> A leading weapons academic has claimed that the Khan Sheikhoun nerve agent attack in Syria was staged, raising questions about who was responsible.
> Theodore Postol, a professor emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), issued a series of three reports in response to the White House's finding that Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad perpetrated the attack on 4 April.
Guess we've found one of putin's sleeper agents. I hope they take him out and shoot him.

>The counter-narrative offered by the Russians and Syrians, however, has been minimized, mocked and ignored by both the American media and the Trump administration. So, too, has the very illogic of the premise being put forward to answer the question of why President Assad would risk everything by using chemical weapons against a target of zero military value, at a time when the strategic balance of power had shifted strongly in his favor. Likewise, why would Russia, which had invested considerable political capital in the disarmament of Syria’s chemical weapons capability after 2013, stand by idly while the Syrian air force carried out such an attack, especially when their was such a heavy Russian military presence at the base in question at the time of the attack?
>Such analysis seems beyond the scope and comprehension of the American fourth estate. Instead, media outlets like CNN embrace at face value anything they are told by official American sources, including a particularly preposterous insinuation that Russia actually colluded in the chemical weapons attack; the aforementioned presence of Russian officers at Al Shayrat air base has been cited as evidence that Russia had to have known about Syria’s chemical warfare capability, and yet did nothing to prevent the attack.
>To sustain this illogic, the American public and decision-makers make use of a sophisticated propaganda campaign involving video images and narratives provided by forces opposed to the regime of Bashar al-Assad, including organizations like the “White Helmets,” the Syrian-American Medical Society, the Aleppo Media Center, which have a history of providing slanted information designed to promote an anti-Assad message (Donald Trump has all but acknowledged that these images played a major role in his decision to reevaluate his opinion of Bashar al-Assad and order the cruise missile attack on Al Shayrat airbase.)
Huffpo already covered this quite well.

FOR Assad dropping the gas:
CIA said Gassad popped Sarin gas everywhere, provided no proof tho Literally the jews in Israel said they agreed A video that supposedly shows victims (but wait) being helped by white helmets group
Against Assad dropping gas:
Why would Assad start pissing everyone off when he is winning? USA already said they got rid of Assad's chemical weapons and his ability to make them years ago in a widely publicised and international operation. The CIA and Israelis lied about that last time he supposedly used them, turns out it was the rebels, confirmed by MIT maths and UN. Video of victims shows rescue workers running in to help people in only gas masks, no gloves etc, and rinsing survivors with water to clear what we are told was Sarin away, this is shonky for the following reasons: Sarin gas kills on skin contact in stupidly tiny amounts, if the rescuers entered a Sarin zone without full Has gear they would also die; Sarin gas does not leave survivors; White Helmets are a confirmed ISIS / CIA linked group, and numerous photos exist of the white helmets posing for happy photos with the "victims" who are all smiles at the scene of the "attack" and engaging in executions.
I'm summation, no proof has been provided for beyond the word of organisations with a history of lies on the subject, and the story is full of holes, and the video and associated photos contradict themselves every other minute. Probably a staged attack to try and built a narrative to remove Assad.

most of the evidence for is 2nd and 3rd hand reports from groups known to be against assad, there is of course some stuff that looks fairly bad for him but not much direct proof. as for the stuff against him doing the attack, well the biggest thing is that for once assad actually had the world on his side. worldleaders that had been trying to get him overthrown for years had started to back him in his fight against isis. hell the america was actually planing to put some major firepower on his side to clean up isis. that would have cause all kinds of trouble for the people that dont want syria under his control. then boom the attack happens and EVERYONE is against him again. for him to have done that attack is a level of retardation that is insane. he threw away 100% guaranteed support of his power just so he could gas some people. there is only 2 options, it was faked buy the people that dont want him in power or he is a level of insane that would make north korea tell him that he needs to get help.

Except we didn't. We bombed ISIS. Different group. Al Qaeda are a different set of dickbeans behind the Syrian war.
I'd be okay with bombing the shit out of them too, but that would mean a complete reversal of our (((economic interests))) in the area, so don't expect that to happen any time soon.

An entire UN investigative report was published showing that the Syrian Republic had chemical barrel bombs.
Conveniently enough, I can't find the link to the specific 80 something page report, but this is the link to their ongoing monthly reports about the chemical plants in Syria:
that's really retarded though, that's not how sarin works. Blowing sarin up does not release sarin.

Going to need some citations there. Unless of course you think al-qaeda and ISIS and Taliban are literally the same thing and can be used interchangably even though each group is at the others throat.

Ian Fisher
Thats besides the point. Chemical weapons have been used as a hobgoblin to justify military action for decades. Like in Iraq, Libya, and E. Ghouta (which was later disproven by the UN). Now we have a military strike conducted on dubious claims without so much as an investigation and we are supposed to eat it up because now we like the guy in power?
