Trump considers chemical weapons to be a line, and when that line was crossed, he slapped them on the wrist. He didn't invade the country, and the purpose was to destroy aircraft, not people. He's not Obama, when the line is crossed, he puts his foot down and retaliates. I was a bit worried there for a while, but now I'm confident that this was nothing more than a small fuck up.
The chemical weapon attacks were obviously fake, and he was wrong for retaliation against something that didn't happen, but this wasn't him trying to start a war, nor is it part of some bigger plan to invade Syria, it's just a specific strike on a specific target for a specific reason.
