If anyone has even the slightest understanding of history, they'd realize that Churchill was a hated figure in British politics and that he wasn't even prime minister in 1939. He was a nobody and was ostracized for Gallipoli.
I've had people tell me that Hitler saved Germany after WWI when there is nothing that could be further from the truth. He illegal canceled the treaty of Versailles and annex land from the Ruhr, Austria and Sudetenland which were industrial regions already.
It doesn't take a masterful economic genius to realize that taking land = increase in economic output.
It also doesn't take a genius to realize that military expenditure will also put people to work. If Hitler saved Germany through illegal means than bank robbing is a career.
