Has Sup Forums ever loved a woman with mental health issues? If they receive treatment, do you think they can be a good partner or mother? What if they are otherwise functioning - intelligent, funny, professionally successful - with medication? Is it wrong to potentially pass on psychological defects to your children?
I dated a women with clinical depression for over a year. Only advice I really can give is that there needs to be real boundaries in the relationship for anything to work. When this girl would go into an episode, which could start from literally any stimuli, she would become extremely unreasonable to the point where I needed to leave the scene in order to cool down and continue hanging out. She became belligerent too many times and I ultimately ended the relationship. I had become her therapeutic crutch and when we tried to become "friends" a month after the breakup she very clearly had an agenda to restart the relationship. I had to eventually move out of State to separate myself and gain independence back, but I still deal with near harassment on the phone. Loved the girl, too.
My answer to the OP is to think carefully about the type of bond you start with this woman. A familial type bond early in the relationship could be devastating because you're making her problems your problems. A friendship type bond is the only that can possibly work with depression.
Nolan King
All women are insane. They think the world owes them a living because they have a vagina. Once a man can pick out an egg, women will be obsolete.
Jack Price
Damn, I had completely opposite experience. Had a thing for a girl who I think was pretty depressed, she would just sort of cut off herself from people and isolate herself. Eventually lost contact and heard through a friend that she hung herself like last year. Mental illness blows and women are insane
Camden Barnes
Honestly came here to vent, didn't expect actual help.
This was incredibly insightful ... the most genuine advice I've ever been given on the Internet let alone Sup Forums. Thank you so much user. Would buy you a beer if I could.
Andrew Price
This took me over a year to find out I needed out, and that advice came from some of the most difficult shit. If you're in Ketchikan, Alaska I'll take you up on that, shit's mad expensive here.
If you're in a funk with something, I'd suggest getting off this website as further advice, but nobody listens to that.
Isaiah Hall
>I'd suggest getting off this website as further advice, but nobody listens to that. >implying you can leave this website
Oliver Perry
My wife has depression. Like any married couple its not perfect, but as soon as I understood that she doesn't need fixing, just a different type of support, things got better. You just have to know that there can be no reason at all for them to be sad. And its not their fault, or your fault, you just have to be there for them and not judge, they judge themselves all the time. Just to be clear, we have tons of amazing times and fun, but even with medication sometimes, she feels down. Its ok though. if you really love someone, the relationship is not all about you.
Jose Robinson
Mental health and depression is so dangerous Here is a clip from 3famous people talking about just that m.youtube.com/watch?v=3qy99yG8V8E
Thomas Richardson
I was with a woman for 4 years who had severe depression and anger management issues. Now when I say "severe depression" I don't mean your average bullshit that every teenager has, but legit depression; just motivating her to do anything was a nightmare for the longest time. Over the years though she improved. I got her going out more, she stopped hitting herself as much, stopped breaking things, etc. As she got better I started to ponder on popping the question to her. I had my proposal ready, was ready to buy the ring, ready to tell her how proud I was of her and all her progress, and then I discovered that she had cheated on me with another guy one evening. She claimed that at the time she was just feeling lonely and her depression had come back to haunt her that day, but I wouldn't accept any excuse for it.
I left her and just three days later I got news from her brother that she had hung herself. It's been two years now, I still love her, and I still ponder on if I should have just forgiven her for what she had done. Her family no longer talks to me and claims that I am the reason why their daughter killed herself.
So my advice? I say stay away. Women with mental health issues are just random-cannons. One day they'll be great, the next they'll be depressed, the next they'll be great again, and the next they're cheating on you.
Ayden Martinez
My buddy's wife is a complete mess. She grew up in an ultra religious house where her parents would put black sheets over the windows during Halloween as a means to protect them from evil spirits. I think her family was involved in some hypersexual church cult.
She's got some type of borderline personality/bipolar disorder. She can go from bawling her eyes out, to super high, singing so every looks at her and recognizes how happy and totally not crazy she is. One year, their family got a PlayStation for Christmas and she just couldn't handle that the machine was getting more attention than her, so she took it outside and "accidentally" backed over it. She's also wrecked a fuck load of cars by driving on the wrong side on multiple lane highways. Yes, this happened several times.
It's been super tough for him to deal with it. They have three kids and only one of which could be considered normal. The other two are disasters. Daughter is a hardcore cutter and their son hasn't bathed in god knows how long. They're both really talented but they received zero nurturing or encouragement because it took the limelight away from their mother.
Christian Parker
fuck robots would literally make women obsolete
Zachary Reed
How does one even "long term" this type of woman? First I heard of the wrong way on the highway just because I'd have been headed right on out of there. Even just the intense attention seeking also
Parker Gray
>1488
Blake Gonzalez
You had absolutely no obligation to remain in the relationship after she cheated on you. That's on her. Killing herself was also her choice.
Her family are fuckwits who clearly can't accept the idea of personal responsibility because their precious child is dead. Depression absolves no one from owning their own decisions.
Adrian Hernandez
SOON BOYS SOON >the women here are unbearable. let them be cumdumpsters to foreigners

Jesus fucking Christ
Andrew Rogers
I honestly have no idea how he does it. He's progressively more haggard every time I see him.
Once for her birthday, he got her one of those PT Cruisers.TWO WEEKS later, she smashed it into a concrete pylon, you guessed it, on the wrong side of the road.
I've talked to his sister about it and she thinks she might even be at the early stages of dementia with how completely batshit she is.
She is a knockout, though. which is why I'm sure he's stuck with it. Lots of guys do goofy shit for hot chicks.
Xavier Roberts
never put your dick in crazy
Carter Murphy
Fucked a couple different spinners over the years. I would not recommend it
Lucas Jackson
No. Would have to cut off all contact with said woman.
My mother had schizophrenia and her episodes didn't help matters when we were homeless. 14 years and shitting out 2 more kids later, nothing has changed other than me getting the fuck out and me not talking to her ever again.
Joshua Clark
also OP this passes for women that needed to be purged
Adam Rivera
>Is it wrong to potentially pass on psychological defects to your children? what do you mean? is it wrong for you to satisfy some need to have a woman burdain your kids with her mental garbage? on the other hand she will most likely poop a kid or two anyway if she doesn't kill herself
Michael Sanchez
>Has Sup Forums ever loved a woman with mental health issues? Yes. Bipolar, cuts herself. She seemed nice at first, but she used and abused me, and discarded me when she was done, lied about me to others to make herself look like a victim, which I then realized she did the same about her previous bf. Avoid at all costs.
Camden Ortiz
I loved a mentally unstable married woman once. She was my only "GF" ever. She completely ruined my life and for the last year I have went from having a good job and normie life to being a NEET wuth a record that almost never leaves the house. I have been outside less than 10 times in 2017.
I will never be with a woman again. She has made me give up on life completely
Juan Butler
Fag
Brandon Morales
Tl;dr: don't stick your dick into crazy. You might be forced to leave the state.
Robert Rogers
What did she do to you
Julian Rivera
If OP is still listening, mental health issues are something that can never go away. They can be brought under control, but there is always the threat of relapse and the fear that she could slip up again. If you love her and she loves you, and you can cope with her at her worst, I'd say go for it. But understand that she will never be cured, and it will forever haunt the both of you.
Jace Collins
At least I had sex whenever I wanted it and a person to do adventures with for an extended period of time. There's a strategy to managing depression and relationships, but it takes a lot of maturity between both parties.
Asher Scott
Yes I have, she was perfect.
Michael Barnes
Don't stick your dick in crazy, it's not worth it. She'll fuck you up somehow, even if it's just mentally.
Oliver Lopez
This this and this
Not your fault at all though man, I'm in a similar situation with an ex rn and I wouldn't be surprised if I hear about her suicide or overdosing any day now
Lucas Young
Things went South between us and she ruined my life in fear of me telling her husband who I was kinda friends with. She was my coworker and got me fired and arrested(bullshit I don't really wanna talk about on here for dox fears). I was actually really really in love with her. And it wasn't good enough for her just to break my heart, she had to ruin me along with it. All I do now is drink swill whiskey and waste my life one second at a time.
Isaiah Collins
Wow
Jason Phillips
married a bipolar. went exactly how youd expect
>emotional manipulation >daily shit test >primary emotion is dad issues >insatiable thirst for enemy cock
Jeremiah Morris
I figure it depends on what mental illness you're up against. I married someone with anxiety issues and depression, and thanks to supplements and mental disciplines we have a pretty healthy marriage.
By contrast my buddy from high school was diagnosed with bipolar a few years after graduating... She, by contrast, is a completely unloveable whore who thrives on drama and drifts to a new social circle every eighteen months or so. Tl:dr: Either way your path will be a rough one, but the specifics of the diagnosis matter big-time
Oliver White
The truth about mentally ill women is that 90% are unstable histrionic bitches, and the 10% that aren't will just quietly go off themselves
Austin Mitchell
I'm fairly certain that my ex may have had BPD.
I'm not sure I could ever trust her again. Just talking about her in person can be enough to make me feel ill.
Brandon Bennett
BPD isn't real, it's the hysteria diagnosis of the modern age
Lincoln Roberts
>If they receive treatment, do you think they can be a >partner No. >Mother Yes.
>What if they are otherwise functioning - intelligent, funny, professionally successful - with medication? The that's the worst part about them. It's always a double edged sword.
>Is it wrong to potentially pass on psychological defects to your children? Always
Gabriel Lopez
Women are naturally mentally unstable, which is why alpha males must put them in their place. Society today doesn't allow that, hence the degeneracy we see everywhere.
Logan Morgan
Dont
My mother is a workaholic, a lawyer, my father was her only man throughout her entire life, positive she never cheated, still did all the work around the house even with tons of criminal files lying about.
And she is bipolar.
This has destroyed both me and my brother mentally, her random fits of rage during my childhood where this woman I love very much would turn into a fucking bitch you wanted to strangle.
I still love my mom and always will but I cannot stress how much this will fuck your kids up. I spent my early twenties messed up from growing up like this. And my mother despite being mentally ill is an incredibly self-disciplined person, imagine she didn't have that what a fucking disaster it would have been.
Zachary Gonzalez
They all seem to have that now a days
James Hill
I sorry to hear you had a thing for Lauren as well.

And why haven't you killed her?
Jeremiah Diaz
She fits borderline personality to a T.

Oh shit does Lauren live in NJ by chance
Jayden Foster

Dont stick your future in crazy. Your dick can handle a quick visit.
Lots of fish at the aquarium shop; it's natural to stare at the cool/neurotic fish that's swimming abnormally. But you don't take it home, waste of investment. so why would you do differently with a WOMAN?
Stay away from girls with long-divorced parents.
Hudson Richardson
BPD is literally estrogen the mental illness
Julian Young
That's heavy, man

Bipolar is real, you're just retarded.

From Houston. Apparently she lives in Colorado now. So probably not the same Lauren.
Sounds just like her though.

I know a confounding amount of people making the claim that you did the right thing. Might seem to infer that you didn't because hey we didn't know how nice she could have been but that doesn't mean what a number of people are telling you is a lie. She was a problem. Not yours. But her own and in the end she tried to ruin your life by making you feel guilty for breaking it off. Guess what else is nifty about this complex. (((They))) at Netflix literally made a HIT SHOW with that exact premise, the show being 13 reasons why. It is literal propaganda persuading the idea that suicidal people have been killed by others. DO NOT BLAME YOURSELF.
James James
What do you mean by this
Camden Davis
>Her family no longer talks to me and claims that I am the reason why their daughter killed herself.
If anything you were the reason she lived a few more years. Sorry to hear about that, m8.
Isaiah Powell
BPD is borderline personality disorder, retard

Just avoid women with Borderline Personality Disorder
You cannot fix it and they are the world's worst people
Jordan Smith
He's straightforward
Aaron Barnes
>She was a problem. Not yours. But her own What is commitment and faithfulness? >the idea that suicidal people have been killed by others They do obviously
Luis Roberts
I lived with a woman who had a history of abuse as a child, rape, abortion, drug addiction. On top of that she had serious health problems: many serious allergies, asthma, her foot was fucked up so she often ended up twisting her ankle and unable to walk freely.
It’s not like I list all these things to blame them on her… What I want to say is these issues compound each other and there seems to be no end in sight. It was like abuse rollercoaster for me. She would get belligerent over some petty things, then she would refuse sex for months, then she’d have her allergies so she doesn’t want to have sex and so on and so on.
Colton Sullivan
Dated a girl with bipolar personality disorder and really troubled childhood. She was intelligent, funny, but also crazy. And turned really crazy over the year. Manic psychosis, deep depressions, social anxiety. She's gonna commit suicide soon. She told me that she doesn't want to fight anymore. She has nothing left. No friends, no family. Can't even take care of her cat anymore so it went to the animal shelter. Don't do it OP. I know things can go different for you, but this shit truly fucked me up. I loved her deeply, and now when I see her, shes a shadow of the woman she once was. It's sad.
Angel Gomez
>Just avoid women with Borderline Personality Disorder
>yfw you realize all women have BPD
its literally Woman: The Disease
William Cooper
I was involved with about as crazy a bitch as they get. i have literally beeb telling her to fuck off for nearly 5 years and she still thinks were together
Cameron Brown
What if I'm the mentally ill person in the relationship?
Luke Flores
I don't want this to be true.
Owen Cook
She slept her way through every group of people I got to know doing art and music, which, i do not exaggerate, led to the dissolution of almost every scene she moved through. Nobody trusts each other now, nobody can hang with each other or work with each other... The moral of her story is not to fraternize with crazy women with loose morals. Not even once.
Liam Wilson
everybody being nice and lying to this user to make him feel good and reflect Wrong! When you commit to a relationship you take everything or you are using the person. If you use a weak minded person and cause a suicide it's probably your fault. Lying to user wont help him reconsider the way he treat other people
Jacob Scott
Think about it. She can't fuck with you. Hell, play your cards right, maybe she won't even find you. Plus nobody will be able to say you're the asshole... you're in a fucking monastery.
It's holy Saturday user it's like a sign from God.
Dylan Watson
>BPD isn't real
It's definitely real, whatever you want to call it.
I was lucky enough to be in a relationship with one 15 years ago. Nothing else can force you to question reality in quite the same way. Their entire existence is a mask. Like a chameleon, they become whoever you want them to be, without ever you saying a word. Mine was extreme, to be sure; but once you understand them, you can spot a few in any public gathering.
Borderline chicks are the big game hunting version of dating. These are the gals who will suck your asshole out through your cock in a bathroom stall 5 minutes after you meet, cook you breakfast the next morning, break up with you by 11am, and still convince you to have dinner with their family 6 hours later.
Nothing else can match the intensity or pleasure of a Borderline, once you learn that they’re like riding a rollercoaster at an amusement park.
Alexander Rogers
It's not, but it's common enough you could easily make the mistake.
Don't fall for this fallacy of low expectations, user, your future depends on it
borderline is usually women that were raped or hit as kids
Dominic Torres
>her family Are the ones who raised her yup be that way. Look user, they're trying to do it to you, too!
Evan Ramirez
>he dated a woman with depression
Top cuck. Why so many people dating women with depression in here? Depressed people are the biggest piece of shit assholes in the world. They will fuck you over at every turn because of "muh feels" and "w-well... i had depression that day"
Typical depressed piece of shit. I hope they all kill themselves, they all deserve it.
Josiah Green
My Lauren wasn't that bad, but one if the more forgiving people I know has said he will never speak to her again because if the shit she pulls. "She is the devil."
With me specifically, she lied about her boyfriend to get my attention, then used me for a few months to make him jealous. She lead me on, told me she loved me and then dropped me at literally the first opprtunity she had to get her other guy back. And then dropped him for another guy less than a month later.
Which she also rubbed in my face.
I was probably 16 at the time. First girl I had ever really liked. Messed me up good. I still have trust issues.
She was a manipulative bitch, a liar, a cutter, and a slut. Pretty good for such a young age.
Jayden Rodriguez
Mental illness most of the time have to do with values more than psychology. Some Groups in western countries over diagnose people telling them they have mental illness when they don't. They push an agenda of profit, mental illness is mainly societal and it's an industry. Like with homosexuality they just enable weak minded people taking away their responsibility. Works wonder with women and nu-male. Actual mental illness (neuro chemistry disease) is actually quite rare. Liberal education and enablers and the drug industry on the other hand... >Show me lab results or the scan with the brain tumor otherwise you're just a whinny faggot who want attention and to be a snowflake
Jaxon Thompson
>imblying there's a woman without mental health issues
Joshua Ortiz
Pretty sure I gave her them. Seemed to have lost touch with herself ever since we went our separate ways.
James Butler
Maybe she was hit. She had severe father issues. And her mother fueled them by complaining about him constantly.
My mother and I independently came to the conclusion that "she acts like she's been abused."
So maybe she was. She never mentioned it, but she was FUCKED emotionally.
Carson Foster
Anybody think depressed people are selfish worthless ass holes who all need to die?
Every depressed person I've ever known was a self-obsessed worthless piece of shit. Usually a complete ass-hole on top of it.
If I meet somebody new or go on a date and find out the person "struggles with depression", I immediately bail and never talk to them again. "Depressed" people will stab you in the back, every time.
Lucas Perez
Psychiatry will diagnose anybody who take an appointment with something and offer some kind of label explaining everything and the pills to go with it. The endless cycle of therapy + treatment only damage the person ego (who was feeling bad in the first place for consulting) even further. The person who already had feels and difficulties to deal with now have to deal with a new addiction and the temptation of hiding behind the "label" (diagnostic) to justify every failure and to stay comfy in the loop of mental illness. The mix of addiction from the drugs and pressure from liberal enablers relative create an even bigger problem for someone with problems already. Do not avoid "mental illness", avoid the ideology.
Ian Ward
>(((Some Groups))) in western countries over diagnose people telling them they have mental illness when they don't.
Most people don't have mental illness. >Boo Hoo, life sucks is not a mental illness, it's just faggotry.
Yeah, life sucks. Santa Claus doesn't exist, and the Easter Bunny is an old drunk in a costume who wants to touch you in your bathing suit areas.
Buy a fucking helmet. Soon enough, you'll be the cunt in the Easter Bunny suit.
Leo Cox
All the feels in this thread are really harshing up my mellow over here. Since when was Sup Forums an emotional board? Usually this board is seen universally as the worst place to go for advice on anything of substance.
Jacob Wilson
That's borderline - stay as far away from any of those crazy fucks as you can, they ruin the lives of anyone who tries to put up with their bullshit. Wouldn't be surprised if the family thing was made up for attention too, I've known people who do shit like that.
Xavier Reyes
This is actually the truth. Very few people are genuinely mentally ill in a way that requires actual medical intervention- the exceptions being obvious and debilitating like schizophrenia
John Long
After so many reals, sometimes you have to deal with your feels.
Tyler Green
yes (((them))) big pharma etc, psychiatry and psy wards are like prisons, there purpose is containment for people unable to function socially. Avoid at all cost, and avoid people who indulge on this life style. A normal person facing psychological adversity will be crushed and feel depressed, mourn etc maybe even anhero or whatever but hiding behind the word depression or any other psychiatric "label" is completly different. Same difference between ignoring a red light and going to jail. A smart person who suffer will stay away from an institution making profit on demencia for his own safety so if you met a girl or anyone who already have a "label" or is enabling other just stay away or try to reason the person. >Reasoning >Women
Justin Kelly
Oh yeah, dated a girl with "chronic depression" for 2 years. Worst experience of my life.
During this one thunderstorm that triggered her, she absolutely freaked the fuck out. She turned the TV off, turned to me on the couch, and just started sobbing like she found out her parents died. She wrapped her arms and legs around me and squeezed like an anaconda. She had some kind of tard strength coursing through her because I genuinely felt threatened. I got rough and had to force her off me because she absolutely refused to budge while still sobbing. > started walking home in the pouring rain to get away She pulls up besides me down the street and gives me a ride home, still sobbing, asking if I'd kill her. Couple minutes later she was filled with rage and said if I ever mentioned it again, she'd kill herself and get me in prison then she would sob and try to squeeze me again.
It doesn't sound as awful as it was, but I can't explain the vibes she was giving me off. Like a serial killer truly at the edge, her screams and utter desperation were palpable and made my blood curdle. It was borderline paranormal.
Would never recommended under any circumstances. She has a new boyfriend now, and I pray for that fucker all the time.
Logan Clark
>gf >not ex Also, all of those are mutually exclusive, there's no such thing as having more than one of them - bipolar includes all the symptoms of depression, schizophrenia plus depression or bipolar symptoms is schizoaffective, and borderline just means "pathologically a giant attention whoring cunt" which is what leads them to self diagnosing themselves with something that makes them sound less like the awful person they are.
Landon Rivera
My wife has OCD. I'm not particularly bothered, partially because it's supposed to be correlated with high intelligence (and she is unironically very intelligent), partially because I wouldn't even know about it if she didn't tell me. You see, my wife is actually responsible and works on keeping it under control. You wouldn't know by observing her behaviour, either.
My opinion is that these things can't be generalised because it depends on a) what kind of an issue your loved one has, b) how hard she works on getting better. Some combinations of these two factors make certain women extremely unappealing, but some are okay.
Austin Myers
Damn, just how hot was she?
Brandon Myers
it's become very very common to the pont that alot of people accept it
it's horrifying desu
Jason Thomas
Sadly I think my standards might be too high, user.
Luis Green
>chronic depression
See? That's what im talking about. The Concept in itself is stupid. "Depression" according to serotonin reuptake inhibitors merchants supposedly have to do with the brain inability to produce enough serotonin. Where are the labs test ? Isn't this just legal slow release ecstasy ? A potent drug and very dangerous addiction ?
Tyler Collins
Maybe.
My wife committed suicide after miscarriage, and the second wife died in a car crash (also pregnant)
That's what I get for trying to have a life. I bet some witch put a curse on me
