I actually read one of the most popular "science" reports that feminists like to tout as proof that the differences in performance and intelligence between men and women are a result of environment. I basically involved giving men and women a test, either an SAT or an IQ test, where men ended up scoring higher. A few weeks later, they gave them new tests, but this time the women were supposed to read a text written from a male point of view before the test, and pretend they were men while taking the test. Apparently, this boosted their score to a point where they were more or less equal to men.
Now, this test is obviously bullshit on so many levels, and it's designed to prove what the "researchers" believe to be the truth. I'm also certain that this would not be replictable in a controlled environment led by actual, unbiased scientists.
It really goes to show how far the left is willing to go to prove their bullshit hypothesis.

Most scientists are liberals so I'm not really sure your claim that "liberals don't what science is" is valid. Both sides of politics like to think they have the science on their side, they focus different issues. I don't think anyone could argue that the Trump administration knows science.

Trouble with science these days is the publish or perish dilemma. You can barely get research funding if your idea isn't in the realm of what is acceptable. Also most of your time is just trying to publish anything.
Being in the business myself I can say that it is not optimal. But given that science is relatively underfunded I don't think we could expect much else. I don't necessarily think it has to do with the realm of what is "acceptable", but more with what people think is likely. It's mostly the contrarians who get remembered in science. Einstein being a prime example. His theories of special and general relativity were taken with a large amount of skepticism at first, but once they were experimentally validated they were quickly adopted.
As I said, the ones who are paid that much are paid to find a way to print a report telling the plebs red is blue.

Do you understand how peer review works? Anonymous referees, can be basically any level from PhD candidates (paid fuck all) to emeritus professors (generally not paid at all). If someone publishes demonstrably false shit it won't get published in a respectable journal.
