This is an iconic Aussie song to this day, it's about the Crusades and is now synonymous with Australian Football. As soon as any Aussie hears that guitar riff they will belt out the first few verses

It amazes me to this day that literally only a few decades ago life was completely different, nothing can compare to such a drastic change within a few generations
Not exactly the same but I loved La La Land because I grew up watching old musicals from this time period with my parents.

Ain't I Right: Marty Robbins [1966]

Fun fact, this was never published, because it was considered too extreme for the ((publisher)) to handle
Context around the song:
For those who aren't aware of what this song is actually referring, it was written to show opposition to the "Freedom Riders," who were groups of communist whites, jews and blacks from northern states who would ride desegregated buses into southern towns to start trouble with the locals, often inciting brawls. This was done to stir up northern sentiment against the southern policy of segregation. This song was banned from the airwaves because it was feared that it would stir up southerners against the plan of action that was "Civil rights." This was premeditated, and the (((northern media))) swallowed hook, line, and sinker.
I fucking Love this thread.
