More credible than CNN is a low standard to set. He may be 'open' about his biases and agenda, but that assumes he's telling the truth about that in the first place.
He sprinkles in grains of truth, but never trust any claims of his intent. Even without Cooper my bullshit meter was going off the charts while watching his clickbait YT videos where he spends half the video shilling products and the rest spouting baseless claims interspersed with scraps or hints of what he was actually supposed to be talking about.

There's a lot of people who profess to spread knowledge and fight for the truth out of the goodness of their own heart, but there are few who constantly shill IN THE MIDDLE OF A PROGRAM.
I won't say Alex shouldn't earn some money for his hard work but one, he's likely built up a pretty nice nest egg from his radio shows and documentaries back in the 90s and 2000s, and two you don't exactly need tens of thousands of dollars to talk about what he talks about.
