Automation and AI

How do you plan to survive the automation of jobs and AI Sup Forums? How should we as Humanity deal with our job market and robots over time?

businessinsider.com/momentum-machines-is-hiring-2016-6

Hope that ain't the standard cause a burned roll destroys the burger.

>burger patty on top
I think my job position is safe if even robots fuck up the simplest of tasks

By adding laws that prevent companies from hiring only machines or alternatively tax the shit out of them and give the money to people as basic income.

> any government would do that

I hope the government lets people die or gives them a final "push" when automation becomes normal. We need less people for closer communities and healthier living.

>be mega-corporation
>automation takes everyone's jobs
>nobody can afford to buy my products due to lack of jobs
>go out of business

>2017
>not wanting a comfy welfare check

you do know automation makes these products super cheap though right? Labor is one of the highest costs when it comes to restaurants.

graduate school in a STEM field

Buy into the automation via shares and small business. If you are stupid enough to watch yourself go obsolete then there is no saving you.

...

Wasn't it Adam Smith that postulated that human desires are infinite?

I'm an analyst, my job is to automate jobs. My boss told me that on paper I am worth about 20 employees at least.

Companies are like cheap plastic bags, they bloat over time and are filled will holes. Most of the jobs lost by automation will move to new roles.

>those greasy bike chains next to the food
>coming soon

Yeah right.

Where would you draw the line between a simple tool and an automaton that steals jobs? One could argue that a calculator is used to steal the job of someone that could do the calculations on paper. Would your laws also apply to jobs that are already automated? Would they also tax hospitals that have a lot of automation and use it to save lives that couldn't be saved with manual methods that take more time and are less accurate?

>One could argue that a calculator is used to steal the job of someone that could do the calculations on paper.

Fucking leaf. Both a calculator and pen and paper require a person to use them. The calculator just makes it more convenient for the user.

> Adding laws

A fucking kraut.

There are many jobs that AI won't be able to fulfill

Personally, I'm studying AI so my job is safe no matter what happens

>tfw working in it
>tfw test specialist
>mfw i know we're starting ai related multinatinal project in few months
robots will take my job in somewhere around 100years from now

we're still not able to make good self learning algorithms or neural networks.

i bet it is the same problem for those "undercover organisations"

>everyone on Sup Forums is working in AI and they brag about how their jobs are safe

And you're a fucking Polack, no less.

>law will protect you

lemme' tell you that no law will be an obstruction for the progress.

computer science is the most popular major on Sup Forums so I wouldn't doubt that there's a significant amount of us here

anyone has these type of meme but its about embracing christianity

>BURNT BUN

THATS ITS, ITS OVER

AI IS FINISHED

>dumb nigger burger how big it hub poland is
You should go back to school tyrone

Ever heard of food grade lubricant?

mmmm that looks delicious. i love being a burger

>flips it upside down
what now, goy?

Exactly. Even a simple computer macro/program which automates routine data processing or copies and pastes data from one place to another is arguably a "robot".

The end effect of this is that the person who operates the program for the routine tasks is far more productive than the person who spends the better part of the day doing the same.

More productivity means a higher salary down the road.

did you have a stroke while typing that out?

Get in school and learn to program those bots.

what's worse is that it appears to be a disgusting veggie burger

>...*don't know...
shit
this.
although i've studied phylosophy
>mfw when it is very much welcomed in high tech industry

>computer science is the most popular major on Sup Forums

Computer science is not just AI. It seems like everyone on Sup Forums claims to be working on AI or robotics.

when there's a thread about AI, it tends to attract people from that field

think for a moment you dummy

>cucked by Germany
>cucked by USSR
>cucked for being Poles.

Born cucked, die cucked. The Polish way.

>there's a lot of compannies interested in ai & robotics
>it/tech industry hire almost everyone who knows at least something about it
>it is quite easy to work on something that's highly interesting for plebs, what you're calling "job"
yeah tyrone... you know shit about world you're living in

So Sup Forums consists mostly of people in the AI/robotics field and not NEET alt-right nationalists?

Jesus bro, get your thoughts together.

Remember when half the fucking country were farmers? Society is not going to collapse because muh (((automation))).

you cant stop the future with laws

>>there's a lot of compannies interested in ai & robotics
No doubt about it.
>it/tech industry hire almost everyone who knows at least something about it
No doubt about it.
>it is quite easy to work on something that's highly interesting for plebs, what you're calling "job"
No doubt about it.

Are doing some kind of Polish joke in reverse?

>throwing insults
for another time you showed how much of a nigger you are. and a fucking dumb on top of that.

well obviously you don't work in the field because you have absolute no grasp on the use of formal logic or the understanding of statistics

Let the poor and middle class starve. Fuck those that can't afford the machines and materials to make necessities to live. They should've worked harder. Let all us rich folk live on a space station, like in Elysium.

it will.
due to the fact that advanced robotics combined with ai wouldn't require human input. and what will it do to its owner? how would people sustain themselves without source of revenue?

inb4
communism failed
kys nigger

>us rich folk

I severely doubt it user

>us rich folk
not even 1bln$ would give you the chance of getting into that sweet ark.

...

>throwing insults
>saying "kys nigger"

Yikes.

surviving won't be very hard with radical abundance. unless you're some berniefag that thinks "only the rich" will have access to anything.

When did I say I did work in the field? I just refuse to believe that most of Sup Forums are ai/robotics experts.

just
fuck off

Lower the working hours.
Boom, millions of new jobs.

I'm contributing to it. Better robots than niggers

this

I really dont want a job that can be done by an automated process. I have enough simple bullshit tasks I have to do

basic things we have automated dont work correctly and we end up adding to our workload by fixing it

shut the fuck up vodkanigger

>read about the burger machine 7 years ago

>99% fastfood places still use humans

Damn, what will we ever do

We need to get our shit together on Automation.

It is inevitable and when it shows up its going to completely buttrape the economy and the job market.

Seriously the only viable solution i've seen is this UBI shit and I would rather die than let the governments dirty filthy jewish hands anywhere near my income and my money any more than they already do.

Is there even a solution to this problem that isn't "lmao ebbin ignore it." from the right and "Lmao lets ebbin give Communism another shot bruh :D" from the left?

>artist
>everyone said I'd starve
>Will never get replaced by a robot

>tomato thicker than the meat
>pickles and onions as thick as the meat
>top bun burned
>toppings all under the meat

Stupid machines

I bring back traditiinal shops, with a heavy enohasis in quality and costumer relationship like in the old days.
I work on the store aesthetics so it looks nice and classy.
Then I market the shit out off it.

>>automation takes everyone's jobs
>price of labor comes down
>now everyone has jobs again

>is there an answer
no...
and it's fucking frightening.
no one was talking loudly about attempting to form some laws or at least "code of conduct" because a lot of young it is left leaning and no one from the goverment would even understand what are those people talking about

we're in very deep shit, because someone's already working on it and has some successes yet everyone acts like nothing happened.

and still people would much more likely to go somewhere with faster and cheaper services
also
nuke lisboa pls

Automation is a meme
Well played

>>is there an answer
Yes its called deflation

it won't help.
and full automation will only come if its self sustainable, which means self replicating, self learning robots
which basically is eviction notice for humanity

looks tasty, tbhfam

why would anyone ever program AI to remove humans?

>toppings all under the meat

Try it sometime, seriously

>how I met your mother

because IT is full of spergs?
i would do that if i'll be enough programming literate out of pure spite...
unleashing it is a different topic tho. but it can be freed out of mistake or a bug.

something like that would be pretty hard to hide in your code

>hide
no one would hide anything.

maybe the public wouldn't know, but people involved will be praising it and it's creator.
i've heard some stories, but don't have any sources so it will be as good as /x/ tale

something like that would leak out

>Realize low-tier jobs will disappear.
>Realize the business opportunities of having a full human work force as a selling point (restaurants, Shops, etc.)
>Realize everyone categorized these jobs as "it's no future".
>Realize we really don't have to make big career changes.
>Realize that if you don't have a respectable college degree in 2017, you should get one.
>Realize jobs have been automatized a long time ago.
>Realize that all those bots will need maintenance.
>Realize that most of the stuff you learned in school you can become an expert in and no bot(yet) can take that from you.
>Realize that if you are a hacking expert, the world will be your Oyster.
>Realize that your big mac's greens will actually be in the burger instead of the box.

Trust me my friend, the future will be grand.

Are fucking serious? Are you actually making the argument that because a line has to be drawn between acceptable and unacceptable automation that we shouldn't try to save as many jobs as possible from it?

those are not govermental projects and even if so take into consideration the manhattan project
almost 100k people worked on it and surprise, surprise. no one told nothing ever.

so if you're paying someone good money, he's doing what he likes, why should he go full snowden?

because the AI would kill his family too

he won't care. it is the progress after all.
true progress not some multiculti shit.

seriously. no one would bother.

>industrial revolution
>90% of world population are farmers/herders
>oh noes, were going to lose all our jobs, what do we do?

>information age
>all industrial jobs are sent over seas
>oh noes, were going to lose all our jobs, what do we do?

>AI/robotics age
>gets rid of industrial/service jobs
>ushers in leisure age where people are not dependent on industrial economy to survive
>oh noes, were going to lose all our jobs, what do we do?

I'm a software developer, my job will be one of the last to go due to our fear of AI reproduction slash Skynet.

>We need to have open borders to let in immigrants do the low paying jobs no one else wants to do, goyim
>there's no point in closing the borders to force wages up because everything will be automated soon, goy

get a computer science degree
/thread

Small problem with that. There is a gun for every man woman and child in the U.S. and at least 40% of the population is armed. When the government starts pushing, that's when the U.S. ceases to exist in its current form.

...

Have you had the Chili's black bean patty? That shit is the stuff, so much protein.

basic income, otherwise.... cannibalism.

>super cheap
Even super cheap can get super expensive if you don't have any money.

Not work at mcdonalds you fucking neet

own the robot

I'm more worried about running out of fossil fuel before robots taking jobs

By having a job in medicine that cant be replaced with a machine.

>when the rich are no longer rich because there is no poor and society becomes government and military only

The funny thing it a lot of medical jobs would be easy to automate, it will just happen very slowly as people do not like to turn themselves over to machines.

>pooland

youre asking a group of retards that think the loss in jobs over years is due to mexicans what they think the future of the economy should be?

lol

I survive it by engineering the machines, programming them, and performing service calls when something goes wrong.
