>Guy forgets to $75 fee for fightfighting >Kid makes fire on the side of the house, get outta control >Guy calls fire deparement >they don't respond to fire, saying they are not on the list >Fire deparment finally shows up, puts out the fire on fence because the neighbours DID pay $75 >Guy loses 3 dogs, 1 cat. >Insurance company will pay only a little bit >guy lives on a trailer in his land
Bonus: >homeowner's son gets charged with assault because he tried to beat the fire chief
You know if this was today, he would've been a Trump supporter.
Anthony Hall
>fee to fight fire Canada
L O L O L
Robert James
why not just make it a fee, if you dont pay every month and something happens you have to pay a large sum afterwords in payments...seems like a simple fix
Asher Allen
You know there are volunteer fire departments, right?
Jonathan Moore
Did you even watch the video you retard? >Live outside city limits >don't pay city taxes that FUND FIRE DEPARTMENT >city says if you want volunteers to go out to bumblefuck nowhere to risk their lives for you that you have to pay your fair share like everyone else HURR DURR LOLBERTARIANS AMIRITE It's the guys own fault for being retarded and expecting handouts I mean fuck even if this was a gommie country the guy would have been left to burn because he didn't contribute in taxes. Get fucked OP
Angel Lewis
Couldn't that be dangerous the neighbor? If the guy had stored gasoline or something it seems like there could be an explosion that sends fragments over to the neighbor.
I'd call the cops on the firefighters and say they were allowing a public safety risk haha.
The cops would tell those little bitches to put out the fire.
Julian Brooks
>forgets to $75 fee for fightfighting What.
Jordan Ward
>lolbertarians btfo I'd be waiting with my shotgun to make sure no government fire bureau agents violated the NAP by restricting the size of my rightfully owned fire.
Ethan Edwards
that's exactly the point ooga booga.
That people are too dumb to be left alone to anarchy. The dude's son almost killed the fire cheaf. And it's not like they are some hippie, or socialists. There are some redneck MAGA wearing rednecks.
Hudson Turner
This worked exactly as it should. Fuck the welfare state and fuck the freeloaders.
Colton Bailey
anual fee for fire protection is $75. You pay, firetruck comes helps.
Matthew Gomez
I didn't realize this was a sad occasion.
Anthony Kelly
>libertarian >anarchocapitalist
Pick one
The roles of government should include A) Military B) Cops/prisons C) Firefighters D) Roads.
Everything else is unnecessary. And if you can get on board with that, guess what? That's libertarian.
Zachary Young
This is an example of libertarianism working correctly.
Lucas King
A FUCKING LEAF
Levi Sanders
This.
>hurr durr but he didnt pay the fee
How much tax money do you think he has paid into the coffers?
Should we let his house burn down but let a welfare recipient who hes paying for and paid the fee to have theirs saved?
If you want your $75 lolbertarian firefight fee then get rid of all income tax... you cant just enact all the bad bits of libertarianism while also fucking the guy over with your socialism too.
Bentley Peterson
>Trump supporter. You know 99% of fire fighters are not federal
Oliver Jackson
lol this guy... >muh list friendly reminder that these are the burgers posting on Sup Forums
Luke Smith
i think you're retarded
Mason Jenkins
>so the nanny state needs to protect us Have you considered if he was too dumb to take care of his house, he didn't deserve it?
Dylan Sullivan
yeah before someones house gets burned down over a 75$ fee the US should be getting all the leeching illegals and welfare cucks out
Matthew Carter
Why not just pay taxes you poor fucking nigger?
Ethan Martin
Did you even watch the video? He lived outside the city limits MEANING he didn't pay the local taxes that fund the fire department.
Nathaniel Hughes
your dumb ass understands that the taxes he pays are covering all of the infrastructure around him, right? he doesn't pay the firefighter taxes to the city because he doesn't live in it, so he has to pay a yearly fee, it's simple.
you're a moron.
Kevin Johnson
Fire took 2 hours to reach his house and he did not pull his pets out?
Austin Cook
but they burned a neighbors house too that did pay
Charles Cook
he probably didnt have a pet basket on his mobility scooter
Benjamin Lopez
>implying firefighters aren't 90% volunteers >implying there isn't a such thing as a 'bill' or a 'loan'
Samuel Price
The fire department was a city department. The resident lived in the county and did not pay city taxes. There was no county fire department. To cover the added cost of covering county residents who wanted firefighters to cover their property, the city department charges $75 a year. This land owner chose not to pay the fee. The department did not render service that wasn't paid for. In other words, the homeowner lost everything because he chose not to pay $75 a year. Which makes him a dumbass.
Eli Brooks
>lolbertarians BTFO >Because a government fire department screwed him over >A government fire department
If anything this proves the case of the Libertarians, as always. You can never depend on government,
>Depend on government. >Call government >They laugh at you and mock you while your dogs die.
It's a sad story, but anyone who calls the government usually ends up with this kind of pain.
Ayden Kelly
no i didnt watch the video because i dont give a shit
firefighting should be county/state/federal funded
america is such a fucking joke. you pay almost half your money in tax but the govt cant afford a service as simple as firefighting?
>"let me take half your money..oh by the way we have nothing left because we used it to feed illegal shitskins and nigger babies so youre going to have to pay for fire service yourself. k thx."
do you understand how insane your nation is? YOU RAPE YOUR PEOPLE WITH TAX AND THEN MAKE THEM PAY ADDITIONALLY FOR EVERY SERVICE SAID TAX IS SUPPOSED TO COVER.
Andrew Parker
>YOU RAPE YOUR PEOPLE WITH TAX AND THEN MAKE THEM PAY ADDITIONALLY FOR EVERY SERVICE SAID TAX IS SUPPOSED TO COVER and again, the guy lived somewhere WHERE HE DIDN'T PAY THOSE TAXES
Jaxon Hall
It's his fault for not paying. Why do you statist parasites expect everything for free?
Ethan Bailey
Who pays half their income in tax?
I make about 135k. Say 11k federal, another 4500 state tax. About 7k property. We're up to about 22k. FICA is what, 8%? Too lazy to check statement so let's round and call that 10k for kicks. The only thing left is sales tax, say 2-3k per year.
Just round numbers, let's call it 35k a year over 135k salary. Not even close to approaching "half".
Bentley Young
Yes.
Gavin Flores
You're retarded or larping.
Fed on $135k is $25k married or $31k single.
$11k? Really?
Jeremiah Moore
So the fire department is an insurance company? What the flying fucking shit is that? They compared it to paying for car insurance AFTER a car wreck, which is bullshit. You aren't paying for them to reimburse your fucking house, you're paying them to put out the fire. It's a service. I pay you a few hundred bucks, you put out the fire. Probably the most retarded thing I've ever heard.
Owen Garcia
>The roles of government should include A) Military B) Cops/prisons C) Firefighters D) Roads.
How would it deal with: disease outbreaks, waste disposal, water supply, or natural disasters?
Caleb Perez
fee or not, what kind of retarded fireman lets a fire grow?
Christian Murphy
>Guy forgets to $75 fee for property insurance >Kid makes fire on the side of the house, get outta control >Guy calls insuranse company >they don't respond to fire, saying they are not on the list >Insurance company finally shows up, pays for fire on fence because the neighbours DID pay $75 >guy lives on a trailer in his land
You aren't guaranteed anything in life. Pay your bills or bad things will happen. It's funny how we accept things are pretty much equally bad, but not others.
Charles Williams
...
James Thompson
All the other neighbors paid 75$ every year. That paid for the truck, the salaries and the dog with the funny hat.
This fucker wants to get his neighbors to pay for his share of the dog's funny hat, until he actually needs them. fuck him
Anthony Davis
Nah, it is a bit less. AGI for last year was 125, taxable down to just over 80. Between itemized deduction on mortgage, prop taxes, remodel energy credits, realized some losses to take advantage of the loss. It's not that hard.
Here's my Fed only effective rate for the last x years prior to last year: 10.97% 12.11% 14.39% 8.50% 11.12% 10.83% 14.01% 8.95% 7.29% 7.44%
My point is that 50% is pretty outrageous even for an exaggeration. I don't have anything to complex going on, no schemes, just making upper middle incoming in an overpriced real estate area that can pay some dividends back come tax time.
Xavier Richardson
>guy doesn't pay $75 a year for 10 years >that will be $750 please.
What's so hard about that?
Joshua Cooper
Standing in front of burning house doing nothing when you're a firefighter, while demanding payment from the homeowner is extortion, you delusional dipshit.
Parker Powell
People should work for free and owe society the product of their labor.
James Cooper
this kills the statist none of them can explain why we didnt have a hiring freeze in the 80s when we had more than enough firemen to fight an ever decreasing number of fires and thats why market distortion is retarded
Ayden Rivera
It's not hard to get from $31k to $11k when your taxable income went from $135 claimed to $80k and a shit load of deductions. You're not being intellectually honest.
If you were truly taxed on $135k you're already up to nearly $31k single. Then add state, property, SS, etc and you are paying almost $50k. That is a fuck ton.
In reality you are making $80k for tax purposes. That isn't very much because you are in a lower mid bracket.
Luke Morris
This situation isn't that far out of the norm. Married, kids, house. Like I said originally, it's all run of the mill shit that is deducted.
Implying that someone would quote adjusted gross income as "what they make" in a conversation is ridiculous.
Play it back even at the highest effective federal rate. I was at 14% on a standard deduction, state tax at 3.5. So now we're at 18, throw in FICA and sales tax and you're still not tipping 30-35% all in. Maybe that's a fuck ton, maybe not.
The point is that very few people are paying astronomical sums, and if they are, it's because they can. If I'm paying 50k in taxes, I'm rolling in cash and I have no problem with my status in life. Certainly not what a pure "fed incremental rate % x income" napkin math would be.
Xavier Martinez
>le land of the free because muh guns >break a leg >become poor >smoke weed in your private domicile >get jail >torrent a movie >get your internet shut down
I truly dont understand why they call America the land of the free
Matthew Johnson
>Fire departments are literally communism! Lol fucking Sup Forums's a joke
Juan Gray
Says the guy from a country that paid a bunch of African firefighters to sit around and accept gibs.
Wyatt Watson
Why not just support Libertarianism at the state and Federal level? I think cities should be free to govern themselves and manage their own roads and fire stations.
Luke Bailey
You are honestly in a lower bracket for being married. Half the country doesn't pay tax, and you are only paying 11% fed.
There are other people in the world who need to make up the difference despite sacrificing and working hard for their money. I'm sick of having to pay for other people's children instead of my own... I pay a lot closer to 50% than I do 0.
I hear the same shit from my brother in law "why do you care so much about taxes? It's not a big deal." In reality I am paying my fair share and his. He's fucking clueless.
