In the census last week 17% of the population are non Irish and that doesn't include non ethnic Irish born here so the real percentage of non Irish could be 20-25% non ethnic Irish.

I've been to Ireland a bunch on business and my experience, and least around Limerick and Munster, is that nobody there gives a shit. It may happen by demographic default at some point in the future, but it's been 300+ years of division as the status quo. There doesn't seem much interest outside of some hotspots in NI from what I've gathered when talking to folks over there.
