However, a way an employer may decide to increase wages is by competition. Another workplace comes along and decides to pay its employees more for less work, which will drive workers from the lesser paying businesses. They'll have to increase their wages in response, otherwise they'll have no workers
However, in a communist state, all workers earn the same, strangeling incentive to improve.
