Why does this country exist?

How is it any different from Russia?

Russian puppet state, last dictatorship of Europe.

I believe most people just tend to forget the country exists.

>I believe most people just tend to forget the country exists.
That is as it should be. Do-nothing buffer states between Russia and NATO are good for stability.

>How is it any different from Russia?
Read about Union of Lublin

Part which stayed with contemporary Lithuania is Belarus

>dictatorship
>puppet

Autism is strong in this post.

Because you, Americans and Germans decided to export some commies to the Russian Empire. They carved it up in a bunch of republics and promoted fake identities.
At least Baltics, Caucasus and Central Asia make sense. They are really different people and deserve their own countries. But Belarus and Ukraine are non-states.

Belarus is different from Russia because they're the white Russians.

>Byelorussia
>white Russia
It was briefly the home of the Tsarist loyalists in exile after the 1917 revolution, and now ironically it's the last SSR in existence, with a no-shit KGB and everything. Things seem to be trending towards the more open though, given that there are couple of cool Belarussian posters that show up in /ptg/ every now and then.

Also in Star Trek, Worf grew up in Minsk.

They are closer to Poland ethnically and culturally than (((Ukraine))) and have better chance of success in future if they ever get out of russian sphere of influence

>Why does this country exist?
outsources its IT specialists, UK will never catch up

do the island nations in the Caribbean deserve there own countries

Pic related is how i see belarus

A Belarussian oil engineer once gave me quick rundowns on the nature of the Saudi oil fields when I was discussing the water angle. That was pretty neat.

I don't know if I know anybody IRL who has interacted with a Belarussian at all, let alone discussing technical details of major geopolitical issues. It's those odd happenstances that make Sup Forums worthwhile.

I am one quarter Belarussian, got relatives there

It's basically an old fashioned monarchy with some soviet flavour. They took the best parts of the Soviet ideology and purged the rest to create a fairly traditional state.
Probably the best country in Europe at this point but they keep themselves to themselves so it's difficult to confirm.

Is it a dictatorship?

not a democracy

Belarus is not a small country, the size of Greece, Sweden or Hungary, and bigger than Bulgaria or Serbia, but God they are irrelevant.

Sort of. Politically speaking, Belarus is unremarkable and uninspiring. But society-wise it's kinda better than Russia, with a less decadent population. Those are not connected.

will be annexed.

they drink more alcohol though, Belarus is #1 in the world by alcohol consumption

if that's not degenerate then OK

There is literally nothing wrong with drinking heavily within your own home or at whatever the Russian version of a pub is.
It's clubbing and partying that is degenerate.

no

Looks decent enough.
But it's fascinating just how completely unremarkable and irrelevant they are.
In 2017 I don't think I've heard the name Belarus or thought about them till today.

I forgot this country existed

>Why does this country exist?
nato
>How is it any different from Russia?
less muslims

Why shouldn't we? How does this relate to Stalinist policies of creating fake countries?

>Ukraine are non-states.
>flag
wtf

There is pressure on Belarus from both sides, Russian and EU. Lukashenko is trying his best to maneuver between those sides and get as much benefits as he get from that situation. They jailed some opposition leaders in the past but those guys are just pro EU paid shills without any solid alternative propositions on how to make people's lives better. They only want to get power and government money so no real value is lost when some loud mouth retard who's trying to stir up violence from his public fagbook page goes to jail really. Most so called opposition leaders live in Baltic republics, all they do all day is shitpost all day about how Belarus government is an ebil fascist commie dictators.

got a NK wibe from this one

No more puppet state or dictatorship than Netherlands

Come visit ;)

>last dictatorship of Europe

So young, so naive. The whole EU is a dictatorship

Дa я caм бeлopyc, y мeня вcя poдня в минcкe живeт.

This guy knows what's up.

Not to mention most of so-called opposition leaders want to turn the country into socialist cuckland like Sweden.

how's life in your country? I assume you aren't a proxyfag

Hold up for a moment mate. Take that back. Dictatorships are 100x more legitimate than the EU will ever be.

They are not so irrelevant as some think. Belarus refines a lot of Russia's oil and has pipeline to Europe. They still have a lot of functioning factories built by the Soviets.

it's true.
ukraine is way too big to just be ukraine
pic is all the languages currently spoken in ukraine.

t. russian-ukrainian mix

I plan to visit you guys, because you are very close to my home, but language barrier is a thing and I have no idea what sights can I see
also, how are hookers in Belarus?
will I get in trouble for fucking them? I know it's illegal

literally a tractor

Wow so what's the solution then?

comfy af

my favourite blue
no homo

i love that pattern on the left someone make a sweater out of it

Not a proxyfag.

Not that bad desu. The biggest downside for me personally is that's a rather closed country, and getting a travel visa to EU or US can be a hassle sometimes.

Otherwise - I've got a well paying job in an international IT company, so no complains there, although unemployment is a big issue in general. Country is like 97% white, which is nice. Liberal cancer is largely absent. Overall, I would describe life here as rather quiet and uneventful.

Because this the best you can afford to buy on welfare you recieve from EU.

belarus.com/

>Liberal cancer is largely absent.
Great, I assume little crime as well. You people will inherit Europe once it goes to shit so remain vigilant.

I don't think language barrier is going to be a huge issue. Many Belarussians travel to Poland for shopping, so they know at least some Polish, and young people usually speak some English as it's studied in schools.

As for hookers - I really don't know, sorry.

How hard is to get a job at IT there? What skills would I need to get some junior position?

holy fuck sounds like a place to live
how's the attitude towards georgians and caucasians in general?

new ones look dull

handling this bad boy defines who you are as a man

ok then, is backpacking with tent and essentials viable? I live in Bialystok, so it is really close for me to get to you guys.
I want to not get robbed or thrown into jail for crime I wont even know when I commit it

Zetor is Czech, mister burger

This is the most known Belarussian product

Don't let this picture fool you. This is a classic Soviet tactic. They fix up all the public areas like town squares and government buildings, and build nice big gardens. They do this to distract you from the crumbling tenements and poverty-stricken worker's housing for the pollution-belching factories.

Not hard, although most companies demand at least some formal IT education - whether it's university diploma or some certificate from training courses. English knowledge is a must. I'd say that for junior positions they will be mostly looking for someone who's willing to learn and can work with others, rather than any specific skills.
Fine, as long as they don't mess around like in Moscow and St Petersbourg.

I like your flag

sounds depressing, do they have places on detroit level?

I remember having a belaz toy car as a kid...carried loads of sand with it

well that is understandable

you gotta at least put some spurdo stickers on it if you plan to park it near some historic building in Tartu

that's because they stole their technology from Belarus

Thanks man. Might try to put up some resume soon. I have an opportunity to get a job in Moscow but that city is too big and Belarus looks more comfy desu.

I think Belarus is at least as safe as Poland to travel, so you'll be fine.
Good luck!
Not really. I was watching a video about Detroit recently. We have some pretty depressing places, but nothing so... abandoned.

k then, expect me this summer

Damn, I knew a Belarusian stripper back during my days living in Florida. Most beautiful woman I have ever seen, I wonder what happened to her. She claimed to be a computer engineer in Belarus and that she would strip 3 months a year in the USA. I wonder what happened to her

Is porn illegal in Belarus or is it just a slanderous myth?

Idk, maybe illegal to distribute, but certainly not to watch.

>visa application
>I am a computer engineer
>I would like to come to US to strip

wat

>Why does this country exist?
It doesn't exist as an independent country. If it ever shows signs of true independence Russia will invade it.

I would like to move and spend the rest of my life there.

From what I understand, Stalin gave Belarus its "independence" so he could get more votes in the UN back during the cold war. It is just a puppet state tho.

I've never felt anything for this goddamn shithole. And after recent events I started to hate it.
I've also read more about history of this place and came to conclusion that it's a fake country created by kikes/commies.
But giving up this clay to Russia is not an option.
The thing is that current Russia is just a shell of its former self. It basically got destroyed in 1917. And now it's run by kikes same as Ukraine. I hate it too.
The only solution is to nuke everything. It's a cursed place.

How would you feel if a serb migrated to your country?

wow. you're spot on.

i wish more people would understand the sheer scale of mass murder that occurred during the russian revolution and civil war.

moreover, i wish theyd know WHO did it, and i dont mean """""gommunists;DDD"""""
i mean ((((((((trotsky)))))))) and the like.

Amazingly enough, I had a Belarussian schoolmate in elementary school. He was really shy and quiet, but kinda smart and cool in his own way.

>How is it any different from Russia?
It's white

Belarus and Ukraine are sort of like Canada. No reason they should exist but they do for some reason

I also noticed that many Belarusians are a bit shy and introverted, is it a national trait?

So we don't have to share a border with Russia.

So edgy?
Strayan has a point
Do y'all understand other Slav languages or is it like a Spaniard trying to understand a Portuguese or Italian?

Because Russia cant legally execute people and also be part of G[Number] summits, because of human rights

basically modern gulag

It's so sad reading writings from Russian Imperial era while knowing what eventually happened in 1917 (not so long after Dostoievsky and Tolstoi), it's like Russians killed themselves. Doesn't matter if it was the Jews or not but they allowed it to happen.
And I'm not even ethnically Russian or slav so I can't begin to grasp the frustration it must have been, altough well what's important is the future right? Just pick up the pieces and move on.

Anything other than EU/NATO talking points?

I understand fully only Serbian, ofc there are words that i don't know, but i can speak with Serbnigger without dictionary. Other's are fucked up. I don't understand Polish. Understand little bit of Russian, Ukrainian and Czech. Slovene language is Slavic with some German sperm on top off it. Understand a little bit of bulgarian and macedonian. When I say a little bit i mean

TL;DR I understand (90% of Serbian) other

i can sort of understand ukrop when my dad speaks it (i speak rusfag)
i can make out a lot of words in other slavic languages.
the spanish/italian/portuguese analogy is actually quite fitting

They fucked themselves with Bloody Sunday.
>pass me more tinto, the pachanga just came!

This.

Apparent buffer between Russia and Poland?

spbp

If it was an EU state, Russia would get nervous
If it was a Russian state, EU would get nervous

Ukraine fucked up the balance, and they got a brand new shiny proxy war for their troubles

chto ti robish?

greatest ally

yes. thanks for saying that, m8.

most people didnt actually want the revolution.
the US army secured towns along the trans siberian railway, because bolsheviks alone were not strong enough.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Expeditionary_Force_Siberia

You mean the same as America being a buffer force between Israel and the rest of the Middle East?

I think most of this coutries can undertand other language. Polish Ukrainian and Byelorussian is quite same.

yebat' Im from Belarus and am introverted as well.

Cool.
Cz
How you pronounce^?
Tsszsss?

Really, guys it must be something in the water.
Water that turns Belarusians shy.

...

Half of the country is unlivable due to radioactive fallout.
