North did request and receive some limited immunity. None of his congressional testimony was permitted for use against him in his own trial. That's why his convictions didn't stick.
This means that without North's testimony the case against him couldn't succeed.
In the other hand, if the Feds already have enough evidence to convict Flynn, of course Flynn wants to testify for total immunity.
