If you think cars/trucks/utes etc can be banned from a city for any length of time, you have no idea how logistics or industry work. Also what stops them from targeting gatherings of people out of the city? Its absolutely ludicrous. In fact its so stupid it makes me question whether this initiative isn't just clever mindfuckery from conservative types. No one can be this stupid and still alive. They would have drowned in the washing up water long before now surely?

Not that I'm on the swedes side, but outside of the logistics (transport trucks, ect) are cars really neccesary in the center of most major cities? I mean, most have metro systems that can get you around so much faster, anyway...

The amount of things required by a modern city to function is dependent on all types of vehicles, including cars. I can't think of a modern city with roads anywhere who's public transport system would hold up in the face of an outright car ban. Trains/trams/buses are completely overwhelmed (assuming our terrorist friends aren't able to get hold of a bus at a set of lights). People cannot get to work. Builders have to carry 300kg of tools in a backpack across the city to do basic household repairs. Pensioners/elderly unable to use taxi services to get food and medication. Transport is the lifeblood of any nation, be it industry/armed forces/emergency services/utilities/basic food/water/shelter. Its absolute madness. Australian truckies have a motto "without trucks Australia stops" and its the absolute truth.

We like to think we can ban our threats out of existence and defy nature. If we wear cement to prevent injuries from shark attacks we kill ourselves anyway we should except that children, women and men die and we could be one of them. We need to have some defense however High external walls and concrete bunkers are just self-imprisonment.
Basically: people need to understand that people die get over it and in our attempts to run away from our nature.
Change the word 'cars' to 'muslims' and then it's not insane.
