanders
Who says I use fagbook?
But when your ISP does it, you have no where to run.
Camden Johnson
I bet the employees at SharedBlue are going to love it when we purchase their browsing history and it shows they've spent hours on Sup Forums for months. Especially now that they're allowed to use hate speech. Like this one! Wonder what social credit score the banks are going to give you after they see your anti gay words? Way to go paid shills!
Austin Lewis
>Coming to an Australia near You!
Jordan Hughes
"More regulation equals less freedoms. Therefore this Republican bill will help us by giving total control of privacy and freedom to the unhinged monopoly shadow government,"
Why is Trump on board with is crap? Time Warner will literally burn.
Jayden Martinez
My history. >trap porn >backpage escorts >spongebob memes >steve wynn jewish >chik-fil-a opening time >casual encounters craigslist >is ralph lauren jewish? >saturn mecca >mormon missionary porn am I fucked guys?
Benjamin James
Gotta stop using the internet. Only solution.
John Clark
read
Jayden Morris
This was almost unanimously passed by Republicans and opposed by Democrats. Just when I was finally leaning right, shit like this pushes me right back to being a centrist cuck.
James Thomas
seeYou're literally believing democrats and fake news.
Mason Powell
You poor stupid bastard. You don't even know who's fucking you, and have even less of an idea why. Deregulating the internet isn't good for "le spooky big brother boogeyman" it's good for corporations and bad for you. Isps are going to be making billions and this is going to open up a market for personal data which you're not going to see a dime of.
Owen King
Trump will stop this. This is the goddamned liberals again trying to destroy us. They hate privacy and freedom and love regulations. They are traitors selling out the American people for their Kike overlords.
Cameron Watson
Political parties aren't sports teams you should consistently support. You have to be results oriented, which getting a push at the current moment will bring about the best result
Jayden Cruz
>Kike overlords Who do you think is on Trumps cabinet?
Leo Perry
Same here user, you're not alone in your supposed folly.
Oliver Nelson
go one step further son, both sides are controlled, you think leftists(in government) are doing you any favours?
