Your goal is to find someone similar to you. Since you're obviously shy and don't know how to talk to women, find someone that's shy and doesn't know how to talk to guys.
The most important thing is to not think about your destination (a GF/wife), but focus on the journey. Get to know them, find out what they like and what similarities you have. Hobbies, places to eat, movies, etc.
Once you can talk to a girl the same way you'd talk to a guy, then you can start to go places together. Take her to a movie or restaurant. If things go well, offer to do it again.
