The funny thing is it doesn't really matter if it's real or not, pollution kills millions yearly regardless.

it is. By the carbon and emmisions and methane emissions were producing, it is by far the largest in human human, having an adverse effect on the environment as we know it

>it is by far the largest in human human
we are so fucked guys

explain to me how its hotter over the north pole than in Africa

its not all bad, humans have a tendency to fix shit right before its too late, by innovating with new shit to hold off the apocalypse. China for example didnt give 2 shits about the environment until it became a huge problem. Since they don't have a choice anymore, there forced to start fixing the environment

That map is average temperature changes, not the actual temperatures.

because the north pole reflects more of the solar radiation due to the white surface of the ice/snow. this creates a feedback loop, raising the temperature of that area faster than others, causing more radiation to get trapped.

It may or may not be amplified due to human activity, no way to prove it. Also nothing we can do about it either way anyway.

It is a real problem and it is almost certainly being exacerbated by us. In all honesty, it's hard to see how people can dispute this.

Red pill on climate change? okay

What the left and environmentals have done is managed to trick the world through propaganda about what is actually happening. The idea in everyone's head is that greenhouse gasses are slowly building up year after year after year and at a certain point it is going to hit an event horizon scenario where we will all be fucked.

What they don't tell you is that the earth manages to removed a shitload of the CO2 each year. It doesn't build up. We produce so much that the earth is currently in heightened levels of CO2 yes but it's not a build up.

Okay to try to look at it another way they make it seem like the number is increasing constantly. To use easy numbers just assume that in 2000 we had something like a million tons of CO2 in the atmosphere and then it went up by a million each year until we hit 10 million in 2010.

In reality it went more like 1.01, 1.03, 1.04,.... and now we are at something like 1.2 million. It builds up mostly in winter as we increase fuel consumption to keep ourselves warm and the majority of the plants hibernate. Our earth actually does an amazing job of clearing out the air.

The environmentalists are basically useless idiots for the globalists to pass laws and control sovereign states and they are trying to move quickly and are faking data because the world is waking up to their bullshit.

>youtube.com/watch?v=x1SgmFa0r04
>youtube.com/watch?v=x1SgmFa0r04
>youtube.com/watch?v=x1SgmFa0r04

its an entrance to the hollow earth

>The environmentalists are basically useless idiots for the globalists to pass laws and control sovereign states and they are trying to move quickly and are faking data because the world is waking up to their bullshit.

What are you talking about?

So basically the "fear" is that we will have too much leftover CO2 from the year before and it will start to build up. The fear is that a build up will START yet they have everyone, literally almost everyone, convinced that it has already started to build up the last few decades.

This red pill is up there with the jewish globalist conspiracy

i don't see how people cannot understand, how industry, across the entire globe, spewing billions of tons of carbon into the air each year, could not have an effect.

just imagine we had some natural formations doing that, like geysers, or giant holes in the ground spewing out all that carbon. of course people would want to plug them up, and see they're a problem. at least i'd hope.

too late now, we fucked, should still work on clean energy though

Paris Climate Agreement was basically the countries signing over sections of their sovereignty. So we would be fined and penalized if we didn't follow the agreement and polluted too much, and the laws wouldn't be changed by our representatives but instead by the central authority on climate change. Think a global EU and also a way to push for a global government.

The truth, you misinformed, PR brainwashed zombie.

The number IS increasing constantly user, with our increasingly manufacturing world, we are going up in co2 levels. After all, Bejing had so much of a buildup that it chocked the city in smoke, forcing the government to figure out a way to cut down on co2 emissions

Because it's choking their local area.

user, it's never too late. I think the solution is more likely in the hands of company's like Tesla, rather than government. People saving money on gas will be incentivized to drop there gas guzzlers for cleaner and cheaper options

yes user, there co2 emissions don't have a chance to escape, so imagne that was the case with every city, surely you wouldnt believe that it dosen't effect the enivronment?

haha that is funny user

No problem for our generation and probably some nuisance for the next but then the world goes into total cardiac arrest, our grandchildren will not live well at all.

We have have not left the world untouched as earlier generations did. Greed and egoism killed it, our grandchildren will curse us for destroying our world and then die before suffering the consequences.

I just hope our generation will take the full responsibility of what we are leaving to our children.

I think if we do not act now we have doomed our children to hell and a short life of no joy.

A bunch of american scientists are obviously profiting from research that shows that we need to slow down the economy to fix these issues. Lol sure.

What percentage of the increase in temperature is caused by humans?

Yeah, but it's caused by HARRP. Do research on it.
They trying to melt the ice wall on our flat earth to get pass it.
It also why they talk about the north pole and "south pole" melting all the time.
Sure we'll flood but elite don't care they want to pass the frozen wasteland.

My best guess, probably 15%.

>our grandchildren will not live well at all
by that time our generation will not live much longer anyway.

and if it kills life on earth, nobody would be left to curse this fate ...

t. not a climate scientist

Fake news.

It's real, but not man-made. That's a leftist hoax.

Which means that what temperature increases we would see in 100 years without humans, we will see in 85 years with humans. Not enough to matter. Who cares.

That's considering you are correct in the first place, what's the source of that number.

Humans release about 6,870 million carbon emissons a year. although I can't put a specific number on human temperature changes, I can say that it must be quite a lot

>Niggers die
>I get a warmer climate
Seems okay.

Only redditfags believe it's caused by humans and will end in some kind of apocalypse.

>just

>stop

>writing

>like

>this
And maybe people won't call you out for being a redditfag in the future.

stfu bean brain.

Overpopulation is the root cause of all environmental issues, everything else is a symptom.

/thread

This leaf is actually correct. There's more than one reason to want to reduce pollution and use cleaner energy sources.

It doesn't really matter all that much in the long run since we're in an ice age right now and it's normal on a geological time scale for there to be absolutely no ice caps or glaciers anywhere. There's going to be a mass extinction event due to changing temperatures eventually regardless. Obsession with man made climate change is arrogant anthropocentrism.

If you are shilling for the Saudis or OPEC it isn't. A few of you need to think about that for a minute.

>I can say that it must be quite a lot
Is this supposed to convince anyone?

Literally the only thing that matters in the entire discussion is whether human activity is affecting the climate enough to matter, and this is where everyone breaks down.

At least the plants are growing :^)

>it is by far the largest in human human

You mean that giant inferno of a star in the sky has nothing to do with it? Holy fucking shit... you're probably wrong.

youtube.com/watch?v=sTvqIijqvTg

This should be a good answer

THIS.

why does it even matter if it is real or not, what are you all going to do if its real or not?

>scientists have confirmed that global warming is not real, so yeah, we can keep fucking earth up since it doesnt really matter anyway

Overpopulation is the issue. Black people, who really have no good reason to be alive, breed like rabbits.

It's not mostly caused by humans. But since we invented fire we have added to the natural amount in ever increasing increments to a point where it IS a percentage, but we're not really sure how much.

Regardless of that, the climate does change naturally, but do we really want an iceage? I want as much research to be done so we can figure out how to manipulate it correctly. I am all for Human Made Climate Change, Ice Age Avoidance Mode.

The earth both produces and removes huge amounts of CO2 but the point is that it was always an equilibrium. The effect of human society is producing slightly more CO2 (and yes it is slight) than the Earth can absorb, hence we are pushing it further and further away from equilibrium and towards instability.

>inb4 the earth's average temperature fluctuates all the time
Yes, this is due to both the slight wobble about the earth's axis of rotation, as well as slight eccentricities with the Earth's orbit around the sun. We have excellent mathematics and tools to determine whether we are in a natural warming period, and to predict how much the temperature should rise. Right now we are off the scale of what the average temperature rise should be.

So in conclusion, do some real research you dumb burger.

What's wrong with making companies not spew tons of smoke into the air anymore?

Then the polar caps melting will drown them as a large percentage live on the coasts. Population problem solved.

It doesn't matter. The only "solutions" are socialistic money grabs which would wreck our economies via carbon tax in order to reduce global warming by 0.02 C. THEY EVEN ADMIT THIS AND YET THEY GO AHEAD WITH CARBON TAX. it's a money grab in order to take away more of our freedom

The source is me. That's why I said, "my best guess".

t. Non climate scientist.

The era before the little ice age was called the Mideval Warm Period. They were growing wine grapes in England. It was prosperous.

Many things affect climate that are not manmade.

omg we're doomed

Nothing, but if its a tax on productivity its economically damaging. Science can scrub smoke stacks, but knocking down the stacks without a solution to the pollution doesn't ultimately fund science to develop clean tech does it...

0.02 C by 2100. And that's not a decrease from current temp. It's a decrease in projected temp. So either the globalist environmentalists are right in which case the niggers are fucked regardless (and who cares?) Or they're lying and using it to bring about their one world govt shill scheme

Climate Change, Global Warming and Cooling, Ice Ages are all fancy words that use descriptors to define the fear that mankind has against the proliferation of life.

youtube.com/watch?v=4rLRObEhC4I

Climate Change politics is nothing more than eco-marxism. Theres a legitimate concern for clean air and water, but if solutions aren't proposed to maintain productivity then fuck off.

If we get the planet warm enough, then the dinosaurs will come back to life. Kek approves of this message.

the climate changes since earth exist.
why is everybody freaking out about it? it's a natural process.

Not only that, but the carbon tax "credits" have all been sold for the first 20 years of the program right? So they avoid all those years of inflation, they get to produce all they want, and anyone who want to do anything in that market has to buy them from them to stay competitive or pay the 200% increased price from the government. Don't worry though, you can get it from them for only 150% of a price increase ;^)

the main thing of this shit is that they installing the global\ball thing in your brain

Earth is flat.

Greenhouse gasses such as carbon dioxide do not kill millions however. CO2 in the atmosphere does trap warm air, and more CO2 means more plant food. Plants love warm air, sunlight, and some CO2.

What is killing people is acid rain and caustic water supplies caused by dumping chemicals that do not easily break down when diluted in public water systems or reservoirs that contribute to natural precipitation. Lead poisoning is still the leading chemical killer in regular household products such as bowls, cups, and utensils - whereas Monsanto related sprays and fertilizers are a major factor within increasing cancer rates along with many other factors, such as the other twenty or so chemicals that are coughed up by cars, factories, and massive cattle farms.

I have a solution for climate change. Roll everything back to pre-1800s. Allow the weak to die off because they don't have easy access to energy. Most of them will be shitlib and niggery types. Re-institute our energy infrastructure after a short period of time minus the shitlibs and niggers. We now have a world that consumes much less energy. The climate change issue has been solved. Give me my Nobel peace prize.

>CO2 can't be proven as a greenhouse gas
This should be a big, red flag to anyone trying to accept the global warming arguments

>Scientists change the time of day when they take global temperatures
The temperature used to be taken at night. Now they take it in the morning. This gives them an excuse to say "huhr duhr, it's usually 8 degrees warmer at night, so we're going to *adjust* all the temperatures up by 8 degrees!"
If you give a fuck about the scientific method, or you do any sort of work that involves numbers and planning and forecasts, you'd see the huge BULLSHIT banner over that methodology.

>Ocean acidification caused by an increase of 0.001% CO2 n shit!
Proposed by idiots that have never owned a saltwater tank. Go to a reef tank. Blow out CO2 all over it. Watch nothing be bothered inside your reef tank. Also notice that it takes a few months to get a stable reef tank from scratch, but ((((they)))) tell you it takes some stupid 1,000 years to establish a reef or some bullshit.

Global Warming (climate change) is a problem.
What causes it in range of significance is poorly understood and studied. The attribution of it to pollution is a false narrative. This attribution coincided with a push some years ago to jump start a new economic growth engine known as 'green energy'.

So, what causes temperature variations on earth that is outside of our control?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_cycle
The sun goes through natural cycles that increase/decrease the amount of energy it outputs. We have no control over it and it impacts the earth's temps significantly.

2nd up : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth's_magnetic_field
Earth's magnetic field is constantly varying and goes through cycles we don't fully understand. When it goes through changes, the amount of energy observed from the sun varies ... heats/cools the earth.

Last of all w.r.t to significance is our ozone layer which is directly impacted by pollution. So, the least of all factor is where the attribution is placed. This attribution is mathematical and scientific nonsense. Further compounding the issue is the lack of well studied effects of pollution. Our natural ecosystem is very good at rebalancing itself. The earth has cycled between warm/cold periods several times :
cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Geological_TS_SL_and_CO2.jpg

So, why the global warming hysteria? It's a fear-based cash-cow that can spur economic growth.

The root issue w.r.t to pollution centers on inefficient and wasteful manufacturing. Of course that isn't addressed because it would cause economic headwinds. Companies produce products that fail to increase profits resulting in waste/pollution and misallocated resources. Companies produce things half way across the world and then ship them to the other side via the most polluting vessels on earth
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environmental_impact_of_shipping.

.. Continued

You could cut pollution drastically just by addressing wasteful and purposely built short-life manufacturing and wasteful shipping. No new technology.

Move the product manufacturing closer to where it is used (domestic markets) and cut down on wasteful cargo shipping and stop engineering products to fail for increased profit.

Of course, these are real solutions and real solutions impact profits. So, instead they'd rather > Not fix the root problems
> Create new wasteful manufacturing (green energy)
> Pollute the environment even more (In the Long run, solar panels and batteries are quite toxic to the environment)
> Windfarms impact local and global environmental patterns
> etc etc..

Essentially, there's no such thing as a free lunch in this universe. If someone claims there is, they're lying to you.

> Redpill on global warming : the whole thing was a sham to try to make tons of money off of fear. The sun could fart tomorrow.. Our magnetic field could do a summersault and you'd be roasted 7 ways to Sunday.

> Pollution is bad. Everyone agrees on that. You tackle that with efficiency. It's not profitable for products to last long or be efficient and reliable. Companies manufacture them to fail. So, the root problem is that the economy is being put above the environment. Real solutions exist, they're just not economically feasible. So, instead the powers that be play games w/ fake solutions and propaganda.

Really makes you stop and think about how dumb we've become as a species .. That we've literally created social structures that are killing us and protect them at all cost even w.r.t to human life.

(Red pill)

...

Have you considered that the reason for this is because this problem isn't located specifically at one country but globally, and so having one supranational authority overlooking the issue at hand makes sense. The reason nations have signed up to this is because it's accepted that the damages climate change will cause will effect us all, either directly or indirectly.

The rhetoric you're spouting, such as how it's going to impact the economy is unbelievably short-sighted as it's been shown that damages caused from climate change will start to negatively impact on world productivity within this century if we continue with the same rate of emissions - 'a business as usual' scenario. This is again, another reason why nations have joined the accord.

By choosing to join, nations are attempting to prevent longer term damages from occuring. This is because if efforts aren't made to mitigate climate change, it will fuck your children and your grandchildren by inheriting a world that is genuinely worse-off than before - both in terms of the environment and the economy. This is why it's important something is done about it and why I disagree with Trump's policies with this topic, as it's pointless to have a wife and children if you're bringing them into a world that will be worse off than before.

The data suggests climate change is very much real, ranging from CO2 emission levels to coral bleaching and ocean salinity levels. But nevertheless environmentalists are making a huge deal out of it. Geoengineering is being developed and manmade regulation of element cycles are in research so it's not the end of the world if we continue emissions as we are right now. But definitely reduction in emissions is critically needed for everything to be stabilized at the end of the century and beyond. Cutting these emissions is not too hard - for example, methane can be reduced by cutting meat consumption and therefore livestock.

I like this idea better.

Fpbp and /thread
Sums it up pretty nicely and we should first tackle that what we can change right now. Might also help giving more actual awareness about the enviornment.

Fake as NASA

We fucked up real good with leaded gasoline. The earth does go through cycles but our machines and shit are making those cycles faster

Its a very real thing and not even under debate, just how much humans cause or contribute.

>Geoengineering is being developed and manmade regulation of element cycles are in research so it's not the end of the world if we continue emissions as we are right now
Depends on the rate of production, as well as research associated with the other feedbacks caused from our attempts to mitigate the damages caused. Whilst good ideas are constantly being thought of, actually going through the process of putting them into practice is notoriously challenging and very few are successful. This is the same for our adaptions made to current infrastructure and power systems to make them more productive or efficient.

>Cutting these emissions is not too hard - for example, methane can be reduced by cutting meat consumption and therefore livestock.
Problem with that being, as economies develop, they consume more meat and their national diet changes. It's being seen in China now, with the increased demand for beef (which is the worst for the environment) as well as the uncertainty about what will happen as India also catches up despite Hinduism. On the whole, vegan and vegetarianism is on the rise but it's not at the rate to offset other global trends associated with economic development.

>so it's not the end of the world if we continue emissions as we are right now
That is one of the core planks of the AGW religion. Without this, the carbon tithe is more voluntary and not the required mandatory. How are we ever going to crucify climate heretics and launch the carbon Inquisition with this sort of blasphemy being bandied about?

Sarcasm aside, it's nothing more than control of fossil fuels on a global scale by the powers that be as really scary depletion scenarios unfold through the 21st century ending modern life as we know it. You can't build a religion out of that though.

Is climate change real?
Yes.
Is it a serious problem?
Yes. Even a single 1 degree in the temperature can start a domino effect with serious consequences.
Are the popular solutions good?
Nope. Won't really do much.
