>waahhh I can't afford a house >waahhh houses cost 500k >waahhh the jews made houses too expensive waahhhh
You know what MEN did 3+ generations ago? They built their own fucking house. Quit being a whiny faggot and build your own god damn house, maybe then they would stop being so expensive.
land to put house on is majority of the cost. also three generations ago you didn't have to do all the permits and inspections.
Xavier King
Then build the house to spec, what's the problem. You queer or something?
Josiah Rogers
but if i build my own house in the woods i won't have a good enough internet connection to stream my 1080p interracial cuckold porn
Anthony Jones
Need money to buy land first.
Luis Butler
jews run the building permit business
Isaac White
So pay for inflated land and inflated specs. Totally not a difference in hardship.
Benjamin Morgan
>Then build the house to spec Thats not the problem, paying for some shmuck to shlep around your house for hours and hours costs money
Gabriel Foster
It's ilegal here.
Jackson Howard
My parents build their house. It took forever and cost them 6 years of free time on top if the labor. You're alot better off just paying someone to do it and spending that time learning how to make more money. The only way it makes sense to build your own house is if you value your time at a very low rate.
Jonathan Baker
what if land is expensive because people generations ago bought all the land, and even without a house, it would cost as much or more than buying a house+property?
i can't build my house on a park bench
Daniel Perez
>it's illegal to build your own house
Zachary Ortiz
Construction loans ftw I don't understand the agenda of this housing scarcity meme FL is overpopulated and anyone can still get undeveloped property for cheap financed by the owner in most cases Pretty sure people just deduct the cost of water and power hookup from taxes You get a construction loan for the house Or finance a prefab My Grandmothers property has a steel building on it, I ran sewer line from it by myself and thats supposed to be the hardest part Pic related but it's about thrice the size and divided
Robert Brown
>lay foundation >need permit >raise walls >need permit >add roof >need permit >pave driveway >need permit >build shed >need 3 permits >connect plumbing >need city contractor >also need permit >connect electronic >need electric company, permit, and inspector >want a pool >need permit, inspector and fence Shit today is so burdened by the jews. Fuck you even need a permit of you wanted to build a shelter of mud and sticks on your property.
Anthony Cook
You know what "MEN" did that long ago? Lived in the now instead of the future. By their selfish practices they fucked every avenue of opportunity for the future generations. So while it can be done, you're looking at double if not triple the required man hours and income for the same luxury. So fuck off.
Angel Ramirez
It is. My uncle did it and the government wanted to demolish it. It's not the gypsy garbage it's properly made, with utilites, bear in mind theres gypsies that build a shit house then complain the got no light, water or sewage.
Luckily government is so slow that they never got to it and actually forgot it, this was 6 years ago already.
Jaxson Anderson

Blake Long
>what are code inspectors?

My great-grandpa is going to die soon, old age is catching up to him no matter how many times he seems to bounce back. He built his own damn house and is still trying to build it too this day, it is my hope and dream to continue his legacy with that house, making it bigger and better and restoring some of the relics of years past he's got on the walls.
I won't build my own house, I'll expand on the house of my forefathers.
Christopher Bell
Buy some land Satan, it's not hard. There's plenty of cheap land out there. You just have the attitude of a nay-sayer rather than a can-doer. Can't afford land because your rent is too much? Get a room for rent. Save your shekels.
Angel Kelly
It's illegal to build your own house, retard.
Luke Sanders
>Luckily government is so slow that they never got to it and actually forgot it, this was 6 years ago already. Wasn't it in Spain that a man was employed by the govt. full time, stopped showing up to work and kept getting paid for 15 years straight?
David Morgan
>building your own house when you have to work 50+ hours a week just to pay current rent and feed yourself
Samuel Davis
Many such cases. Seriously.
Nathan Hall
Jesus, Spain is a shithole, huh?
Jack Harris
Prove it
Nathan Ross
nice build a cuckshed for you to live in aswell
James Murphy
>Get land in the country >Build house >Put down well >Put down septic tank >Run off solar power >Off grid >No permits needed for shit because you are not tied into anything >Still costs about $30,000 including the land and everything >Loads of work too.
It's an option. Hell, most of the lumber can be from decent pallets. I wouldn't count on it lasting you longer than maybe ten years or so unless you treat the wood properly and even then it isn't going to be anything fancy at all.
It will get you by though.
I haven't had a house payment in damn near 8 years. Don't even those who still have to make them.
Brayden Reed
Yeah it's the epitome of big retarded government only second to precrysis greece
Carter Ortiz
No shit, the republicans on city councils and county commissions with their strict building codes, can't compete with their developer buddies. Sad!
Eli Cooper
Whatever happened to just inheriting estates?
Owen Jenkins

>buy wood >buy something that's free Just chop down some trees. I posted two videos of men who did exactly that. Money doesn't grow on tress but wood does.
Post pics of house user
Jacob Rogers
My father built his own house (with help of his buddies). You still need architect (I believe even though computers can calculate lot of shit, project needs a signature of licensed schmuck). Also somebody should check work progress from time to time. You'll also need an electrician/gas technician and plumber.
At the end of the day you're gonna save like 20% of money.
Kayden Barnes
Wheres the door?
Chase Cooper
>solar panels
hahahahah
Grayson Barnes
>pallets jesus christ, /diy/ please leave
Christopher Sullivan
right window is actually a door, the rail hides it but you can see the handle
Jason Powell
Those trees are owned by someone.
Isaac Reyes
They're viable if you want to live off the grid (and don't use/mind going without electricity), otherwise retarded.
He should get a diesel generator.
Eli Robinson
Looks comfy. Be careful though, the city can condemn the whole property in f they find out you did all that without a permit.
Asher Young
What strange new bait is this? >just build a house kys you evil mocking faggot
Gabriel Gomez
You have to own the land to chop the trees down from.
Chase Edwards
ppl in this thread talking about building houses from pallets
lol
Owen Diaz
>just chop down some trees
3/10
Jose Howard
You know what MEN 3+ generations didn't have to deal with? Regulations. You can't just go out, cut down trees, and build a log cabin. You would need to >find a lot of land with enough trees to build with >land must also be zoned for residential dwelling >house must be built according to zoning laws, as in size and stories >if you want electricity you have to make sure you are within a provider's area of operation >must dig your own septic system since sewer access is unlikely in this scenario and can't just dump your shit wherever you want >must be built to safety specifications so that you don't get in trouble like those tumblr people that got btfo a few months ago >must use authorized materials to put together the house I'm sure I'm missing something, the fact is there's no feasible way to do it without eventually getting btfo by the government.
Mason Thomas
Did he die yet? I seen a vid years ago he was still there.
Joshua Sanchez
that's ilegal too
Angel Gonzalez
What would you even need to own your own house in 2017? Literally just get an apartment in the city for only 600 a month and never have to pay for hydro or utilities, all shopping within 5 minute transit ride. WTF are you rednecks doing owning an expensive house that you constantly have to work to upkeep and maintain when you can just live in a clean flat where everything is taken care of for you. Dumb fucking redneck idiots.
Matthew Russell
No wonder you had to come here.
At least we can still build a house.
Jose Campbell
Ours got taken away because of $80,000 property tax we couldn't pay, I have nothing to inherit.
Owen Ortiz
There are plenty of small towns in the Great Plains and rural areas that have houses for sale for dirt cheap, sometimes less than $30,000. Bust your ass at some shit job for a couple of years and save every penny, then buy one of those and repopulate the interior of the country with good white stock so we can quit importing fucking somalis.
Nathaniel Smith
>land to put house on is majority of the cost
average cost for an acre of land in canada is probably like 1,000$
Zachary Torres
>apartment in the city for 600/month >not a shithole
Chase Hall
It's like 900-1200 here.
Aaron Barnes
>I can't chop down a tree >I can't do what literally every single generation of men that existed for the past 10,000+ years did that came before me
>solar panels >in the US Where are you planning to live, Death Valley?
Ethan Peterson
Yeah, the trees are owned by me because I bought the land. What part of that is so difficult to understand? Instead of spending money on a shiny new cuckmobile, or a new iphone, or your own personal apartment, save your money for land.
Eli Hill
I have an amazing one bedroom condo in one of the biggest cities in North America and I don't have to worry about a goddamn thing other than playing video games on my 80 inch TV and not paying outrageous electricity bills, redneck faggot loser.

He obviously learned how to build a house on Pintrest

Ours got taken away under the MERP laws, Medicaid Estate Recovery Program. My grandma had to go into a nursing home and they took everything she had and auctioned her house off for $30000 because we couldn't pay the $6000 a month in nursing home bills. They don't give you a choice. You either take care of your relatives, you pay for the care out of pocket, or they take everything they worked their whole lives for and sell it. I still have dreams that I'm packing up all her stuff. Fucking jews.
Nicholas Price
Well that sucks, no wonder things are like they are and kids can't get out of their parents house.
We learn very quickly to build houses cause earthquakes tend to destroy them and hands are needed to rebuild towns, then we go and build our own like humanity should.
But hey, at least you live in Europe, am I right?
Nathan Sullivan
>You know what MEN did 3+ generations ago? They built their own fucking house.

So you suggest people destroy their only means of obtaining income and live as homeless transients in order to save money for land on which they will build their own house.
Henry Baker
>Being proud of a incomplete Barbie dream house riddled with flaws that eats all of your income and eventually leaves you in a fucking retirement home or worse because you end up having to sell the fucking thing after 25 years of futile remodels only to be left with less value and even more of a shit hole. Kys redneck.
Michael Cook
I need a car to get to work to make money and have to pay off a loan for it because I didn't have money to just straight up buy one.
Also need a car to travel to and from said "land" I am supposed to be buying.
Also need a place to sleep, as running a car engine in the winter just to keep warm isn't a viable solution, plus would end up killing you.
Thomas Nelson
It's not illegal at all, do your research you dumb faggot instead of just regurgitating what other anons say. You're just a lazy millennial who doesn't want to do any hard work. You WANT an excuse to be a loser failure.
Post proof that it's illegal to build your own house, you can't. There are specs that the house has to have ceilings of a certain height, big deal - then fucking build it to a certain height. 99% of the regulations wouldn't even concern you if you were building a log cabin.
Aiden Lopez
I live in the sticks and 600 a month MIGHT get you a run down studio
Connor Anderson
>I live in the sticks and 600 a month MIGHT get you a run down studio
Maybe you should get a real job instead of some faggot ass redneck shit like contractor or coal miner.
Gabriel Bailey
>paying rent for your whole life >LITERALLY throwing money away for the privilege of living in someone elses' home Four reasons to own a home >freedom to do what you want and make improvements without having to get someone else's approval >no restrictions on things you can own or do (pets, guns, smoking, as examples) >security of a place to live, and not getting screwed over by a landlord wanting to raise the rent >having an investment and something to pass on to children Renting is fucking retarded unless you have literally no other option
Jose Gutierrez
time to abandon thread, this is getting silly
Connor Butler
Or not live in a house at all and just live in a car, or just live off the land
Kayden Campbell
>projecting this much
The first house I bought had 30k in equity on it before I even stepped foot in the door. I sold it later for a 50k profit after some minor repairs and upgrades. You just have to know what you're doing.
Hell, even if you bought a house at market value, as long as your mortgage payment isn't more than 20% if your income, you're going to come out ahead. The retards who get burned I really estate are the ones who buy too much house.
Robert Smith
That's all there is in redneck land, dude.
Ryder Myers
You even need a permit to replace your water heater. You can't do shit in this country.
Ian Torres
168 hours in a week
Sebastian Ortiz
Move closer to work then, that's what I did. I found an apartment within walking distance of my job.
No I suggest you keep living in your shoebox apartment and pissing away your money.
Get a room for rent, it's half the price of a regular apartment.
So you can't post proof that it's illegal then?
Nicholas Hall
600 a month won't get you a studio apartment in Toronto or Montreal. You're either lying or you're leaving out the part where you have to wear a bulletproof vest everytime you get the newspaper.
David Cook
I bought a house last year, one of the best decisions I've made. Don't listen to the leaf if you're thinking about it. My advice is to take your time looking if you have the option though, I was house shopping like 6 months and I'm glad I waited.
Isaiah Foster
>landlord is legally and financially responsible for upkeep/improvements >chose a decent place to start with >have no restrictions on anything anyway >landlord can't legally raise rent >there are far more profitable investments than owning home what world are you fuckers living in

If you're really poor, you can. The wood is very strong and pressure treated.
Only problem is that most are treated with toxic as fuck chemicals.
Jaxson Jackson
>not waiting for the current bubble to burst before buying a house
Its like you want to lose money. Especially if you're a leaf the chinks are gonna burst that shit in a few years
Jack Hernandez
It's called an appreciating asset. Bought my house 3 years ago 20 minutes south of Montreal for $160K canbux and it was appraised at 200K for 2017.
It even has a 1 car garage, love going to work in my toasty car at -20.
Aiden Wood
>housecucks
Josiah Morales
Well I'm sure the landlord isn't coming out ahead right? Clearly he is renting to you because it is such a horrible investment for him. You should enlighten him as to how dumb he is to own property instead of rent from someone like you're doing.
Jayden Allen
the one where the situation you described is a one in a million thing and even then you are wasting money by doing it when you can put in the big one-time investment to build a decent house and have something nice to pass on to the next generation
Chase Morales
>landlord can't raise rent
You're a jackass. Feel free to post a 600/month apartment in the middle of a major city. Don't edit out the cockroaches either.
Cooper Harris
it's still going to cost quite a bit. you need inspectors, county architect approval, many codes to adhere to, public utility hookups, the land, materials, rental of heavy machinery to dig and pour the foundation and process materials. electrical, heating, water, these add up fast.
all that said, a quality man is fully capable of building a house, and it'd be satisfying. i plan on doing it. i don't want mexicans doing sloppy work and cheap materials and construction.
i hope that someday i can afford to design and build my own house out of large stone and walnut or teak. a steel kitchen with service grade sinks.
Hudson Brooks
>>Get land in the country >>Build house >>Put down well >>Put down septic tank >>Run off solar power >>Off grid >>No permits needed for shit because you are not tied into anything >>Still costs about $30,000 including the land and everything
>costs about $30,000
You poor dumb bastard.
I use solar power exclusively for electricity, and $30,000 doesn't even cover the cost of batteries and panels.
A power drop here in 2008 would cost $220-250,000--or so 'they' told me.
I said fuck that, and built my own power system. It cost around $60,000, for parts. I didn't calculate my time.
I still set aside $250 a month, every month, because I know that 'free' power really isn't free.
Nolan Miller

>landlord is legally and financially responsible for upkeep/improvements Yeah for you and the 20+ other residents I the house. If he can't fix your plumbing because he's got other stuff to fix then you're stuck without a toilet until he gets around to it >chose a decent place to start with And pay out the nose so you don't have to live around niggers >have no restrictions on anything anyway Except for the things I listed, many apartments will not allow you to own a pet, gun, or allow you to smoke >landlord can't legally raise rent He can find some bullshit reason that's just legal enough to get you evicted on a technicality then charge the next guy $300 extra because property prices went up in the area >there are far more profitable investments than owning home Like? A house is the investment in which you have the most control over.
Not to mention renting is a completely sunk cost, you do not recoup any of your money in an investment. You just invest in someone else's property, and at the end of the month, you are out the $600 you claim while your landlord has $600 in his investment. He's going to have plenty to retire on, all thanks to schmucks like you paying for the privilege to live there.
