This pain I feel...
I'm learning German too, just bring up facts how it's one of the most spoken languages in Europe whenever I get asked but in actuality I want to understand the Fuhrers speeches personally
How do Germans (real Germans) think of German-Americans/the German diaspora überall? There are 43 million folks of Deutsche Abstammung in den USA.
seit 5.45 Uhr wird jetzt zurückgeschossen!
I have many forefathers, Mr. German, amongst them are even Germans themselves. Most of my ancestors are from France though with the rest being English.
But I do not learn French, nor do I wish to. English is the only language that I need to speak, after all, it is the language of my forefathers and our Founding Fathers.

im pretty blackpilled about my heritage. Germans had a good run. but if they wont even bother to save themselves and actively campaign to tarnish people who do and destroy others heritages then into the dustbin of history we go. German culture is practically dead and almost taboo. learning nip because at least they have a future and I already watch their cartoons.
feels pretty bad. maybe next time lads.
Do you mean what do we think about americans with german heritage ?
I think they are pretty based and I am proud of them.
When ever I see things like Heinz Ketchup or Budweiser or another big company who was founded by germans I am proud.
Also it is always nice when people learn our language, makes me proud too.Plus it is awesome that people have interest in our country/history or culture.
It's actually so funny to hear those old speeches. The sound and rhetoric of those speeches doesn't exist anymore, those guys were legit spitting fire into the crowd.

If the roman empire could fall, we can admit Germany will become irrelevant some day too.
Why do you think Angela wants the fourth reich? The EU is essentially a vehicle to make the rest of Europe Germany's bitch. Shit tier countries (Greece) help bring the value of the Euro down so Germany can mass export.
>1% of the world's population
>10% of the world's exports, including some companies you may recognize:
>Bayer
>Daimler-Benz (Mercedes-Benz in the USA)
>Volkswagen (founded by the National Socialists under the belief that every German family should be able to afford a quality car)
Yes,german literature and classic music is really good. The best part about us is probably the science advancement and engineering.
We had a insane amount of genius in the early 1900's.
I highly doubt it
This,no matter how hard the rest of europe hates us and wants to destroy us.We will always rise back up again to cuck all of them.
Even if the EU falls apart it does not matter,we will be top dogs again anyways.
The only bad part about this country is it only gets reduced to 12 years in the last decades. It is emberassing and hurts our selfs.
college german were retarded, almost every chapter contained enrichment stories about turks and their cheesy struggle to be accepted
...
desu I'm looking to find a dialect to really speak polished German. My family is from Baden-Württemberg and I've picked up en bissle Schwäbisch when I've stayed there three times. What's one that wouldn't be too hard to get the hang of? I want to sound more native.
Russian is hard. :(
>American education
What? Dick?
>american
>cultural heritage
hue hue hue
I kind of want to do this too, op. My ancestors were mainly English and German/Austrian
I can't learn four different languages. And how did you know my mother was impregnated by an quartet of international rapists?
Just start. I've been learning for 8 years now and fuck I can sprechen the Deutsch pretty god damn good.
I'm looking into it. German's the goal, Latin too.
Problem being that to really dedicate I'd have to determine my real family.
Could also have Irish in me, Nan possibly had my Dad with her current partner, instead of ex partner, a German.
I also probably have Romanian and Russian in me (a chance, migration to Austria then Germany), but Romanian is a beautiful language from what I've heard.
>youtube.com
badass. you should try to move to a German community. i def would
Well yeah every Indian can speak the language of their ancestors on the plus side I have been trying to learn German too
I had no idea 'Straya was such a clusterfuck of culture.
>Mfw I can speak 4 languages without putting any effort
german is such a beautiful language! I love it when atleast some people in the world can preserve it. The "new germans", boomers and millenials should just die already. Our language gets ripped apart by arabic slangs and shieet
Call me ignorant, but I'm not educated;
Do citizens of Bangladesh and India speak different dialects locally?
>great grandfather killed nazis, hated Germans because "all they ever do is shoot at you"
My cousin's great grandfather was a translator in the US army during WWII (he spoke German at home) and was taken POW. In the camp he had to hide the fact that he could speak German/understand what the guards were saying otherwise they'd kill him.
I speak German fluently as any national socialist should, was hoping of moving to Germany and work there but then Merkel and rapefugees happened making it a dead language. Dont regret it tho, its a beautiful language.
Sehr gut, user. Erhalte das deutsche Volk am Leben.
I'm learning to read and speak Sindarin so I can LARP more effectively.
They share their language with the state of West bengal called bangla but they have a slightly different dialect
It was a joke, Pajeet.
>Actual educated immigration halted due to low intelligence inbreds
Bravo, Merkel!
I can understand Greek, but i can't write it, barely can read it and I can form sentences but I can't really hold a full conversation in it. Will send my kids to Greek school to learn the language better than I did
You never know with Americans :^)
I want to learn Portuguese and Japanese.
How hard would it be for me to learn both at the same time?
Same here my grandfather(dead) knew german and taught my dad the language but he's a liberal cuck and never taught it to me because evil nazis.
Portuguese first. Don't fuck with eastern languages until you learn the terminology of linguistics (cases, declensions, conjugations, tenses, articles). I tried learning German and Dutch at the same time, and it was hard enough even though they are very similar. I say one then the other :)
Viel Spaß!
It's not that much he's a odd one. Most of us are British or Irish, with some Germans and Italians thrown it
>polished german
Do you mean like Oxford english, which we learn in school ? Or do you mean an accent that has polish influence ?
If you mean the first one,it is called "Hochdeutsch" or "Highgerman".It is basically the version that everbody can understand each other.
For example people from switzerland have a heavy accents(probably the biggest except maybe dutch as a language which is kinda similar to german).
That means if they speak "schwitzerdeutsch" (swissgerman) it is sometimes impossible to understand them. The same goes for heavy schwäbisch or sächsisch.
So they use "Hochdeutsch" if they speak to native germans.
"Hochdeutsch" isn't as standarized as Oxford english though. It is basically german that is not totally bastarised through certain slang words or accents.
I mean I speak only high german but my region in general has certain words/pronounciation that just aren't as common somewhere else.
en.wikipedia.org
Basically High German is german without a heavy influence of dialects.
General advice I can give you,if you look at the map of the wiki article.
Don't go to the eastern states(saxony ect.),the very southern parts(bayern),the most western parts(köln) or very high up .
obrigado famalam
learn it with me bro. my great grandfather probably didnt teach my grandfather it because my great grandfather faught the nazis. his moms dad was half german and his dad was austrian, i bet he knows it though
I'm "German amarican" and I know a few words and phrases in German but what is the best way to start learning faster? My family was from Westphalia in 1860s and only married other Germans here.
Im not planning on learning Yiddish, Tupi or Japanese, so no.
Polished meaning clean, natural, etc.
rosetta stone
...
holy fuck kill urself, Tolkien is great but actually wasting your time learning a fantasy language, kill urself you disgusting nerd.
Yes,that it was I thought. At first I was like, what does he mean with polish influence?!
But as I said it is known as "Hochdeutsch".
But even people who don't speak with a heavy accent from their region have sometimes a slip in of words from their region.Or they have a weird pronounciation.
For example people from the north can't speak the latter S very well.
They sound like a snake when speaking S.It is so unique you instantly recognize them.
Or some accents role the R very hard, while others can't.I can't role R at all, while some people can roll it like Hitler.
Or in my region people often say "wat" instead of "was".
"What do you want?/Wat willst du denn?"
If you learn textbook material it should general be ok.
Just dont learn accents like Sächsisch, schwäbisch or Kölsch.
Look at my flag, what kind of heritage did you expect?
Most "white Brazilians" on here are actually of jewish origin, when Portugal converted their jews, they sent then mostly here, no pure german would run here, they were mostly jews escaping, most Br's are delusional through.
DW has some courses. That's how I got started many moons ago. Of course immersion is the best of all teachers. My phone, car, laptop, notes to myself at work--all are in German.
To learn grammar (most frustrating part of German), you can find that online easily (even on Wikipedia). However, I bought an AMAZING textbook that is very in depth. It set me back $80, but very worth it. "Modern German grammar a practical guide (third edition)" Ruth Whittle
no, and I'm actually second generation Czech, not some fag 5th gen LARPer. Gotta learn
I only have one father.
Im a bunch of Europeans mixed together, so i learned german denn ich liebe hitler.
Now im almost conversational in french, and i know Cyrillic and a tiny bit of russian. I can speak enough slovak to get around.
My family has been in america for hundreds of years, but i plan on spending my early 20s in europe before i join a millitary.
Japanese is simple though.
The only thing that is really hard is memorizing all the characters.
No way!
I have no idea what my mother's heritage is, She came from Russia but was not Russian at all. I suspect she is a Jew or maybe Tatar.
My father is for sure a German man. Blue eyes, High forehead, and blondish hair. But I hate Germans and their country. Germans will be speaking Arabic soon anyways so why would I learn it.
it's literally my mother(s) land now that I think of it, kek
>Most "white Brazilians" on here are actually of jewish origin
prolly mostly English
Are you trolling or just enormously dumb?
Thank you will do!
Why yes, please do tell me about your 100% German heritage.
guten tag
wie gehts faggit
my great aunt was hitlers secretary
Mir's gut, danke :)
I have the birth certificates for all my grandparents in Italy. There are many German descendants in the South. None of this is a mistery, except maybe to a subhuman chink jew like you.
Yeah, my family's all over.
I'm even part Maori and part Italian technically. Hell I might even have Egyptian blood in me, but that's probably just a family rumor.
Dominant features are British and Germanic though.
Given all this I live in Melbourne so in the coming and current generations your statement for me finds no local logic.
Actually, east coast cities are mainly english, but the midwest is mainly german. My parents also told me im like 1/8 native, but thats a common amerikike tactic to seem ((cultured)) like those 1/16 people that use it to get into uni.
Kinda sucks that germany is so fucked, i really wanted to live there for some time, but it looks like ill just vagabond around observing the downfall of western civilization.
I still have my grandfather documents, in fact, i used it to get myself a nice German passport, doesn't mean i didn't come from a jewish family.
Tip: your grandparents didn't leave Italy for nothing.
This.
Nip/white mix and kanji makes me want to blow my fucking brains out
I'm gonna learn Spanish but probably just in case i need to get the fuck out of the US
>Mir geht's gut, danke
ftfy
> picrelated
Not really. Fuck altrights
He's trolling bud.
The great secret of South America is that it harbors a substantial number of unreconstructed substantially-European peoples.
This angers the Jew. Shhhhhh.
Also, since the dude you're arguing with right now claimed an indigenous bloodline he's liable to aligning himself with various shit-tier third worldist movements. Basically neo-Trotskyite scum.
OVEN. NOW.
I doubt that most Brazilians with German/Italian Heritage have jewish ancestors.
The same goes for Argies who constist of mostly spanish and italian settlers.
I doubt that facism drove jews to migrate to southern america.
Yes. I speak Dutch and German.
anything prior to the mid 1800s is mainly English
> angers the Jew
Muh jooz raund me! Jooz kntrol dem govmen
I'm learning Mandarin Chinese atm.
I would learn Danish, but I'm not sure where to start with that. Would Duolingo get me going? Where would I go from there?
>Tfw grandparents spoke German to me when I was up until I was 6
>Tfw too much of a cool kid teenager to practice and cant even put together a sentence anymore.
Also, I'm not East Asian in any way, it's just part of my geopolitical interests.
>nahuatl
Lul
OVEN. CHERKIN. NOW.
i'm relearning the German i lost after i grew up in Austria, hopefully one day i will become a german politician an- oh wait that already happened once
lmao, same here
I am actually libertarian. I hate """descent russian citizens""" as well as altfucks though
holy fuck kill urself, I'm making fun of the LARPing naziboos here learning a foreign language, kill urself you disgusting retard.
Hell yeah. Between high school and college I took 8 years worth of the fathertongue. There was a point in college where I actually started to think in German, which was weird. It doesn't really stick if you don't speak it daily, FYI.
An interesting side effect is that it allowed me to understand written French. It gets you thinking about the evolution of the English language, so you can extrapolate a surprising amount of vocabulary. Whenever we have two words for something, generally the fancy one is French, eg. "ask" vs "query."
