Oman, Iran and Qatar have some of the largest Natural Gas Reserves on the Planet. Enough to supply Europe with LNG for the next 100 years. Gas is what we will switch to when Middle East Oil runs out in 2050

Muscat is Portuguese rightful clay.

There is a relatively large community of ex-pats there, not as many as Dubai of course. Know someone there that works as a real estate agent, who happens to be white, speaks english as a first language, and is no where near being muslim.

I was there January last year as well as December/January this year. First time Muscat, second time Manah and Nizwa. Both for university.

It's actually pretty shit senpaitachi. The country is ruled by a homosexual sultan (divorced his wife when he became a sultan some decades ago and hasn't remarried since) who is also pacifist fuccboi too scared to take a side (currently juggling alliances between Saudii and Iran).

Apart from the nice resorts (which aren't exclusive to any country), the only thing nice about it are the amazing looking oasis' and a place called Salalah that turns into a lush forest during summer.

Besides that, it's trash. There's so many immigrants who live in shitty conditions (and the Omani's treat like hot trash) and the Omani's themselves are lazy and incompetent. Their culture is nothing to write home about and when I see the historic Portuguese forts all I can think of is the lost opportunity.

Oman is the safest and nicest country in the peninsula. They have their own unique sect of Islam that's quite different from the Sunnis that make up the majority of Islam.

For example gays aren't thrown off buildings, they are just imprisoned for a few years.
Apostasy isn't a crime, although you will be shunned by the community and you can freely practice other religions that don't cause a public nuisance. There are permanent churches and temples of other faiths there too.
Women in Oman aren't treated as second class citizens by law, although they are culturally. If a women gets raped she isn't punished for it and instead the rapist gets punished.
