OK, but whose interest is it in to escalate? It appears antifa is just stupidly escalating out of anger/fear, but it's dangerous to underestimate the opponent especially since we assume there is a more powerful hand directing them.
I assume the directing hand wants a color revolution type situation and will stage events, martyrs, etc. In that case, we could still be OK since our side's propaganda and intelligence is far better than they estimate.
There's another concept that may apply. I heard it from some podcast, forget what. But that the leftist has an attitude towards violence that's feminine in that they don't understand how to escalate and de-escalate violence. Men understand that you test an adversary with escalating shows of force in order to get one to step down and at some point, one opponent is beaten and then they submit and you stop fighting. Women don't seem to view violence this way. They don't deal with making shows of force, rather they sulk or plot. And they don't respectfully deal with winning/losing.
The same thing has been going on with these public demonstrations. The right has gradually been ramping up with stronger public shows of force, just hoping the other side will stop, while the left has been doing basically the same tactics the whole time.
Another thing is that the most important strategic point is preventing antifa from getting mass minority support. I think we're pretty good here as well since minorities only riot for specific things that are directly concerning them, mostly cops.
