This guy's point is ridiculous. A nation's identity is the sum of its history, not its starting point. If a land is conquered, that nation now belongs to the conquerors. And if they lose it, it belongs to their successors.
Both can proudly be nationalistic because that nation is theirs. And they can call themselves whatever they like -- because they own it.
This is precisely the reason why mass immigration must be halted. Because we realize how nations change through demographics and if you want to continue to own it as you should, you shouldn't be opening the gates for the new conquerors.

We don't need to accept Christianity as a religion, but many of the traditions associated with chrisitianity were just taken from the pagan relgions that came before. A future might be secular but we should keep many of the chrisitian traditions we held before becoming secular.
