It would always survive in the West being passed on by infected immigrants and the whole drug culture of sharing needles. As it stands they are pretty sure they will have found a sellable cure for it by 2025, a number of cases have already been fully cleared of the disease.

I live in central GA. An old shopping center that the state was using as offices recently closed and a blood bank moved in.
