Not even that. He lost the popular vote because Clinton and the Democrats "took advantage" of Trump's candidacy to register a ton of mexican voters, a large number of whom were in California. They then spent tens of millions of dollars trying to flip states like Texas and Georgia and even fucking Nebraska while neglecting to defend Wisconsin and Michigan.
And despite them spending tons in Florida and Pennsylvania and North Carolina they still lost there and would have lost the election either way.
Trump proved he's going to kick ass. Why? Because he didn't give a fuck about "finishing in style" and winning the popular vote- he didn't entertain delusions of flipping California and New York. If he had he'd probably have gotten a few million more votes from those states.
Instead he focused on winning based on the rules. Hillary assumed she had already won and spent way too much time and money trying to flip Texas.
Then she lost. Hillary was not fit to be president, she failed the electoral darwin test.
