>I am a right winger through and through. The only problem I have with right wing parties is their apparent no fucks given attitude towards global warming and environmental issues. For the sake of argument lets say we are "at the end of an ice age", why not still make a better world for ourselves anyway? Use renewable energy sources and other technology to keep our planet clean and beautiful?
>Thoughts?
There are only TWO things that republicans/conservatives want:
1. Rich people to have more money and power and influence
2. You to believe otherwise
To the extent that any issue conflicts with this, they will lie and manipulate you to believe otherwise. These people couldn't give less of a shit about the planet - the wealthy have already carved out pristine areas for themselves to live/breathe/etc in, and they will survive all the negative global effects because the have the power to do so already.
This particular issue is probably harder for you to swallow because the science is so clear. There's a similar con game going on with most* other republican policy ideas, but propaganda is easier to fudge when it's not hard science on the other side, so you've fallen for all that shit like good goyim**.
My general rule of thumb for understanding conservative propaganda is: if they're claiming the other side is doing it, they're almost certainly doing it themselves. (see e.g., "death panels" with obamacare, versus the reality of proposed ryancare)
Again, where you see this come up against hard science, it's the easiest to tell it's bullshit. But it's all bullshit. Liberals and the conservative base actually have a lot in common when you actually look at the *policies*, but since you've been told otherwise, you'll never believe it.
>*by accident, sometimes "give more money to the rich" lines up with something useful. But that's extremely rare.
>**not really jew tricks here, the concept of which is a piece of propaganda to keep you angry at the wrong target
